My guess would be no. Spiders don't appear to have any functional memory, so I doubt they even recognize their owners or feel anything for them. They simply react to stimuli. Like a jellyfish.

If I had a pet spider it would be ornamental. I'd feed it. . . but interaction would be minimum. (Of course, I am terrified of spiders so. . .who can really say what I would do if I liked them.)

Long time ago, my then girlfriend had a pair of adorable rats and over time I learned I had bad allergies to them, so when she moved back home to help her mom's health issues, we had to give the rats up since I couldn't care for them myself.

I'm very glad I can have cats cause I can't imagine my life without them.
