Well she kinda is. It’s only that Soul Gem that’s keeping her alive. Like the others.

And her head isn’t the only part that pops off.

She does have limits though. Like for starters. Her body parts have to stay within 100M of the gem like the others or else they stop moving.

@scarlet crest If you're serious about drawing, I'd recommend two excellent books: "Figure drawing for all it's worth" by Andrew Loomis and "Figure Drawing: Design and Invention" by Michael Hampton; I consider these a must have for every artist.

i think that Michael Hampton book, "figure drawing" is one of main book that you at least must read to comprehend the body basic parts or anatomy

Loomis is slightly dated by modern standards, with entirely different set of beauty standards that date back to early 40-50s, but it's probably the best book out there, when it comes to knowledge and technical information on figure drawing. Another example that not much had really changed since then.

There's a lot of things one won't like about getting technical with drawing, it's a must nontheless.

The more you practice, the more it becomes more of an afterthought, than something you have to actively ponder about, though.

reading Loomis' book when i first started almost killed all my motivation to draw

so incredibly boring and i've gotten no use from it

depends on how you want to learn, but textbooks aren't for everyone

And there are two roads: you can do it the "hard way" and try to draw your anime, make mistake after mistake without even acknowledging them and don't move anywhere for weeks, months or even years... or you can do it the proper way: learn the basics, the geometry of human body and draw dozens upon dozens of simplified figures to get the general gist of how are we shaped, how our bodies can bend, where are the important structures and how all of it works to create a consistent drawing of a human character.

Only after you get proficient with that and can draw basic human shapes from your memory, you move to the next step and start applying the aesthetics of anime style to these characters to get the results you want. You can't and won't draw an anime character if you have no idea about human body and basics of anatomy.

Ultimately, it's up to the person how they want to learn. I find the latter method far more approachable and farm more organized and especially at the beginnings - it's far more important to have clear, simple precise goals and lots of determination, rather than joining the "just draw everyday" club.

Saying to people "just draw a lot" is possibly the worst type of advice you can give to those, who want to learn drawing.

The "how" is very important.

of course it makes logical sense to learn the rules before you bend them

but you should find a balance between learning and drawing what you want

since for all things, when you enjoy what you're doing, you're much more motivated to do it and improve

A word of advice - you might actually want to use a ruler when drawing long straight, technical lines. Don't try to draw them by hand, especially when your hand tends to shake. It will help you receive better drawings in general.

Creating a light sketch with a hard pencil before you get into actual drawing of the entire object might also make things easier afterwards.
