Ships without tech is rare , and alot of tech is down right useless.In order to actually sort nicely you need multiple buttons. Honestly modifying the archive tab to do it better is a better qol

It eliminates the constant back-and-forth between the Tech Lab and the Dock by visually flagging whether a ship needs Limit Breaking for Tech Points or Level 120 for Stat Bonuses.

"lab > fleet tech > fleet" is a reference sheet, not a management tool. Having to jump back and forth between the Lab to see who gives +Hit and then the Dock to see if you actually own them is redundant and peak unintuitive UI.
