Thats always the hardest, I try to add some motion and variation to my lines to create an illusion of dynamic and movement

If your aperture is higher, than the background and foreground becomes more blurred, but you get more light

It gets weirder

However, depth of field is not a fixed length

If you focus in on an object further away and you focus on the object, the depth of field increases

To what you can do with this information as an artist

Also pro-tip for shading: background color will spill on a person if the light is intense enough (if anyone works with a green screen or photoshops will now how much of a pain in the ass it is)

Its a bit angled but better. I try to think of how arms feel and how they position themselves when tucked behind us; your elbows remain close to your sides

@limber harbor You need to stop with this chicken scratching, it does you no good. If you want to improve your lineart, try caligraphy or just plain ol' handwriting. Lines as long with a single stroke as you can. It's a good excersise in general. If you think your handwriting is and looks as bad as your strokes then you definitely have something to improve on. A lot of people struggle with just proper line drawing and without it, it makes the entire art creation process much more difficult.

Marc Brunet has a good channel if you're looking for useful beginner tips and there's a couple other channels too.

I wouldn't say chicken scratch is the problem since they can be used for various things and getting ideas on paper. I think the proper term is lacking of confident lines.

@limber harbor My biggest advice is try thinking about the direct of lines and how shapes interact with each other. You shown that you have the ability to be quite the capable artist, it just feels like you are unsure how everything fits together. I would suggest playing around with perspective a bit as that seems to be the biggest weak point I think

Our art will never live up to our own standards, but don't be to harsh on yourself. You'll get better. Reality of practicing is you will consistently suck until one day you'll just figure out. But that doesn't mean to stop practicing
