it doesn't harm anything, and dev mode isn't harmful
used to do it on school chromebooks teehee

so at the end of the day the smashed Chromebook couldn't have gotten help
my Chromebook went up into smoke
punted the display a bit too hard
well that's different things. only asus phones are the one that suck
was about to take Zen10 but remembered those problems
Asus laptops usually last very long. but if you don't buy a zenbook/ROG line up their build quality always sucked.
So... I bought this Vivo V15 Phone since May 2019
But, I do have a question
Should I extend my Phone by 2 more years or change my phone now?
Note: No š Allowed
yeah idk about the rog quality on laptops
i have one of their gaming laptops
ga502-ph96 or something
yep this one
Honestly just get a new phone
Pixel 8 just dropped as well, but I'm just waiting a new more months for it to drop its prices
noted
ah yes the civic of gaming laptops
not to mention I still live in 6/64 in the age where 10GBs is normal size for games
no
those zephyruses are known to have tons of issues
as someone once put it
"it's cheap, unmaintained and always filled with biohazards"
also relevant for gaming laptops
"use your laptop on a bed and your GPU will soon be dead"
I'm also considering to replace my 3 year old Redmi Note 9.
it still runs fine, AL and PUBG for example. but the former tends to suffer from slow frames which is weird.
it's also 6/128, but I really wanted to have at least 8 GB
yeah
Yeah I know
Well I wonāt call it cheap
Itās expensive
Outright scammed š

Not the g15
Thing is, the vents come presealed by the manufacturer

Canāt believe it
Arenāt civics reliable tho
So I thought yeah āthinkpads should be more reliable than a gaming laptopā

reliable is relative
I managed to get a battery for my Aorus X7 Pro V3
Even with the CPU limited to 800MHz, only lasts 90 minutes absolutely tops doing web browsing
Main issue is the GPU's both sucking up 10-12W each when idle
Fair
Steam deck is berserk
DRG is fun and all
But wow itās laggin
Well for the hardware in the deck, it runs really well
Man... my phone is start to have its battery gone from 100% to 15% in count of less than 3 hours
Battery is so puny
Back then 4-5 hours and my Vivo V15 is still breathing
heck I can survive from 1 PM to almost 1 AM with my Vivo and have some recordings of a wrestling show
I see them once
Yes this is the Vivo V15 where it has the Pop Up Camera and no annoying notch/punch hole
73Wh
I didn't know they made laptops with 4 lanes of ram
Laptops without four SODIMM slots aren't too common
my laptop when it has only 8 gb rams and 256 gbs storage : 3 hours no charger, no problem
my laptop now(16 gb ram, 512 storage): 30 mins-1,5 hours of no charger, sometimes goes as fast as 5-15 mins
It can't fit a 99Wh.
RAM and storage have basically no impact on battery life. You can buy a more powerful laptop and have it last just as long as a weaker laptop off the wall with the proper settings
Skill issue
Thatās why gaming laptops suck
Small battery with a high tdp cpu+gpu
it's from 2015 w/ SLI
No, most gaming laptops don't suck. Plenty modern models fit 99Wh batteries and have great power efficiency
I think you don't really know what you're talking about. Just wanted to show off my cool laptop
I think you donāt want to accept that gaming laptops arenāt good
I do know what Iām talking about lol
It may not be FOG levels of intelligence
But Iām not blurting random stuff out
Just soujds like you have a hater boner towards gaming/powerful laptops and frankly it's your loss
I bought this laptop with full knowledge of the awful battery life it'd have
Well infact I got it for free anmd bought the battery later
I daily drive it
It's clear you have no friends. My condolences
Anyways, I think the slave GPU is dead which sucks
If anybody knows some free software that can test SLI/has SLI compatibility then LMK
you do know there are 99Wh gaming laptops as well
you are equating what Ittx's laptop can't fit and generalising them to all gaming laptops
Have I said that gaming laptops donāt have 99Wh batteries?
Even so, their processors will drain them very quickly
Do you guys think this is a good deal?
anyone here using 3+ monitors
Why do you ask
i want to know if i can extend a laptop monitor to one monitor and copy on another
You could try
Helps if you make custom code for it
windows settings only show duplicate on 1,2 and extend on 1,2
Could try and do custom code to make it possoble
"custom code" is not a silver bullet
windows simply cannot do such fine grained control
Meh still could try
do you even know what to change and what to look for when you mention custom code?
What I mean by custom code is using visual studio to make a program or patch to make it possible
....that's not how it works
Still could try
If you are ignorant on something, it can be better to simply not comment
i think this is used in situations where you would potentially want dual monitors but close the laptop screen. should still be doable but i havent set something like that up sense XP days
I found that option to work only until you unplug the monitors or they restart causing the ordering to fuck up
Isn't it easier to use with multiple GPU and multiple video outputs??
okay so nothing has changed and it works PERFECTLY then
because for some reason windows internally uses the monitor IDs in the order they got identified
so if god forbid say monitor 3 got detected earlier it's now monitor 2 or 1
Bad enough my current rig has trouble detecting my TV which is always plugged into it
yes yes as intended and how everyone wanted it to be
no you're the weird one for wanting that situation to go ANY other way
lmfao
have you tried using another cable?
It's not the cable
rip
The computer is from Windows 7 era
I can feel the sarcasm from all the way over here
And since it was originally a laptop, in which I need the original display for it to work, it even harder
Cause I have to turn on the TV first for it to output to it properly instead of not detecting its plugged in
I've had a TV that caused a similar issue but it was my TV not my laptop. basically if the TV had no video input the moment it turned on, the TV would shut itself off.... so my computer had to be on first THEN my TV could turn on...
made changing BIOS settings an absolute ngihtmare as well because the Logo screen was like 30 seconds long... then it would shut itself off immidiently after POST
this was like 15 years ago but i still remember that TV and how much i fucking hated it lol
if im not being sarcastic it means im bored or im upset lol
My TV is new
yeah its highly unlikely your having the same issue i was, just made me remember the good ol days
Lmao wait for black friday deals
I'm sticking with the 7 Pro. I'm very excited to see if they improved the Tensor much. The Pixels are amazing phones but the CPU is the singular weakness
Am I the only one who likes a slight curve?
As a person with a redmi note 9 pro
2 years old now
Im so desperate to upgrade rn
Yeah, ouch, can't imagine
And not really, I find the curves that be rather nice
Since you have a pixel
Does it over heat often
Or is it a gamble
I'm pretty concerned about thermals on the pixel 8 Pro since I'm planning to use it for at least 4 years
check out the LTT video about watercooling your phone xD
So far, I haven't seen as many overheating complaints, but it's still early days.
šmore ignorant than me
Pixel 7 is okay
It gets a tad bit warm in the occasion
But not oneplus levels of hot
Their heat dissipation so good the entire phone is always hot
sounds like toaster internet to me
done before I could take a screenshot
It is
Also bugged app
Restarted the app and download went ok
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ
They call them gateways here
A modem + router combo in one
Fiber connects into the tower, which also broadcasts internet
Seems Out of my budget
my budget for my phones at most are 400-500 US$, no more, lesser is better
And no, no old phones as well, they gonna cripple me long term via updates and stuff
I don't think that was for you
500USD is a plenty fine budget for a phone that isn't old
Mid range yeah
I kinda just think that going a little bit older (just android issue) would be fine
Google pixels are okay
Software is nice
I see 7/7a used for mid 300s. Maybe one of those?
Or see if you can score an 8 on Black Friday/Cyber Monday.
lol. there's the Oppo Find N3 Fold
Yeah
I know, just commenting
some chinese phones are like... 200-300 US$ and they run just fine for gaming and have decent cameras
500 US$ is mid range and should be more than enough for daily drive, decent camera for event documentations and necessary photos only(that doesn't need a very great quality camera), good enuff for Genshin/HSR/AL/AK/insert games here and maybe PSP/DS Emulation(for some people), and more than enough storage to keep most games
Heck you would be shocked when you know a phone that has 24/1TB and quite strong, yet priced below 700 US$
Bluestacks eats too much storage even though i only play azur lane
Bluestacks as a program isn't that large
While Azur Lane is like 12GB with all assets downloaded
Neither of their sizes are anything of a concern to the average computer with 1TB+ or even 500GB
can i ask that my old facebook bind to game is lost due to hack so can i send mail to get dev disconnect for me because i already have a gmail bind also ?
use the clean data button of BS
BS has this tendency to keep allocating data unused
I once had my BS instances take like 100GB even tho it should have been 60 at mosst
oky ty
Its done... before and after....
I still have to clean up some cables from the ceiling but the rack is much much neater and im very happy
this is now livable
Fr, it was such a pain in my ass to diagnose anything, plus all 15 phones were on punch down pannels with 3 to 4 inches u shielded.... im assuming there was a good amount of crosstalk and im betting call quality its going to go up tomorrow morning.
Thanks š
15??
Crazy
yeah they have VoiP phones and they were all on a patch pannel with this style punch down
but the tech who installed in peeled back the shielding about 3 inches so you had 3 or 4 lines getting their pairs in contact
but now its all in keystone jacks
much better for signal isolation
those are SUCH a royal PITA
frfr
the pannle also was so old it was a 'CAT 5' punch pannel
and out of all the techs that were there before me no one took the time to update the patch pannel
I got 4 of these and only used 3
such an easy fix but ppl lazy
what kind of network is this for?
I decided that I'm going to learn Assembly.
Does anyone have any tips who's experienced with that language?
Sounds fairly useless
what for
one does bot simply learn assembly, it's not a programming language
Small business about 25 employees. 15 if them are decktops + phones in the office the rest are mechanics. They have 15 cameras as well for their large retail section.
Two servers running AD DS, printers, dns, fileshare... the basic stuffs.
Just to learn
Reasons for that being?
because it doesn't have a practical application
i mean if you want to understand a very deep level of computer architecture then assembly is fine to learn. if you want something that is going to be practical ever then maybe pick something else š
even then assembly will not help you much with that
you're better off learning the theory first
why is data stored the way it's stored and how do processors process that data
true, but sometimes people need a project and to see it in action
well then disassemble a program and take a look
but there's going to be a metric ton of overhead
im very much like that, if i study it i could repeat the info but if im not DOING it i wont understand it
lmao yeah
AD DS?
uh what does that acronym mean
active directory domain services
Truthfully, I want to develop my own OS even though i'm a complete beginner at this stuff.
Youāre aiming really high
I thought most people have projects like that?
is it really???
welp, Imma still do it anyways, even if it burns away all my sanity
no they don't lmao
a OS is a very high complexity "childish" idea
I'd suggest trying out something more simple before going further
Unless yer crazy like Terry Davis...
Hi, everyone how am I supposed to get the cosplay role in this server ?
top tip: try to make a small Linux distro.

Just asking, do you guys think it's worth getting a huawei tablet?
And how hard is it to get google services on?
Because this deal is pretty hard not to pass up on ngl
no idea
idk, I'm not a tablet user, unless you count the surface pro as a tablet
but personally I'd go for a samsung one
Probably yer best Android-side option.
Speaking of Tablets, Ram isn't the same as processor, right? And what specs should I be looking for to run games like AL smoothly?
RAM is memory, the actual processor is the CPU, the CPU, GPU and a few other things use the RAM to operate, the RAM is a temporary storage for small amounts of data
So Ram is related to background stuff like notifications?
No
RAM temporarily stores data the CPU and gpu uses
Hence the name, random access memory
More is generally better, right?
More capacity yes
But there's also transfer speeds which play a part
High speeds is good more capacity is always good
Generally, 4 GB is usually enough for most stuff
But higher performance stuff like majority of games requires more then 4 GB
So the 3GB ram on my tablet might be holding it back?
On mobile devices it's hard to find one with more than 4 GB
But the transfer speeds is another factor
The GHz processor speed?
No that's how fast the processor runs, transfer speeds is how many data transfers the RAM can handle per second
The GHz is how fast the CPU or gpu clock runs, faster is generally better cause it means the processor can do the tasks faster
Mobile processors are about the same, so IPC doesnāt have a play
Well in the android space all tablets suck ass anyway
Newer generations will always perform more efficiently (greater performance per watt) (CPU)
Really depends
The CPU only needs as much as it needs to process
If itās a sharty old operating system, it might not need as much
Or if youāre running light tasks, it might not use as much
GHz is well, how many calculations the CPU can do in a second
GHz is cycles per second. A CPU can perform many calculations per cycle.
The real way to tell if x device can run y is to just install it and see. You'd know if RAM is holding ou back because your RAM would be full. If it isn't full, it isn't really holding you back. An Android tablet w/ 3GB RAM probably just has some few years old low-end CPU/GPU and the way to improve performance besides making sure unnecessary crap ain't running is to just buy a better device. A mobile device with x processor can perform worse or better by a noticeable margin than a mobile device with an identical processor. When it comes to gaming performance, nobody does like 50 game benchmarks for every phone, if any phone, so it;s just down to buying a good device and then loading up whtever you want to do and seeing how it performs
Where did half of my message go?

YouTube enforcing adblocking ban...
yep
painful
but there has to be a way for youtube to earn money
not google, youtube
google has the money, youtube doesn't /j
Try to think to watch without ads then
The riskier one is using Y2mate and download your vids(this way, you will see no ads)
Riskier to your phone/pc storage
and tbh, 360p/720p is decent already
No point of having it on 1080p/4K/8K
I just livewith it
I'd care more if Premium was actually an upgrade, instead of paying their asses for shit they removed from the basic experience. Or priced in tiers. Yer charging for YT Music as well, and most folk'd just want the absolutely fucktarded amount of video-interrupting ads gone.

Doesn't quite work like that. Infact, compared to modern processors, older Celerons have god awful power efficiency

Our last review -- so far, anyway -- for the Intel 14-series CPUs covers the Core i5-14600K. Benchmarks largely focus on the 14600K vs. the 13600K, the AMD Ryzen 5 5800X3D, the R7 7800X3D, and other flanking Intel and AMD CPUs. Thus far, we've been unimpressed by the Intel Core i...

Damn
Yes
They got nothing, it's a spam mail that's supposed to make you think they got something
That should be in your spam email anyway
Are you opening your spam email?
Unless it's from somewhere you know, you really shouldn't
oh
wait I'm curious now
there's downsides to opening a mail? they can really see it?
I'll remember to not open them next time. this one came up as a notification, and I clicked on it
spam typically goes into spam, but this one didn't.
Emails are a very common way for a virus to get o to your device, moment it opens or you down load an attachment, the virus auto installs itself, so unless your expecting a specific email or know a specific sender to be true, delete it. The title of the Email also can be a give away
i see
ouch
I think I opened it on my iPhone
it shouldn't affect much?
since it isn't a windows device
Not entirely sure with mobile devices
is there even decent sub 90W CPU for this gen?
Planning to upgrade once I have the money, and the 5600G Tray sale really tempts me because the 7000 series is still out of my price range
but not sure if DDR4 will be viable in the long run as I want this system to be a separate one from my current 4790
ok thanks
Anyone here knows a note taking app on ipad that is good and completely free?
No subscription or one time payments
WDYM by thatv
Sure you're buying the very last generation of that socket and also RAM, but it can still last you years. Depends on your upgrade cycle, because if you have very long cycles then you could be upgrading by the time AM6 comes around
Me who has a AM4 socket and DDR4
Uh cool, hundreds of thousands of others do too
Honestly, when I do upgrade eventually imma just reuse my old parts for like...a server or something
Or just sell them
I'd rather keep using em
And considering I'm wanting to do AI stuff (totally having fun trying to figure out the code), it would be good to have an array that I could use like a super computer
Continue telling yourself that

?
My bad
iPhones donāt have the battery to last
2 hours of genshin and 50% my battery is gone
Wow @slate cape you really getting discounts
Lucky you
I'm thinking if DDR4 could make it as AMD just shifted to DDR5 for this gen tbf
because my current system is very old and will use it for mostly retro/backwards compatibility gaming once I have my new parts
4790 like I said
as Ryzen 5xxx series has very tempting deals here rn
If you're building a completely new PC, AM4 is an ok deal money wise but the platform is only getting support until 2025
And you also risk finding yourself with a board that doesn't have tpm 2.0, which means no windows 11
And windows 10 also happens to go end of life in 2025
Just get an am5 board now so you will save in the long run
Or you'll find yourself looking for a new PC in just 2 years time
If 7000 is out of your price range, save up
It'll only be more expensive in the long run if go to AM4 now
technically, I can jump the TPM 2.0 req but every major update is gonna bork it and Nadela (read: MS) will make the installation revert anyway.
SEA hardware prices are very volatile rn because of high exchange rate, couple that with very low wage, and my only choice for new parts is to finance it with high rates.
enough to afford 1 year worth of rent.
also only CPU and GPU for the most part. Board and Memory prices are surprisingly stable
Yeah idk how to help you that's rough
well, there's always the option of collecting 1 part at a time
You guys get cyber monday deals?
It's around the corner basically
Getting one part at a time is hard
Like you can start with components that don't exactly age all that bad like a PSU and fans I guess
Maybe even ram
there are tech deals but not for the latest and greatest
But a CPU and a GPU are ehhh
AMD is going to come up with new 7k skews not too long from now from what I heard
Check if the the current skews drop in price then
Or again, have a go during cyber monday
prolly not but boards are cheap
Now, everytime I enter youtube on PC, Youtube try to force their ads on my adblock plus added browser
They tried and failed
All I need is F5 and bye bye
Youtube: WHY WON'T YOU SEE OUR ADS JUST FOR ONCE?!?!?!?!?!?!
Me: Nu!
Youtube: WE WILL FORCE IT!
Me: GTFO to another browser (Chromium and their friend who doesn't allow what Google try to do to force their ads) and put Adblock Plus
Youtube: REEEEEEE!!!!!!
Bruh
It really depends on your upgrade cycle because as I said, if it's long enough, you could skip AM5 completely if you go for like a 5800X3D and keep it a few years
That I would highly recommend against
Me who's already doing it
Good for you
I only need the CPU, psu, and SSD and I'm good to go
Considering I already have a copy of Windows 10 installer on a USB
I probably go with 5600x or 5700x because 5800x3D stock is kinda... rare.
that being said, I will need a new 650-800 ish power supply as well as GPU, since I can just keep using my hyper 212 evo for cooling
from a randomly useful youtube short
Neat
Go to Windows 11 because it's a free upgrade to that OS
Either continue with it or upgrade to 11
I'll be continuing with it for as long as I possibly can
but like windows 11 ain't that bad
I prefer 10
i prefer macos
most of the complaints are its almost bloatware-like nature that many users don't need
also the obvious move to cloud so to speak
Mmm
how much storage in PC that you can live in comfort for
also if anyone want to do this (again, I don't buy them for ya, me nu hap za muni)
what is your dream PC Specs
I live off of 1TB
Hmmm... 1-2 TB is the current standard of today's time eh
Yes, has been for a while
Honestly, with how large games are getting, I'm tempted to go 4 TB.
Speaking of which, is it better to get 2 TB drives or just one 4tb drive
Which ones more cost effective
4TB seems the best one obv is you're planning to have large modern games sit inside your computer
I still pick 2TB cuz I don't need 4TB lol
also 1TB+ drives is somewhat uncommon in my country
I got a 2tb Samsung 970 evo plus for around 150 sgd
And eh its not too bad
You're just saving about 20-40 dollars
Yeah
For an SSD larger is fine
Higher TBW, same level of reliability
I donāt know about hard drives tho
2-4tb is a nice spot
Well, considering that HDD is where I put my legacy games and anime/doujins, I would say 4-8 TB is the sweet spot for me
Fair point
I'm fine with 500 GB-1TB SSDs because I will wear them to failure
not to mention read-write rates
especially with modern games and software
2 x 2
if one fails you lose half the data
unless you go for redundancy
I'm kinda leaning towards redundancy
like
4 TB for perhaps lifetime data
2 TB for semi-permanent data
2 TB for easy transports
Hmmm... Oh ok...
Guys i need some advice i want to upgrade my CPU.
CPU: Ryzen 5 2400g
GPU RX 5500XT
Ram: 16gb 3200mhz (2x8gb) Mainboard A320M -k
i thought about the r5 3600
( i bought this PC with 8gb Ram and without the GPU (since i had a APU) and i thought i would only play league of legends. Big mistake .Nox and Bluestacks lag hardcore maybe 30fps and i have stuttering in games like phasmo )
Keep your 2400G and wait to perform a larger upgrade
yeah keep ur setup as is and if you're going for an upgrade then upgrade to DDR5 and the newest chips
the 3600 won't make much of a difference
emulators in general chug because they're emulators
Tbh i only want games to reach 60fps+ on highest settings
if you want smooth performance play them on the device they're intended for, phones
metro exodus is sometimes unplayable on mid/high settings
Your setup is for mid-high 1080p 60FPS gaming. There will obviously be exceptions to that, games that run worse or way better than such
for example I have a i7-8700K overclocked and a 1080 Ti and that's still more than plenty for most games to run maxxed out
and I don't need to upgrade it for now unless I need more CPU power which I do need for my workloads nowadays
Emulators are always tough. I run Bluestacks on my 6800K and some games are really crappy while others run pretty fine
I was kinda pissed because of the low fps. i compared the r5 3600 with my 2400g and thouhgt of upgrading since its only 80ā¬
hm fine
like I'd upgrade if you are sure the CPU AND GPU are being bottlenecks to something much better
but keep in mind such an upgrade would cost at least 500 euros since you'll be replacing mobo, RAM, CPU and GPU
GPU would affect FPS most, but then any bottlenecks your CPU may already be showing will be escalated, which could lead to a better but more inconsistent experience
but the improvement in performance and efficiency as well as value is gonna be way better than just a small CPU upgrade
5800X3D (if you can find it cheap AF used), 7600X3D and 7700X3D/7800X3D are probably the three chips I would call worthwhile to upgrade to as a gamer, but all will cost a fair bit. For that cost, you will get a CPU that should last for many years with not a single issue though
Bottleneck calculation for AMD Ryzen 5 2400G and AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT for General Tasks. Containing solutions how to resolve bottleneck.
guess ill just save money and buy everything completly new.
Don't bother with some weird ass calculator. You can tell a bottleneck by observing your system for yourself
that is a good plan
Guys i need to drop this story here: I ordered 1x8gb RAM from Amazon. They told me it would come within 2 days. It didnt. After that they told me to wait another 3 days. Didnt come either. They refunded my money and i ordered a new one. 2 days later i get both RAM sticks
yeah that happens, and it's funny
Got those sussy dudes two days ago
Still shocked of what they can
If you look for IEMs, this is one of the best choices I've ever met
Tanchjim Oxygen
"279$"
Bought them with 209
They totally do cost their 279
No idea why shops low the price
They can outperform even 850$ IEMs
And my DT 770 Pro and 1770 Pro
@gilded inlet
looks good
Yo
That happened with me and my TV, but the courier was global express
USD
And they totally worth it till every cent
Hmmmmm
Iāll believe you when my gaming headphones break down
they produce audio
Not great audio, but audio
How so?
Whatās so special about it
They play more clear than everything I've ever heard
They completly outperform DT 1770 Pro in everything
I see
But wouldnāt headphones sound better
More space for audio performance
Or whatever itās called
Stage?
Width of stage?
Well, sorry then, but I want to ask opposite question
What were your the best of headphones you've heard
Usually, when ppl talk about IEMs, they hold apple airdicks 1/2 pro as reference
I'd love to say, stage width is separation of every single sound you hear
Better to experience it yourself, because explanation of this is quiet bent to individual
None
They all sounded ass to me
I can't place my opinion as the truth itself
Fair enough
But as I have this... and it kills both DT 770 and DT 1770 (I guess I will sell them)... I can say those worth anyones' attention
Well uh
Kinda the best sounding stuff I have is the Kanto YU6
Speakers
Not headphones
š
But I think they last
Cuz I donāt have to put it over my head
And my ears are waxy
IEMs never fit well
My man, if you are into speakers, and you dislike headphones in existance... better stay with speakers
Oh man, I see... Oxygens have one of the worst ergonomics
š
Well not that I dislike them
But if they fit ā they must meet all the expectations of good IEMs
Yeah
Highs... I do not remember... everything I remember is that they will hurt ears on high volume
Idk, to my mind Oxygen has one of the best balances...
As you can see, Oxygens are metal, too
But it makes some trouble due to living in Russian Siberia
-47°C won't make me happy this winter
Brain freezes
-1c already got me shivering my timbers
Well itās free cooling for my devices
They work less
Third day of owning, still "Wow" effect
Not bad not bad
My personal āwowā thing currently is the steam deck
Handheld x64 gaming is such a blessing
Funny thing, it was twice the price on release, even if you convert them in dollars
Remember those 1800$...
Too much even for me
(I'm a student)
(That bought rtx 4080 this autumn)
God
500 bucks and handheld gaming
Itās enough for me
If I really had to Iād run it on my Mac
I won't see this prices anymore š
Deck
I have only weak laptop now
š
5600h??
Wow my gaming laptop has a 4900hs
That thing exterminates my m2 pro for fun
This HS makes sense when it comes to TDP
Yeah
But when it comes to temps
It becomes nonsense again
I agree
Engineers of laptops
Mm yeas
It must depend on vendor, I'd like to say
Asus rog
G15 GA502
The one with the blocked vents

Never let asus cook up products
They suck
They do not change cooling system with CPUs
Though, they are too stupid to put Vapor Chamber in it
Like Lenovo did with their Legions 7 (16IAX7) and now both: some 7th and 9th
The problem is the price
I'd love to buy (was like to buy, dollar to ruble ratio suck now) Legion 7 16IAX7 year ago
Glad I did my choice to rtx 4080 in my PC
gorgeous thing
But it's 1058km from me now
Flex from afar...
... I bought 4080 to sit in AL
...
š
The fun
I delete files off of the deck to see how far I can go without it dying
Although, man, if you have money and you want good IEMs, better sell krakens and get Oxygens, solving the problem of fitting with KBEAR's tips on the nozzels
I'm sure they won't disappoint.
Hey but 269USD is a high bar for me rn
I dumped a lot into the deck
It took me quite a long time to save up (~1 year?)
It was an impulse purchase after all
I can deal with one shop in aliexpress
They will do 60$ off
As I've done with mine
To my mind, they still have no rights to play better than 850$ segment
But they freaking do.

Though, watch others' opinion on them, if you decide to buy those.

Tanchjim Oxygen IEM review
2nd best IEM for myself. 1st best in price to performance.
I LOVE these iems.
Thanks š
(This looks like #@%^@& ad, but I'd love everyone to have those)
I did not have such impressions even after hearing sennheiser HD800s
They must be good good
Waxy ears?
I tend to have them
Also are those TWS?
Nah, I prefer wired ones
ok
That's not weak
Sorry
Not how that works at all
You mean you bought a laptop with shit cooling
AKA a shit laptop
Eyy yoo is thicker thermal pads effecting how it's work?
What thickness thermal pad you need depends very specifically on the model of laptop/GPU and exactly where that pad is being put
Lmao, I have the right to say so, just because of i9 9900K in my PC
No you don't have a "right" to say so
That 5600H isn't that far off a 9900K while drawing a fraction of the power lmaoooo
Okay, and?
Intel ones do too
It has nothing to do with AMD
It's to do with the laptop
My laptop has awful cooling
It's not Intel's or NVidia's fault
it's generally because most fucking laptop manufacturers generally don't put as much thought into the chassis design of AMD laptops over Intel laptops
Lmao no it isn't
What a random ass take with absolutely no basis
Fun fact: many manufacturers re-use chassis designs for both AMD and Intel variants of a laptop, and even across generations
"This laptop has shit cooling"
Yeah, because the laptop is shit, not due to AMD who actually have amazing mobile chips as of late
AMD chips are great, laptop manufacturers with their chassis not so much
There are AMD laptops with good cooling and AMD laptops with bad cooling
There are Intel laptops with good cooling and Intel laptopss with bad cooling
It has nothing to do with manufacterers deciding to put an AMD chip in their laptop and going "Eh you know what, fuck this, let's just give it a crap cooling system because why not"
Genuine mental gymnastics
I'm not saying that OEMs are doing it out of malice. It's just that AMD compared to Intel has been piss poor at giving OEMs technical support. Coupled with AMD being well known for having supply issues with mobile chips and you can see why laptops with OEMs tend to give lesser care to AMD laptop platforms.
AMD Advantage was a good start in helping OEMs design for AMD, but they still have to fix their supply issue or else OEMs won't bother as much with AMD models because why design a good laptop if supply of chips for said laptops are almost always hard to find

Which brings me to one thing I hate about AMD laptops. The good models are almost always out of fucking stock due to AMD's poor supply for the mobile market. For AMD it kind of makes sense tho: Why focus on the relatively low margin high volume mobile market vs high margin currently high demand enterprise and datacenter market.
ittx is a really good troll
Theyāre out of stock?
Most the time I just see laptops sitting there
Neglected
I get the love for the AMD chipsets, because I also like them
Itās unfortunate that itās being put into laptops that have shitty cooling
Please wake up
Please wake up
Lmfao
Well for me the only exception is the steam deck
Surprisingly good cooling
TDP limited 15W @ 70C
could also say your 9900K is weak cause i have a better CPU
š
i think this problem affects both parties, you run into power/thermal throttling on almost every gaming laptop extremely easily
ASUS for example, while they dont thermal throttle (in my experience) they power throttle extremely early and pretty much handicap the CPU regardless of whether its on AMD or intel platforms
boards supply the CPU with too much voltage aswell, which also affects the desktop market, but its less worse on the mobile market
Oh right boards supplying too much voltage
Most manufacturers tend to just go for the safest default that won't cause too much instability
which in most cases imo is just a tad bit high
it can be looked at two ways, you need more voltage than usual to ensure stability because not every CPU performs the same
but most of the time its way too much
yes
Well, it was on release when I came up with building a computer. i9 9900K was the best solution back then
Now I'll wait for 19900K release and then I will watch who can offer me best performance; AMD or Intel
CPU performance is useless for me now
its an interesting competition at the moment considering both have architectural differences in them, and one draws as much as a space heater while the other one draws half as much
I have enough of it since everything I do is packaging ZIPs etc
isn't AMD planning their own Heterogenous architecture as well?
no clue, i dont really read that much about AMD lol
I'm interested how'd they go over it on the consumer space since afaik they're testing it out on EPYC
I don't care, because my second project, as the first was, will be on custom water cooling system
While I do care how much it will cost
Better to hear if you do have a better GPU :/
ive been thinking of going custom water cooling myself aswell but the cost is driving me away from it, and knowing how much i tinker it's gonna likely be a pain in the ass in the long run
idk what GPU you have lol
4080
i am running a overclocked 4090
Overclocked...
yes
500W
I did undervolt it
I think more
depends on the load but yeah somewhat
I was gonna ask if it was a KINGPIN card then I remembered EVGA doesn't make cards anymore
nah, its a founders one lol
Giving it 270W
i did try undervolting aswell, think mine averaged in around 320W or so
indeed, it took a while to save up for a single 4090 let alone two of them lol
Idk undervolting is the best feature of RTX4000 series
Wait 2? What you need 2 for?
What's your workload like
i dont need two of them, but i dont have a need for a dedicated overclocking card
mainly 4k gaming, with the occasional blender rendering
Heās a pro at gaming
its overkill regardless, and stupidly fast in blender as i dont do much complicated stuff
with how games are being released now, a 4090 will be minimum for 4k in 3 years lol
First build was like this... I was like, eh... 14 y.o. while building it by myself
with cities skylines 2 i felt like my 4090 was suddenly equivalent to integrated graphics
What case is that
I've been trying to find a case that has more than 2 3.5in drive slots
that still has a glass panel
i like that GPU block lol
Corsair graphite 760T, it was my dream to have this case since my the most favorite let's player had it
I was silly I know
It was 2080S
god damn
I'm still proud of my PSU
It will never die in terms of value
Seasonic prime ultra 80+ Titanium 1kW
12 years of warranty...
That does not work since that dirty shitty war
thats a high quality one lol
wait you got a Prime Ultra 1000w? damn
if you wanna compare
I' pretty much sure it will supply 1200W system at ease
not sure how much mine can actually handle, but i have hit close to the supposed rating a few times
What's your PSU
I hope they stoppeddoing weird things with their PSUs
wdym?
Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 1000W http://slmrt.ru/aLvb
Seasonic Prime Ultra Gold 750W http://slmrt.ru/aMvb
Seasonic FOCUS Plus Platinum http://slmrt.ru/aCQ
Seasonic FOCUS Plus Gold 550W http://slmrt.ru/a5O

Enermax MaxTytan 800W http://slmrt.ru/aNvb
Enermax Platimax D.F. 750W http://slmrt.ru/aPvb...
That's not yours, but close one
4:39
older unit, maybe its different on V2's
dunno
doesnt bother me
i could swap it out if i have a PSU failure again, but itll probably be fine
I think so
Tho, I bought it from Germany
Since in Russia it was Ć2,5 price
I hate this prices
And now I can't buy anything from Europe X(
jfc
it means jesus fucking christ
Yeah
I totally agree
I made calculations back then
"If I buy all components in Russia"
It could cost me 740 000ā½
But I did it with 350Šā½
i was about to ask the hell were you building that would cost you that much but to count in that 2.5x pricing, itās insane lol
seems pretty fucked over there, sorry to hear that
Man I've killed the system
Nothing to sorry about here
People are okay with this prices, they eat whatever shops give to them
they dont really have a choice, so they just kinda have to accept it i suppose
I did not
But now even I do not have the choice
Compday is dead for Russians
Oh
Sorry
I mistaken the shops
huh?
ComputerUniverse is dead for Russians
ooh
Compday still works just because it's russian shop... that somehow held MSRPs when it was scalpers period
I still remember that 3080 for 356 000ā½...
5 000$ (dollar was 72)
a friend of mine bought a 3080 ti back in scalper days for 2100 euros
Oh, I made a mistake, 343 000ā½ (4 763$)
I was without GPU for all the time of scalping period
holy moly
I sold my 2080S just before the release of RTX3000 series
In hope to buy new 3080
How stupid I was
Two years without GPU were hell of 400Ć300 resolution
On 27" 2560Ć1440p monitor
It was better than Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 on release of the game
same energy
That's true!
Resell value of anything is worse than you just using it
400x300 is horror
I'm still using the good ol' CX550 (grey label of course). It just sucks that it's non-modular, the one and only issue w/ it as a unit
Corsair is good
oh yeah @maiden thorn currently i use the speakers built into the macbook
imo they're very nice
ofc they can't replace anything
but it does sound nice (2023 m2 pro 14")
I never ever heard how a macbook sound
Only thing I got freaked out with is airpods 2 pro connected to iphone 13
The sound was dirty, it gave me no expressions at all
So, I have no big expectations for any of apple audio devices
dies due price
~2600$ for minimum of storage and RAM
For work out of home it can be great solution I guess
I wonder what do you do on this laptop
What exceptional it can offer you to make you choose macbook over other laptops
(I'm very "neutral" to apple devices)
MacOS
Extremely light
Sleek and minimal
Silent
Highly performant in particularly CPU tasks
Great battery life for its performance
I won't disagree
Thing is
16gb of ram on macOS is a lot
I always thought AirPods sounded good
Thatās how bad the gaming headphones were
But yeah Iād advise not to get a MacBook unless you really need that battery life
And thereās MacOS apps of the things you need
My MacBook has been on the same table, same spot for like 4 months now
I used to 32Gb (I know I'm fat face)
I used to have 16 I think
On all my laptops
Optimization canāt beat brute forcing tho
16 was meta until cockwarts legacy entered the chat

Give me at least 480Hz display for GD and those 480 fps minimum
Jesus Christ
I have 120hz only
Gaming is fine on battery
It drops hard tho
I remember the game start struggling when battery percentage entered 3%
I share game time on grind games with Geometry Dash in parallel
Youāre grindy
I just play DRG and genshin for fun
Which is why I really never cared if it ran bad
And still game engine sucks: more fps you get ā the easier the game (usually)
So, 360+Hz is musthave in the game (fps is bent to display refresh rate)
++
Over 3000 hours in a platformer
I suck
What
I only got 120h most in a game
And thatās from me idling
GTA online obviously
Wanna play together?
That was the best rejection I've ever heard
Nah I just donāt have notifications on
Cuz I cycle between many servers
It takes sometimes a few hours or days to view messages
Why? I donāt want to install the rockstar launcher
- I game only on the steam deck
Hey
Giys
Guys
And womens
Work in progress
Need another 1ru fans
And a pdu
Australia summer going make this a fucking over
There one cooling the HFC (hybrid fibre coaxial)
Router
Controller
Eyyy fellow aussie
I can tell due to the NBN box
Cool
Belfast is cool
