#

our country had the benefit of having the infrastructure in the works when they decided to switch to a fiber backbone

#

so they ran it all underground

bleak owl
#

which country?

subtle hawk
#

and now we have a 95.5% coverage

bleak owl
#

AAAMERICCCA FUK YEA?

#

that country?

gloomy tinsel
#

Lol imagine the USA having good coverage

subtle hawk
#

america is also struggling with their fiber runs

bleak owl

which country then

gloomy tinsel
#

I'm in the USA and lol coverage here

subtle hawk
#

we're beaten by korea

gloomy tinsel
#

Singapore's also very up there

subtle hawk
#

still

#

korea is the only one giving gigabit as a minimum

gloomy tinsel
#

Gigabit availability here in the US is not guaranteed in the slightest

subtle hawk
#

there it's normal

#

I mean here it's also freely available

#

but not many buy it

gloomy tinsel
#

Also, it's probably not surprising that effective speeds here very rarely reach the advertised speeds

#

Usually they come up significantly short

subtle hawk
#

mine are exactly as advertised

#

any less and I can bonk them

unkempt oxide
#

good that you dont live in germany the internet here is as fast as it was 50 years before EssexCry

gloomy tinsel
#

Here you pay for 100 megs and get like... 60? 70? And that's considered normal here LOL

subtle hawk
#

I pay for 10+1Gbits

#

with a extra IPv4 and one IPv6 address

gloomy tinsel
#

Some people here are still on like 10 meg plans, it's baaaaad here

#

Like really baaaaad

subtle hawk
#

and even then

#

I capped my pc to suck only 200Mbits

#

and it's plain obvious when running speedtests

cause the needle is pegged at exacly 200

gloomy tinsel

bleak owl
gloomy tinsel
#

I'm getting about 60 down here right now, that's a bad day for me

#

Normal days it's 70, on really good days it's 80-90

bleak owl
#

That's higher than mineHornetDead

gloomy tinsel
#

Your speed is already considered decent here in the US, hahaha

A lot of people can't even manage more than 20 down

#

Our internet infrastructure is a mess

Yay... yeeted all six of the builds I can do at present and the first two times are not promising at all

yeah if u had actual 200Mbits it would fluctuate

but when it's artificiality limited you can see a clear cut line there

sand spruce

wanted some "information"

valid acorn

about a new rig

sand spruce
#

Assuming you have a budget of $900, what is the best PC you can buy in your own preference? The PC must have a CPU, Mobo, RAM, SSD, HDD, Discrete GPU, PSU and a Case. All others can be optional but still need to be within the budget. Try include prices per part meguface.

gloomy tinsel
#

Depends on what the PC will be used for

#

And if games, then which games, at what resolution and framerate? Quality settings, too

sand spruce
#

a balance mostly, well at least 1080p

gloomy tinsel
#

If I bought it to my own preference, it would look kinda weird. I will choose parts that are more reasonable

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/M6y6Dx

I didn't choose any HDD. It's just my opinion, but I think that at this budget, you should just spend the extra for a big SSD (that has high endurance, so none of that QLC crap). And don't worry about the compatibility, because you can update the BIOS on the MSI Tomahawk without a CPU.

Feedback from other #technology folk is appreciated, there could be things I missed.

#

@sand spruce

sand spruce
#

ill check it out

#

thx pats

gloomy tinsel
#

:3

subtle hawk
#

I would use a better vendor for RAM

gloomy tinsel
#

Sure, could spend a little more to get some Corsair Vengeance LPX or somesuch

bleak owl
#

I think instead of the 3600 get the 2600 and with the saved money to get 1660tiKagaSip

gloomy tinsel
#

1660 Super and 1660 Ti have almost the same performance, so no point going to the Ti imo

bleak owl
#

Same for 2600 and 3600JeanDead

gloomy tinsel
#

3600 is actually significantly faster than 2600

bleak owl
#

OkEntyScared

gloomy tinsel
#

The average FPS won't increase drastically with a 3600 vs a 2600, but the 1% lows and 0.1% lows will

#

So the experience will be a good deal smoother

gloomy tinsel
#

Tbh

#

And this is just my opinion, but I would rather have a steady 60 FPS, than 120 FPS that had 1% framedrops to 30 FPS

subtle hawk
#

60 fps pleb

bleak owl
#

60 fps is for boomer

vagrant holly
#

isn't an m.2 eating up a bit too much budget in that build?

valid acorn
#

Well, it is but not that much

gloomy tinsel
#

M.2 is just a form factor, there are both SATA and NVMe drives for it

#

There are SATA M.2 drives, like the MX500, which are much cheaper while still being of high quality. Could use one of those instead.

subtle hawk
#

@gloomy tinsel

gloomy tinsel
#

@subtle hawk

#

Given that NVMe is gradually becoming standard, it is hard to say whether SATA will be enough in the future. The PS5 will likely be using NVMe, for example.

bleak owl
#

im using nvme too

#

they are so cheap rn

olive axle
#

The speed of m.2 NVME is much greater then m.2 SATA.

gloomy tinsel
#

Yes

bleak owl
#

For transferring file yes

stone wave
#

Yeah I'd say something along the lines of an R5 3600 and a 1660 of some sort.

#

Could probably go with a more basic NVME drive like the Intel 660p

#

Put the difference towards an x570 board and not worry about flashing the BIOS

#

Maybe hold out for B550

stone granite
#

if you haven't already paid for it I don't recommend nvme

#

it's called nvmeme for a reason

#

which is to say that its advantages over an m.2 SATA drive are in sustained read/write over a longer period of time

#

and the likelihood of you needing to transfer at 50 gb/s for longer than a second at a time is very low

stone wave
#

a 1TB m.2 SSD is like $99.99 and a more basic 1TB NVME SSD is like $110

stone granite
#

if you've already got one it's fine but I wouldn't advise anyone to go and buy one if they're paying a premium for it

#

if you think better sustained speeds is worth the 20$ then you do you

#

but it's a pretty pointless upgrade imo

#

kinda like turbocharging a car that'll only ever be used on city streets

stone wave
#

it's great if you do 2k or 4k video editing and want quick scrubbing

stone granite
#

and do you need to scrub 2k+ videos?

stone wave
#

I'm giving an example

#

I got a 1 TB Samsung SM961 NVME (it's Polaris based and between a 960 Pro and 970 Pro)

#

The reason why I got that one is for MLC

stone granite
#

I didn't say that it's useless

stone wave
#

flash memory

stone granite
#

just that I wouldn't recommend it to the average person

#

(as the average person doesn't edit 4k videos)

stone wave
#

the price difference is $10

#

if we're talking basic QLC DRAM-less drives

stone granite
#

I'm surprised that the price is the same between nvme and sata with both drives having the same cell type

stone wave
#

IMO it's more of a might as well, to me.

#

But yeah, as far as the average consumer is concerned, 7 second cold startup vs 11 seconds or whatever is inconsequential.

stone granite
#

it's more like half a second difference between the two

stone wave
#

I only got mine cause I decided to get MLC flash memory for better read/write endurance.

stone granite
#

like such a small difference in boot time that you'd need a stopwatch to tell the difference

bleak owl
foggy fiber
subtle hawk
#

don't listen to @stone granite he's spouting nonsense, NVMe drives are marginally more expensive while providing way better access times and throughput as well as higher sustained I/O speeds not to mention a lot more energy efficient

bleak owl
#

For transferring file nvme is better

#

For other stuff is like the same

subtle hawk
#

it's overall better than SATA

bleak owl
#

As sata

subtle hawk
#

for like 10-20$ it's not worth to gimp yourself

bleak owl
#

Yep

stone wave
#

I got this: https://www.newegg.com/samsung-sm961-1tb/p/0D9-0009-001T0

$60 more than your basic NVME and ~$75 more than your basic SATA M.2, but for 1 TB of MLC storage it's a steal. No SLC cache so it has more steady read/write and MLC has a higher read/write endurance than TLC drives or QLC.

#

It's a matter of how much throughput and read/write endurance you want (and whether or not you can justify the cost) and where you want to penny pinch but the $10-20 to go from a SATA based drive to NVME is rather straight forward.

#

Though if anyone is eyeing the SM961 I'd go for the PM981 instead since that's newer.

If you know how to shuck an external drive and tape a 3v pin on a SATA connector you can get a 10TB white label WD drive for $160 off of Best Buy rn.

gloomy tinsel

Oh yeah, shucking can get you drives for quite a bit cheaper

#

Drawbacks include not being guaranteed a specific model, and maybe warranty stuff

weak lintel
stone wave

The platter density means there's not much difference between a 5200 RPM and a 7200 RPM drive for a single user, but... without drive parity you risk looking several TB of data should the drive ever die on you.

I just have a contact at Seagate that can supply me drives for cheap for my NAS

#

Hey guys need some help

#

Trying to find a gaming laptop that is cheap

#

Something under 2k dollars

#

Or in the philippines under 85k pesos

subtle hawk
#

<$2k
cheap

#

there's $1k gaming laptop with 1060M

subtle hawk
#

@wooden geyser what are you looking for in terms of games, resolution, refresh rate and quality settings

wooden geyser
#

@subtle hawk something for streaming on twitch or something

#

Especially when it comes for video editing and can play triple A games above 60 fps

subtle hawk
#

well then 2k won't be enough

wooden geyser
#

My choices are predator's helios 300, lenovo's legion or strix G

subtle hawk
#

you might want to look into a very compact pc

#

the helios is lackluster and not a good value

wooden geyser
#

I mean from the classmates i've talked who are good at technology and shit they've recommended me the zephyrus G or the helios 300

subtle hawk
#

then they're not good at technology

wooden geyser
#

Idk

#

I need a laptop that not only can game but for schoolwork and for video editing as well

#

But the choices nowadays can be often damn hard

subtle hawk
#

any 500$ toaster can video edit

#

as for school work literally any laptop is good

wooden geyser
#

I mean my 2 core pc crashes any video editing software i throw at it (except for Windows MM and filmora)

subtle hawk
#

well do you need it to be laptop?

#

with 2k$ you can build a baller pc

#

and with some spare cash

#

get a cheap laptop

wooden geyser
#

Depends

#

I've originally planned for a ryzen 5, rtx 2060 pc

subtle hawk
#

and that's like 1000 to 1500$

wooden geyser
#

But since school is a more top priority i set that aside for a bit

subtle hawk
#

trust me

#

school can be done on any laptop that can run windows

#

you don't need a beast laptop to do school

#

with 2000$ I would set aside 500-700$ for the school laptop and use the rest for gaming pc

#

and you would get way better performance from that

#

and won't have to carry a 30 kg monster on your back all day

#

I'm now in uni and I can say for sure, a laptop that can do what I need and is light is way better than having a gaming brick in my bag

valid acorn
#

Thats a huge wishlist

subtle hawk
#

not really

this

now that I have my pc I could finally go lower on my laptop now if I need one

I too hate carrying a gaming brick everywhere

gloomy tinsel

Also, Inland has some good SSDs. The Inland Premium uses a high quality controller and Toshiba NAND

vagrant holly
#

Samsung is cheap af for the quality

stone wave
#

The OEM Samsung Polaris NVMEs are great if you want something that leans closer to prosumer.

#

Since they're like nearly half the price of the non-OEM 970 PRO line.

#

Otherwise I'd say something like... the Crucial MX500 NVME (avoid the P1) or choose a similar nvme with MLC flash

#

if you don't need or can't justify the extra cost for the improved read/write endurance and higher sustained speeds

#

I would suggest avoiding drives using QLC flash, as well as those without a DRAM cache.

#

MLC with DRAM is reasonable and won't break the bank.

#

If you want TLC and don't want to go with an OEM drive without the manufacturer warranty, then the Corsair MP510 is an option.

gloomy tinsel
#

The MX500 is actually M.2 SATA, not NVMe

stone wave
#

is it oops

#

did they make a nvme that isnt the p1?

subtle hawk
#

@stone wave I have been running a QLC NVMe SSD for a year now

#

literally no difference from the MLC one

stone wave
#

Outside of Samsung it seems like it's just a $20 difference or so.

#

QLC has superior read performance IIRC

subtle hawk
#

not rlly

#

it just has higher density

stone wave
#

NGL I'd consider the 2TB Intel 660p as a secondary NVME if I had the extra slot

#

need something to store all those Steam games I never play

#

but yeah ive never had an SSD of any sort fail on me

#

but at the 1TB range the cost difference between flash memory types is so minor, I'd say aim up

#

once 1TB becomes too small use that shit as a scratch drive or some shit

#

i still remember doing work on an older computer with sub 8GB of RAM

#

and after a while photoshop doesn't like that

bleak owl

samsung is cheap wutYorkBruh

gloomy tinsel
#

$115, similar performance and endurance to 970 EVO with Toshiba NAND. Anandtech did a review on the Phison E12 controllers used in these - they're really strong

@unborn flicker just get a pi if you want to toy around

subtle hawk
#

tf will u do with 4 gigs of ram on a pi

gloomy tinsel
#

More important is the quality of the SD card

subtle hawk
#

I have my pi 3s running smoothly and they never capped on RAM

gloomy tinsel
#

You want at least a class 10 SD card with good endurance.

Class U3 is probably ideal

#

Pi 3 and 4?

4 has true gigabit Ethernet vs the few-hundred megs on the 3B+ and 100 meg on the 3B. 4 also has 2x microHDMI instead of 1x HDMI, and it has USB 3 ports

#

The SoC in the Pi 4 uses A72 cores, vs A53 cores in the Pi 3B and 3B+. Much higher IPC

#

2-3x perf at the same clocks

#

A heatsink may be prudent, as the Pi 4 runs relatively hot and is known to throttle if run at sustained clocks

#

Active cooling not required, but can be nice to keep temps even lower

#

Due to having USB 3, the Pi 4 is more useful as a NAS, if for whatever odd reason you want to use it for that

#

Also, USB-C power for Pi 4 @unborn flicker

#

Forgot about that

#

Pi 4 supports 4K60

#

technically no

severe falcon
#

high internet more than anything

subtle hawk
#

but if u rlly want ppl to pay attention to your stream then yes

lunar patrol
#

unless you want your computer to become a powerpoint slideshow

severe falcon
#

a decent computer should be able to handle both gaming and streaming

subtle hawk
#

GL streaming smth in max settings

severe falcon
#

well yeah

subtle hawk
#

without a beefy system

severe falcon
#

i mean i cant even play on max settings

#

except warthunder and arma 3

lunar patrol
#

if you have a powerful nvidia gpu but a not-so-powerful cpu you can sacrifice some gpu for encoding using NVENC instead of the standard H264 on the cpu

severe falcon
#

cuz arma 3 loses performance when you turn the textures down

subtle hawk
#

NVENC only works on RTX cards

lunar patrol
#

huh? i've used it on my 1060

#

and i know it def was my 1060 bc my cpu was a pentium g4560 and i was streaming in 60fps (which the pentium most certainly could not handle)

subtle hawk
#

the older cards suffer a big loss for using NVENC compared to the RTX cards

lunar patrol
#

that's true the video quality is noticeably worse than H264 but you can still do it

subtle hawk
#

since the latter have a hardware implemented encoder

#

while the former relies on software

chrome inlet
#

I only use an AMD APU :/

#

no graphics card

severe falcon
#

oh that aint gonna work

chrome inlet
#

because fuck the seller of my pc

#

when I said to build one with ryzen 5 2600 and RX 570

#

but convinced me to use ryzen 3 2200G instead

severe falcon
#

and this is why you build your own computer, no one can talk you into a bad idea

lunar patrol
#

you got swindled my guy

chrome inlet
#

I've never had experience building a pc

#

my extreme anxiety requires me to say no

subtle hawk
#

you need good specs and fast internet to stream well

severe falcon
#

its basically like legos

#

extreme anxiety just means you need to plug the power supply in and touch it every now and then

subtle hawk
severe falcon
#

dont need to worry about static electricty if you ground yourself

chrome inlet
#

besides

subtle hawk
#

No need for ESD if you build your pc in space

chrome inlet
#

my whole family doesn't want me to have a pc with high specs even tho I have money for it
also the reason why I only play free games

lunar patrol
#

i wouldn't exactly say your original r5 2600 + rx 570 was "high specs" in the first place

chrome inlet
#

it's mid-class yes

lunar patrol
#

i think those are very reasonable specs in case your parents were worried you'll get "addicted to your gaming computer" or something like that

subtle hawk
#

@subtle hawk u dum?

severe falcon
#

well better to get addicted now than to get addicted with the freedom of college

subtle hawk
#

static electricity gets generated from friction of 2 materials not material and air

severe falcon
#

but im fairly certain your current comp cant even beat my 7 year old comp

subtle hawk
#

in open space you act like a giant capacitor

lunar patrol
#

@severe falcon i built a gaming computer when i went off to college figuring i'd live it up and play games 24/7

#

ended up just watcing anime and playing AL

#

biggest waste of gtx1060

severe falcon
#

see i actually did play games

#

i woke up at 6 am every day and went to sleep at 2 am

#

even weekends

#

and any time that wasnt classtime was on warthunder or arma

subtle hawk
#

sleep > games

#

you can't change my mind

lunar patrol
#

i'm with @subtle hawk on this i sleep 10-12 hours a day in college

severe falcon
#

yeah im saying its bad what i did

#

cuz i got rekt when i had lots of cal 2 homework

subtle hawk
#

that's what we call a git gud moment

severe falcon
#

yep

#

also me discovering anime didnt help

#

i def ruined what sanity i had left

lunar patrol
#

hey this plex thing seems cool
oh i'll just download some of this anime stuff to add to the server

#

press F for productivity

subtle hawk
#

ah yes plex

#

that one thing that occupies over 12 TB of space on my NAS

severe falcon
#

i watched elfen lied, wanted to stay away from gore and stuff after that

subtle hawk
#

oh boy

severe falcon
#

yeah

lunar patrol
#

close enough

severe falcon
#

turns out "dark haired anime girl with eyepatch" is really common

subtle hawk
#

whoops forgot the /s

#

speaking of streaming, I can probably do a 8K@60 stream without breaking a sweat

severe falcon
#

also i have no idea how my body could run on 4 hours of sleep per day

#

cuz now it doesnt even run on 8

lunar patrol
#

what the fuck kind of nasa computer you got

subtle hawk
#

don't ask

severe falcon
#

yama has an entire server farm under his command

#

he can delete you from the matrix

shadow valley
#

is there a way to disable the bixby button on the s10 PortDoll

subtle hawk
#

no

#

I mean you can disable bixby itself

#

but it won't disable the button

bleak owl
shadow valley
#

PortDoll
the amount of times i've pressed it for vol down

stone wave
#

Some how that's never really been an issue for me on my S10+

#

Maybe it's cause I never set Bixby up

#

at all

shadow valley
#

bixby itself doesn't start up at all but my muscle memory needs some time to adjust
that's where the vol down of my old phone was

stone wave
#

I think you can rebind the Bixby button, I know you could in the past with some workarounds. I've heard it's easier since they introduced OneUI.

#

Never really bothered to do it myself, but you can probably bind it to Vol Down.

subtle hawk
#

@stone wave you can but u need to activate it in the first place

#

also I don't have trouble with volume since I usually control it from the earbuds or the galaxy watch

stone wave
#

programmable keyboard DorkHeart

stone wave

they were from a random novelty set i bought

I do have an alternative, but it's just 2 grey keys that say ANY KEY

severe falcon
#

wait

#

the mythical ANY KEY?

stone wave
#

yes allow me to take a picture

gloomy tinsel
#

That's even more ambiguous

stone wave

teal shale
#

Passing this here because I didn’t knew we had a technology channel and I put this on off topic oof

#

Because of my countries PC part prices, a laptop would be cheaper than building myself a PC with the same parts. A GeForce RTX 2060, a good processor, 2k 144hz monitor, the rest of the parts, a desk, and peripherals would be more than 2000$, but a Dell G7 Gaming with the same specs is cheaper than that, and I dont have to buy a desk or go through the process of building it

#

I thought it would be cheaper to just build a PC myself than buying a laptop but apparently not

tame topaz
#

Gib specific price

teal shale
#

The price is about 1800$ of the bare minimum for a PC and monitor

#

But now that I think about it the processor may not be good enough for the graphics card to do well, its an Intel I5 9400F

#

Oh and the rest of the parts are the cheapest I could find that are compatible

#

Meanwhile the Laptop that I would buy with the same parts would cost 1722$

#

Oh and the laptop has a better processor

tame topaz
#

@teal shale Ryzen?

teal shale
#

Those for some reason are a lot more expensive than intel processors

tame topaz
#

And you may wanna dip the refresh rate a little

#

And woah, another unheard of thing again

#

How expensive is the 3600 there?

#

Or for that matter, 2600?

teal shale
#

The 3600 is 236$ and the 2600 is 162$

#

Wait the intel one is like 180$

tame topaz
#

Where are you from specifically?

teal shale
#

Costa Rica

tame topaz
#

Ah, I see

teal shale
#

Other stores here have even more outrageous prices

tame topaz
#

geez

teal shale
#

This laptop for example

tame topaz
#

2600 might not be a bad idea

teal shale
#

There are places that sell this for 2755$

#

Luckily a friend that is into Gaming PCs told me of a different store that is a lot more common and has actual normal prices

tame topaz
#

btw what's your mobo choice?

teal shale
#

Whats that

tame topaz
#

Motherboard?

#

Also geez, 1650

teal shale
tame topaz
#

Pretty okay choice

#

Like I said, maybe be slightly more conservative with the monitor?

teal shale
#

Maybe but i kinda want to try out 144hz

tame topaz
#

Tried it, it's nice

teal shale
#

Maybe remove the 2K, that would lower the monitor price from 521$ to 282$

tame topaz
#

1080p with a 2060 seems overkill tho

teal shale
#

Also theres no in between for monitors, its either 60hz or 144hz

tame topaz
#

Is it?

teal shale
#

Yea thats why I dont want to downgrade from that

tame topaz
#

2060 non Super or Super?

teal shale
#

Super

#

Theres a 4K 60hz monitor for 415$

#

That might be good

tame topaz
#

@teal shale don't. 2060 isn't cut out for 4K.

#

1080p 144hz seems to be the sweetspot for it.

teal shale
#

If I downgrade the monitor price, I might get the 2070 Super

#

Wait no its still expensive

#

This is hard oof thinking about PC parts that fit together

tame topaz
#

Yeah

#

For Intel, less speedier RAM can be a way to save money as well

#

Unless you wanna go for the 2600

teal shale
#

If I pick the AMD Processor I can use this mother board which is cheaper

tame topaz
#

HDV might as well be too barebones

#

What's the next cheapest board?

#

Might wanna pick something with 4 RAM slots

teal shale
tame topaz
#

This one is nice.

#

Anything close to the price of the Intel board?

teal shale
#

Nope this is the closest

tame topaz
#

Hm

bleak owl
#

Get a msi b450 tomahawk

tame topaz
#

Tomahawk or Mortar. Both are great for overclocking.

teal shale
#

What if I replace the monitor for a 4K one 60hz, and the card for an RTX2070 Super

bleak owl
#

And auto bios flash

teal shale
#

Do you think 16gb ram can run 4K or nay

bleak owl
#

2070s is ok for 4k

#

Yes

tame topaz
#

Thought 2070 Super is too expensive

bleak owl
#

16 GB is enough for everything

teal shale
#

Maybe I can stretch it a bit

bleak owl
#

Do you need 4k?

#

For wut?

tame topaz
#

If 2060 then 1080p 144hz is gud

bleak owl
#

2060 is fine for 1080p

tame topaz
#

You do wanna try out that refresh rate

teal shale
#

Yea u right

tame topaz
#

Save yourself some money

#

And invest in a nicer mobo

bleak owl
#

And u can buy the 3600 with the saved money

tame topaz
#

Yus

#

Superior performance

teal shale
#

Oh right

bleak owl
#

And the b450 tomahawk max is compatible with third gen

teal shale
#

Oh shit oh shit its all getting together

tame topaz
#

Yes...

teal shale
#

Cooling?

bleak owl
#

Or u can go with amd gpu

#

If u are not interested in raytracing

tame topaz
#

You can get away with stock cooler if you don't OC

#

But if you do then show me the catalog for air coolers

teal shale
#

Liquid or air?

bleak owl
#

Depends on ur budget

teal shale
#

Imma send you the site for liquid

tame topaz
#

Air too

#

Keep your budget in check still

#

Also wut's your case choice?

teal shale
bleak owl
#

Cheap liquid cooler is garbage

vagrant holly
#

tbh, there's not point in water cooling nowadays that much

teal shale
#

90$

bleak owl
vagrant holly
#

air cooling is just as good

bleak owl
#

Ehm no

tame topaz
#

In Win? For that cheap?

#

Wut?

bleak owl
#

The front seems closed

tame topaz
#

Yeah

bleak owl
#

Fractal design meshify c

tame topaz
#

Search for this case: Cooler Master NR600

teal shale
#

im sorry this is my first time dealing with parts

tame topaz
#

Gamers Nexus' recommendation

vagrant holly
#

nr 600 or meshify c are good budget options

bleak owl
#

Well u should watch some yt video

vagrant holly
#

very good cooling

bleak owl
#

The meshify c is meshed so yea

vagrant holly
#

possibly get an extra 120mm fan for the nr 600 and you're golden

tame topaz
#

Prices where he is is kinda ridiculous lol

bleak owl
tame topaz
#

That said it might be attributed to his original choice of a 1440p 144hz monitor

teal shale
#

Not in stock

tame topaz
#

F

#

Fractal?

teal shale
#

This is the site

#

Its in spanish tho

#

These are for cooling

#

Oh and yea prices where I live are kinda oof

tame topaz
#

Tricky.

bleak owl
#

Search

#

Sharknoon tg5

vagrant holly
#

what's the budget?

tame topaz
#

No sharkoon as far as I can see

bleak owl
#

1800

vagrant holly
#

your currency, not dollars

bleak owl
#

Sharknoon are pretty good

teal shale
#

Less than 1000000₡

tame topaz
#

The SPEC-04 seems decent

#

@bleak owl I've dug the catalog.

#

No Sharkoon.

bleak owl
#

The spec 04 is JeanDead

teal shale
#

I love how Air is empty with only 4 parts

#

But liquid has like 2 pages

bleak owl
#

Well choice is urs

#

Imo sharknoon is pretty good

tame topaz
#

That is a very limited choice of air coolers.

#

The Aigo water cooler seems good tho.

bleak owl
#

No

#

That's trash

teal shale
#

Super basic heh

bleak owl
#

120 liquid cooler are trash

#

Buy a air one

vagrant holly
#

if you have to go that basic you may aswell go air

tame topaz
bleak owl
#

Sharknoon*

teal shale
#

Ok then from those 4 things which one

bleak owl
#

N missing

tame topaz
#

@bleak owl No results either.

bleak owl
teal shale
#

Check the link

tame topaz
#

And no, it's spelled Sharkoon.

bleak owl
#

Well

tame topaz
#

I know

bleak owl
#

Ah yes

#

Wait let me search a good case

#

And don't buy a 120 liquid cooler pls

teal shale
#

Ok just help me im so confused

tame topaz
#

@vagrant holly with the limited choices of aircoolers (a grand total of 4) he'd be better off buying that 240mm water cooler

bleak owl
#

U can keep stock cooler tbh

teal shale
#

This is new to me i have always been a console peasant

vagrant holly
#

dw about it

bleak owl
#

How about the phanteks p400a

vagrant holly
#

oh shit you're right

#

that's a pretty limited choice dam

bleak owl
vagrant holly
#

WERE MY NOCTUA AT

tame topaz
bleak owl

Hm no

tame topaz
#

Lower than the air coolers, and Aigo is a decent brand.

bleak owl
#

The brand is Kisaxo

#

Very cheap brand

tame topaz
#

The brand is fine! Because I know

#

It used to be a very common brand.

bleak owl
tame topaz
#

@teal shale try looking for air coolers in other places too

teal shale
#

The issue is

#

That this is the only store with decent prices

bleak owl
#

Use the stock one and save moneyMakinaSmile

tame topaz
#

Look nonetheless

teal shale
#

Thats why its curated by PC gamers in this country

bleak owl
#

No amazon?

vagrant holly
#

just check anyway man, you never know

teal shale
#

Hmmmm

#

Ok then

vagrant holly
#

Phanteks p400a

teal shale

Pick one thats epic

vagrant holly
#

don't forget as kakashi said, you can stick to stock

tame topaz
#

Look for Phanteks

teal shale
#

You are helping me you deserve some retribution

bleak owl
#

LaffeyStare retribution?

tame topaz
#

I saw some NZXT cases lower than your choice too

vagrant holly
#

if you feel like the heat is a problem, you can always look for a cooler later on

bleak owl
#

I am doing it for free lol

teal shale
#

Yea but

#

Its my way of thanking you guys

#

Because I dont know where else to go

vagrant holly
#

this is a hobby man, dw about it

bleak owl
#

Nzxt are good looking but 0 airflow

vagrant holly
#

everybody has fun with it

bleak owl
#

The only good imo is the s340 elite

vagrant holly
#

nah the h500 is alright

tame topaz
#

Should you build it yourself, we're here to help with that too

bleak owl
#

Most of them are closed

vagrant holly
#

it's the 510 they kind of screwed

#

500 is ok

bleak owl
#

I dunno why lol

vagrant holly
#

still could do better for the price tho

teal shale
#

Yea nzxt doesnt look good

vagrant holly
#

that's the thing

bleak owl
#

I love nzxt design

vagrant holly
#

for that price there is better that's the only issue

bleak owl
#

But damn why close the case

vagrant holly
#

yeah the price is mostly for the design

tame topaz
#

There's the corsair SPEC-04

#

the SPEC line is legendary by now lol

vagrant holly
#

is the spec 04 good?

bleak owl
#

No its pretty bad

vagrant holly
#

i have a spec 03

#

and it's always done good by me

#

don't know about 04

bleak owl
#

No its pretty bad

#

Corsair cheap case are all bad

tame topaz
bleak owl
#

I know is that

teal shale
#

Ngl that spec-04 looks epic

tame topaz
#

Too bad the NR600 is outta stock

vagrant holly
#

ye but i don't know about the design

bleak owl
#

Just half of the front is meshed

vagrant holly
#

ye the nr600 is sick

#

ye that's the thing

#

the front panel design doesn't convince me

teal shale
#

It does look weird

#

The mesh is not good

bleak owl
#

Try to search noua

#

Wut

#

The mesh is god

vagrant holly
#

mesh is very good

#

it acts as dust cover

#

while not hindering airflow too much

teal shale
#

Gimme options please ill keep looking as well

#

I barely undestand anything about this

bleak owl
#

Ok no noua case that's a shame

vagrant holly
#

i'm just playing around tryin to figure out a build

#

it's with a 3600 right?

teal shale
#

Yes

bleak owl

#

That's glass

#

Bruh

tame topaz
#

#

I'd personally buy that

#

Going any further than his original choice would be going into premium case territory

#

Not exactly a good thing when we're trying to save money

#

ONCE AGAIN, do look in other retailers as well.

vagrant holly
#

b450 is good enough

teal shale
#

I would but theres none other

tame topaz
#

Give us a few websites and we'll peruse through them

teal shale
#

Looked every other national store

#

No luck

bleak owl
#

I saw mesh panel LongCryland

teal shale
#

Theres a reason this place is HUGELY popular here

bleak owl
#

B450 is fine

teal shale
#

Imma go for the mesh

bleak owl
#

X570 is overkill

#

For 3600

vagrant holly
#

you going for ssd or hdd?

tame topaz
#

Ah yeah

bleak owl
#

Ssd pls

vagrant holly
#

couze when it comes to ssd i seldom go for anything other than samsung

teal shale
#

Ssd because f a s t l o a d i n g

vagrant holly
#

and there is no samsung here

bleak owl
#

What store is that

vagrant holly
#

only 1 tb ssd is from gigabyte

teal shale
vagrant holly

#

Yes

vagrant holly
#

bleak owl
#

As I said

teal shale
#

Thats the budget my parents gave me

bleak owl
#

U need a monitor?

teal shale
#

For Graduation gift aka the last gift ill ever get from them

#

There is any store there?

vagrant holly

bleak owl
#

I don't think is a problem

#

He got 1800for a pc

teal shale
#

I mean

vagrant holly
#

PSU efficiency

#

yeah but in the long run it could affect the bill

teal shale
#

This country produces 100% of its energy by renovable sources

vagrant holly
#

oh

teal shale
#

So its kinda cheap

vagrant holly
#

bleak owl
tame topaz

@bleak owl check the link

teal shale
tame topaz

It's sad

bleak owl

But I wouldn't use that for a 1800 pc tbh

tame topaz

As for mobo maybe the B450 Aorus Elite?

We dunno if the b450 aorus elite is upgraded for third gen
