not taking whatever comes after season 2 into consideration, I wish the show ended at season 1. it handled all the themes very well, told an interesting story, there was a conflict outside of the mech fights that was much more compelling than the fights. The characters in that season had very interesting relationships that developed in an enjoyable way. Theres some other stuff, and I would rather not elaborate on all of my points because it would take too long, and it would end up heavily spoiling anyone who hasnt watched it, nor do i want to drop a massive black wall in the chat. But season 2 does not share any of those qualities in my opinion
