For me, personally, the most cats I've had at one time was I think 5. I think my aunt it was 6 or 7, but most of them have passed now and she only has 4. The youngest two from that group - a pair of void siblings - and another brother sister that are much younger and Maine Coons.

My aunt told me that her one cat would sit in the bathroom while she was showering and just like.. look out into the hallway as if guarding her, and would just stay there until she's finished. She and I have both had cats that were curious about being in the shower by looking in or maybe wanting to know what was going on, but her Maine Coon just guards her the entire time and it's fascinating.
