I am close to retrofit Portland. Unicorn is half way thought. In my opinion its annoying to farm these retrofit stuff with only 3 hard Mode trys a day

Anyways. The purple bulins aren’t rare, so use them. See if you can finish unicorn. If you can’t even clear any mobs with your second well that’s bad obv
Plus I feel like these days new ships are rarely purple, and they’re usually significantly worse than the golds
Lbs (limit breaks) make a very large difference. Plus if you farm 9-1 you’ll be stronger for the event

You’ll need to farm for event currency during the event then so the more prepared the better

Anyways you can afford to give some lbs to your purple ships in both fleets and do some uni retrofit nodes
That should be enough to push you to 9-1
Once you clear out 9-1 then you should just farm there a bit

Wellit’s true that overall you’ll be using higher rarity later on. Some of the purples are better though, and some of the golds are shit
The overlap means that yes often some lower rarities will be better
Eugen and maya are absolutely not worth levelling. Plus they’re expensive in terms of bulins
