musashi and fdg are strong enough but
you arent using the strongest fleets
still subject to lethal rng 14-4
mob fleet takes almost no damage most of the time, when they do they seem to be repaired within one or two nodes. but ya i can try switching people out. which fleet is what?

not sure how your gearing is, but gist of it is
the good AP BB guns, Hedgehog on Yuudachi and ASW auxes on uni
and healmode Aquila
generally everything i have is only +10 and the few UR gears i have are from the events and PR research. aside from that like only shinano and hakuryuu and nagato have +12 and +13 things and gear lab things are minimal.
if you want i can send the individual shipgirl's gears or just use the fleetbuilder thing

maybe volga on lethal is better than shinano
and kron drake swap
but that's just a maybe
so far everything seems to be okay. though in this run i didnt get any of the big bb fleets so, hard to say for sure.

the hard part of W14 testing is zero ammo triple bb nodes
boss done with 1:38 left. aquila and vang almost died though, when musashi was on boss she was almost died each time so meh.
14-2 boss is extremely high backline pressure
btw, does staying within the flare mess with the backline too or is it just the vanguard?
enemy flares only mess with frontline

it's pretty standard in W14 to use rudder backline 
Another issue is probably your lack of staggered CDs

ok well yeah things are not going well. maybe its because i forgot about the lighthouse? do the flare shells matter that much also?
anyways heres what happened, in the mob musashi and unicorn are taking too much damage and frontline is on the halfway point after 6 fleets even after trying to stall with uni.
boss: aquila died around 10 seconds after the boss spawned and then the frontline died around 20 seconds into the boss (give or take) (using anchorage and kron)
subs seemed to be doing a lot of the damage for the mob, but for the boss i honestly dont even know, there was way too much on the screen to even tell what actually happened
only one and i bought it this month so i cant get another right now through core data
mob vanguard being at only half HP is no issue
well unicorn and musashi were at around 10% each with 5 or so more nodes to go

its hard to say. i lose a lot of healing with volga gone but i make up the healing for the damage with shinano

the ships that spawn near the backline, i cant seem to destroy them quick enough. even when im manually battling and saving a torpedo for them they either eat my frontline or just take a big chunk of my backline
they're kinda like the bombers just not as quick and they're more tanky. u probably know which one im referring to

From augment, to using staag, to using gear lab gear
Its a 10% damage/defense difference from 120 to 125
Every level difference in this game is 2% more dmg and 2% more defense
but, for well prepped people, w14 only needs 120s
i feel like i might just be doing something really dumb
im doing all of the large fleets first, not counting the fleet in the way of the lighthouse. after i activate the lighthouse i try and do all of the BB nodes first and then the sub ones. should i grab the flare thing while doing it? does it matter that much? anyways, if i can make it past all of the large fleets any of the other fleets usually kill me anyway
no, some people here dont like grabbing flares at all
but lighthouse is beneficial
