The stuff you draw can easily work on like a 1000 or 2000 canvas and it won’t crash that way

I’m assuming the or greater goes towards the dpi since it’d need to be sized down for the book if you went bigger

300 is like the bare minimum dpi for printing stuff

350 is alright but if you can do more than 350 I’m assuming they’d want that since it’ll look way higher quality in print. It’ll just destroy your ram and your program will continuously crash it it doesn’t have good specs lol

You need at least 8gb min for 300dpi+, 16 is recommended and 32 or higher for huge, extremely complicated project files.

Dpi is more about processing power, than memory; dont expect to run files well on cheap entry level home laptops

Pretty alright though if you’re going to be erasing parts of your work you should consider not going so heavy handed. Going light handed and refining later with darker lines looks way better than going in heavy handed immediately and not being able to erase mistakes properly

ig artists tend to just stick to what's trendy and what looks alright and tend to not really understand the fundamentals so you're being taught how to do art by somebody who doesn't really know how to do art

then in return you pick up bad habits which will be hard to unlearn

there's plenty of good proper tutorials online from people who genuinely know what they're doing and can explain to you properly why they do things a certain way

ig art tends to be less about quality and more about your ability to follow as many trends as possible+post as often as possible so that results in art where a lot of edges are cut to be able to turn over daily art. if you're trying to genuinely learn how to draw and actually get good at it it's better to learn from people who put in the effort to get good and can teach you the fundamentals and explain it all to you in a proper way. skillshare is always good for that but yeah I mean I guess if you're not looking towards becoming an actual good artist and mainly just want to churn out as much 'aesthetic' art as quickly as possible then the tutorials will work

Like IG tutorials also never go into depth about why you should do things the way they're telling you to do it. It's always just '' Don't do this, do this!'' or like a 4 panel tutorial where they just tell you how they do something and they try to pass it off as a tutorial
