Some are better then others

The platform I use is Ibis paint

Cause I cannot afford Clio studio

There are plenty of tutorials online on how to get started

I've been recently watching this guy and his tutorials after being introduced by another person in the lounge

ye, something I did early on was find some simplified anatomy thing (that you vibe with the most) like on the left, and then break down poses or whatever with it by drawing over them

then after some tries, do it without drawing over it, but just by looking at it to the side or another monitor etc

Recently I've been looking into certain poses and seeing how different shapes can work, I just got to finish up a math test, and the break is pretty near so I might look into anatomy a bit more

Still in the “Fuck around with color placement until I find something I like” stage

You don't have to, I just thought that maybe putting like minerals to the stone sector might make it look nice

I do like the leaf design, it’s nice but maybe make the flora wrap around the shield like overgrown shrubbery in a stone wall

And then add a few cracks in the shield that can look like ore deposits

I chose a rose for the plant part, considering if we use precious metals for the ores

like roses, they are really beautiful but they have thorns

If you're going for a earth-type shield i'd go for a more crude or natual look rather than your current forged look

All of them are fancharacters of mine. Rika (White Haired girl) doesn't have powers, so it would kill her as since she's still just an ordinary person. Haruka (Orange Haired) could technically do it but it would require cutting and it would really make her uncomfortable, even if technically she'd be able to survive without it hurting either.
As for swapping bodies, well not really.

My Pixel art player sprite literally has 3 Backup "Base" layers because I am nervous about things breaking.

Third one is just the original sprite I based it off, which I upscaled to add more detail

So I decided to, instead of slamming my head on a wall to make more detailed sprites right away, I would make enemy sprites based off of Link to the Past in order to work on making the enemies visually distinct in various ways.

I have literally been staring at this stupid thing and every time I do I swear to god these eyes change position and it bothers me.

we would be seeing more of the front of her leg rather than the side

also, i would angle the butt a little more, with her left (our right) being angled up a little bit, because right now he legs dont look attached

So basically, the alchemist guild tried to summon demons, they use orphans to offset the cost, one doesn’t die and becomes an alchemist, another is in a coma for a decade or so, and you’re trying to save the first guy from the grimoires.

I think the shading around her forehead is what is throwing me off

hair is weird, theres no how to shade hair

its all up to you, because hair is just so unique

people prefer cel shading hair, people prefer lots of detail, people prefer somewhere in between

you need to try them all out, and eventually you mix what looks best to you

I tried cel shading, I tried overly detailed, my best point was minimal detailed shading with light cel shading

this increibly old art is the only time what Iwas trying to pull off worked though no matter how many times I try to replicate, it doesnt look as good
