OS Struggle is real… help please

Earlier threads I made were to no avail. I hope now that I have started building fleets and trying to level them up, some can help me. I am still struggling with taking down bosses in corrosion 5 & 6 areas. I’m still leveling a lot of ships, so I hope someone can tell me that I am on the right track or if I need to prioritize another ship girl.

I don’t really know what else to be doing with my coins. Trying to upgrade more gear just to not have to gear swap seems like a waste of resources.

Gear has always been a bit of headache for me. I always struggled to understand what has value in what situations. Then OS came out and it just got more frustrating at the time

You could check out ECTL setups for your ships even so it's not 100% accurate for all the content (it's mostly for W13) or if you wanna get more in depth check out sam's Equipment guide

No, it’s set up. I mean like you said I had 3 tanks on a team. I was prioritizing survivability when I actually needed speed or power I guess

The "rule" is to have either a Tank,Squishy but Hard hitting DPS,Offtank or a Tank,Debuffer/Buffer,Offtank

I don’t know how to identify who does those well or even how to compare units in the same role

its an experience issue, the more you play and research the better you'll get at identifying and comparing

read the skills and stats and you'll be able to identify them

my advice is to just find the "normal" base stat for most ships and use that

You can always ask in gameplay help if you are not sure what role a ship fits, but an example of Tank/Dps/Offtank, although kinda overkill would be Azuma,Shimakaze and Unzen
