every skill has 4 levels with 4 percentages
at each level, the skill applies a bigger bonus (or drawback in some cases) to the ship the commander is assigned to

this is where a lot of mixing and matching comes into play

a lot of US battleship accuracy builds have Andrew Cunningham, a British BB commander, as inspiration bc his base trait tightens shell grouping

personally, I like to have the japanese CV commander on my american BB builds for a big AA boost

then for upgrades to 14, 15, and 16 (max) they no longer require promotion orders, but now require insignias, a different item that is more difficult to get

and then theres commendations for the legendary levels that are even harder to get

When the plane on the air, the fuel will reduce very slow, but when you boost the plane speed, it will decrease faster. When the fuel bar hit 0, you're focred to recall those plane, those plane will fly back to the carrier

Generally, one person goes for the Lexington, one for transports, rest escort the convoy into the bay

The people who went for convoy and Lex have paths into the bay that gives them crossfires onto all the ships that the main convoy will be fighting head on, so sending the highest DPM ships or ships with lots of torps to do side objectives is better than sending a BB

My torps got perma'd near instantly, unfortunately (yes, both sides)

Honestly, the fuel thing seems like an interesting concept

to go with this, they removed the engine overheat mechanic and we can now boost or slow down forever, as well as having base speeds of aircraft increase by at least 10% according to the intro video

when your squadron runs out of fuel (which is a different amount of time for every squadron of every carrier LOL) you have a few seconds to do something before your squadron will automatically RTB

Now for the thing that does suck and im not very happy about

CVs can no longer CV

CV spotted ships appear only on the minimap for teammates and cant be fired at until a ship spots them

Spotter planes and fighters launched from cruisers and battleships can no longer spot around islands

And CVs can no longer spot torpedoes, making DDs more annoying to deal with

I hat ethe spotting thing, but im interested to see where this goes, despite everyone complaining bc "oh no, carriers updated"

Im definitely going to be playing some CVs after update
