indep would be a long wait atm since she needs specific planes and also retrofit to shine but its worth levelling her to be ready for that
since you'll be using all the t3 carrier prints to retrofit unicorn first getting more for indep is like massive RNG fest unfortunately

And is it better to do hardmode for the highest stage possible for them?

pretty much modernisation is the highest value node and then some ships have skill unlocks also

thats z1, 23 and z46
lot of damage but if u get unlucky u will go boom
z46 works fine by herself, she does a ton of damage
