a big reason why steam is so successful is because of how easy and convenient it is to use, and also how cheap
steam realized that piracy culture is much bigger outside of us in countries with less buying power, because $30 in those countries is not at all the same as $30 in us, so they pushed and successfully implemented regional pricing and capitilized on those regions. and then made it so it's very easy to buy and then instantly install and start playing games on steam, compared to headache of having to look for it and pirate it.

nobody is going to pay for an anime streaming service if half the anime is region locked, or pay for manga when each chapter costs like a week of groceries for them

"this is a piece of a real person's life that you got to witness" the best
and it's also written extremely well to boot, which is not that common for light novels ngl
I genuinely feel kinda out of it and a bit empty now that it's done, which I don't feel that often after finishing a series

Fate/Stay Night is not a hentai game by the way.

It's original inferior version was an eroge however.

The best versions got rid of the R18 content and added scenes that improve characterization and worldbuilding instead.

You can read whichever version you prefer though.
