Isn't this an oportunity for consoles to gain more market share. I get that they use components that are going up in price as PC does but maybe they could try old for new program or something similar.

At the previous margins, selling to consumers was pretty much a waste of time and resources that could've been devoted to manufacturing hardware for AI companies, which yields a much bigger return on investment

Selling to companies always made more money, and it had been how nvidia most of their money for a good while now, but with the rise of the AI craze companies increased their demand so much that, as a business decision, it would be stupid not to take advantage of the opportunity

For that budget I would get something 2nd hand earlier. Since GPUs are kinda expensive and ram now too.

CPU doesn't really matter , amd excels at their x3d CPUs though for gaming.
GPU is the most important. And get at least 16gb of ram and at least 500gb of SSD storage for your games even though they prob don't make those anymore so 1tb would be the one to go for.

For gpu anything Nvidia etc 3060 or higher should be enough for 1080p gaming ( with its limitations ofc on how high the framerate can get) you could go for amd or even Intel GPUs too but Intel has some caviats with driver support for games .
