welcome to the server world
and now you reminded me this weekend I should work on mine

Also I've a question

which is?
well u see
so i bought a 2nd hand switch
2,5gb but i can't find any data of it
as in switch for network switch?

ah
netgear ms305e
I wonder if the version name changes based on region
because the only one with the MS is the dutch one
hm
idk dont ask me

with name schemes?
Like i bought and he said, well you're prob the first one who has it here
Hmmmm
He said they come out in like half a year
is it like a preprod model?

anyways if it works fine im happy with it
yeah thats the main reason I want one
current cap is like 110.
yes same
my pc supports 2,5 though
Pretty sure GS is Gigabit
MS for 2.5G, and FS for 100M
there's methods to this madness
Won't sell in US from what I've heard, though I'm switching to Samsung in August anyways
I'm done with off-brands that no one cares about
its weird why they dont sell in US
it big market
and small market like my country sells normally
Well it's first phone by Carl Pei after leaving OnePlus so it appears that he's testing the grounds first, from what I can tell
But either way, personally, not interested

They don't ship them over here so not interested
Some shops will sell in US
$500 for SD778G, lol
I actually like the aesthetics of the Nothing Phone (1) but no smartphone company is gonna outperform Google in terms of proper software support
Sure, Apple has a very extensive software support for older iPhones but obviously no one wants iPhones unless if you live in reality, in which iPhones still sell and maintains a massive marketshare in many first world countries, because of everything to do with marketing
And thus, this is why I recommend people (who already upgraded their phones in the first place) to not buy a new phone every 2 years, just use it as long as possible
Just decide on what phone you think is best, don't fall from the mob mentality of fanboys
And, at the very least, don't fall for online hype. You will never know if the phone that gets hyped a lot may have too much bloatware and ads in it behind our backs (and cheaper phones are guilty of this btw), or if the software may be half baked, doesn't get enough updates or with poor quality control (as certain OnePlus phones are unfortunately guilty of that too)
Okay, rant over
I decided a while ago to stick with Pixels. Ain't many phones with that combo of custom rom work and a relockable bootloader.
Plus, Graphene runs nice AF.
I can relock my Poco X3 bootloader... But absolutely only on stock MIUI
Because signature signing is only handled by Xiaomi themselves and not us
Never had a chance to mess with MIUI.
Yeah, I already got tired of it, decided to just put a custom rom in it
I am gonna buy an iphone and use my OnePlus 7 Pro as secondary phone
rooted probably
everyone I know is running iphone for at least 4+ years
thats way better than any android phone ngl
Samsung is the only one currently getting 4 years of support on Android
Even Google's Pixel lineup only gets 3
3 for OS, 5 for security updates. At least for the Tensor models.
I'd agree that OS updates could be longer, since they're no longer beholden to Qualcomm.
the issue with android is fragmentation
everyone does what the hell they want without a set of standards
Google did have a set of standards and guidelines on how to sell an Android phone, but it's usually just expecting phonemakers outside China to bundle Google's software, not expecting longterm android updates
And because software development in general costs money, a lot of manufacturers just cheapen out on software development in order to sell a phone quickly
which is where you get phones that will never ever get a single software update ever
On a personal note, I can't wait to abandon this OnePlus that I'm using
Never fucking again with this brand, like.. ever
Man. Are OPs really that bad?
Maybe that explains why Carl Pei noped out.
The biggest issue that I have with my OP 8 Pro (have mentioned it iirc) is that the charging port has completely screwed itself.
It won't do fast charge at all (different cables tried), takes over 10 hours to get to 100% and also none of the PCs will detect it when plugged in

Kinda dumb question
It it possible to patch a physical umd disc for a psp
Id love to get a copy of steins gate running on it
as in change the language to english
because S:G on psp was never released in the west
Can't do that with UMDs iirc
Yeah, though it's probably against the rules to mention what you can do with a PSP though
you can't
the disk drive in the PSP is read only
the laser doesn't have enough power to actually burn the disk
and you'd need UMD blanks to write a patched ISO
and since they're obsolete you won't find any
That's absolutely not my point that I'm trying to make
you mean ripping UMDs? why would that be against the rules
I dumped all of my UMDs to the SD card before they became unreadable
Because I don't know if mods are against discussing that here
While makes perfect sense, I don't think right for archival is universally recognized
woooo
5.92 inch
jerry show this """""1 inch""""""""""" sensor in smartphones
\
Everyone knows that 1" format doesn't actually have 1" diagonal, duh
Good rule of thumb is that the actual diagonal is 2/3 of the stated format
i dont even know what im looking at without context
The ubiquitous 35mm film format for example only have 27.2mm diagonal
1" format usually have ~16mm diagonal, which is about the correct size for the images above
i must have something miscalculating then because according to this
a 36x24mm sensor has a diagonal of 43.27
35mm film is 35mm wide including its guide holes
either way 1 inch sensors historically have been 13.2x8.8mm (~16mm diagonal) as a weird holdover from one inch CRTs apparently
if the IMX989 is still 13.2x8.8 then this image is probably misleading
i don't think the 989 is listed in sony semicon's public catalogue so i wouldn't be able to get an official confirmation
that said a "1"" sensor isn't much smaller than a micro-four thirds
inside
I might buy it
I phone that has my sim (a random motorola phone) is so big I have to use both hands to hold it
not to mention it's so slim that it could fall out of my hands at any time
actually no
zenfone 9 is bigger than I expected
it's the same size as this phone
I'll stick with my sony xz2 compact ig
something like Xiaomi Qin2 looks like decent concept, too bad it isn't really catches
I just need a small phone that can make phone calls and play azur lane
it doesn't help that my service provider shut down all 3g networks
I just need a phone that I don't have to constantly worried breaking it in my pocket. I do mountaineering a lot, and "rugged" phones these days are absolutely huge

Ever heard of OS-tans? They're Anime-like characters that personify various computer operating systems. And today we're checking out how one of them was used to market Windows 7 in Japan.

offloading certain tasks and it has more vram
I mean if it's sensible for you what you're doing then sure
some programs like radeons more than geforces
but having both might just be a recipe for lots of wonderful driver conflicts
but nvidia hard blocked quadro geforce mixes
whereas amd + nvidia multi card still works most of the time apparently
i suppose though since ek does have a decent block for the A6000 i could just swap for one of those-

but i guess an entire second gpu could serve the side displays and vts and what not without needing resources from primary
I don't know many things that use a lot of vram
for one thing
i'm running 13.1mp of displays while streaming near-4K
and it turns out newer games and their texture packs are way more VRAM then i have

May sound stupid but don't have the issues like that on PS5 where I have to think about VRAM usage and all

I'm confused about these new asus gaming laptop.
they upgraded the cooling but still didn't give 100% srgb screen
and pls a usable hdd slot. the slot is there but unsable just because 0.2 mm interference
It still comes with HDD slot?
yes but unusable also doesn't come with the hdd dock screws and the connector
Sounds like typical asus chassis with proprietary ribbon SATA
He upgraded from his old FX505 series. so He tried the ribbon into the new one, the ribbon reached but the SATA HDD doesn't fit
how it doesn't fit? z-height?
even with slimmer ones? maybe it's designed for ssds
like maybe a 2.5 inch SSD fits inside
because battery were a bit bigger than last model. clamshell body still the same
they even doesn't give HDD screw + connector
its last year FX506 model
i5 11400H 3050ti
how it should be
Lol, all that freed space and they still use 48Wh battery
Can't MacGyver either since there's no SATA header in the first place
Unless you use one of those M.2 to SATA breakout
Also, man, Asus never thinking about improving their hinge attachment point are they...
nice
Oh hi fellow transcoder
I like this more than steam deck and Nintendo switch. Ayeneo Air is the smallest gaming pc handheld I've used.

but still it's super dope
Can someone help me find this case for sale
I only see one for sale and its local pickup
it's a very old case
wanting an old thermaltake case
is a bad idea
this is coming from someone with an old expensive thermaltake full tower
You could go more DIY
i think the phanteks enthoo pro 2 might suit your needs if you go by spec
we're not gonna be the ones complaining that the GPU doesn't fit or that there is no proper cable management loops or that you can't properly run water cooling pipes

Imagine blaming someone else lmao
Well if that was all then whats the big deal
creature comforts and part standards have came a long way since then
you can make it work sure
but we're just telling you unless you know what you are doing
you will regret building in it
Ive never built a pc in my life
just 3D print a case 4Head
I just think the case is really cool
function over form
Form over function
it's your first pc
you don't have the knowledge or the skills to pull off form over function
I could just get a corsair airflow and it would be very efficient
But whats the fun in that
I mean you can pay a boutique pc builder to build you a cool looking pc
Yeah, that can definitely work, buuuut you do you
Whats that
also that "fun" will only be relevant for like the first couple of days
after that you'll think "damn why didn't I get a high airflow case"
15 fans is not enough?
I know that prebuilts are not the way to go obviously, but for first PC, I'd suggest going with it, if it's not too expensive where you live
At least you'll save yourselves the headaches that way and then start learning from there
Well, depends on how much you pay for one again, as said
Don't expect miracles at like $300 USD or such
Right well.. you do you then
What
I was too stupid to realise how bad it was

Anyways is liquid cooling and cable managment the only issues?
new threadripper a lof cooler than new i9
💸
Intel bad
I dont like intel i prefer amd
I'd just pick whoever best fit my requirement, that's how capitalism supposed to work
Never believes in brand loyalty unless it involves something like designing hardware or developing code within a line of product
Oh that case supports liquid cooling btw
And it has space for cable management
All the liquid cooling stuff can fit in the ITX part of the case
man, when you're talking about old case I thought it was at most 5 years old case or something, not 20 years old
Though the case you've posted can fit two PCs
Yeah but why get a case like that if you're going for a single PC
Your idea isn't any better so..
My idea of using a actual case?

Yeah its just crazy
I think will all the extra room i could make a really clean looking water cooling setup
You can do that with a normal case and not the thing from like 20 years ago
But I see why you're clueless, ngl
Excuse me
You heard me, I won't repeat myself
Don't backpedal now, or try to be suddenly smart
You just got done telling me how stupid i am and yet
If you want something that can fit an ATX or ITX easily, you look at something like:
https://phanteks.com/Eclipse-P600s.html
And stop being delusional about the "coolness" factor for something like 20 years ago. Toodles.
"Delusional"?
Dude its an opinion
How dare someone have an opinion on the internet holy shit
The nerve
And speaking of opinions i never asked for yours i asked if someone could help me find that case for sale
I mean, people already told you their reason here. Yet you're insisting on doing your own shit. You're delusional, plain English.
So yes, since you know what you're doing, best of luck.
Thats not delusional
Clearly someone hasnt played chaos head
Joking aside half the issues they mentioned dont exist
It has support for water-cooling and it has cable management
Theres plenty of room for whatever gfx card i want
if it's a walmart prebuilt yes, but specialized store prebuilts are as good as custom builds
listen, if you came here to ask someone to confirm your objectively stupid purchase decision, it ain't that place, if you like it so much then buy it
I didnt
I cant find it to purchase it
I came here to ask for someone to help me find one to purchase
Typical EN
You consult Google for that then
Discord is not a website search engine
Typical Gen Z
How do you think i figured out i couldnt find one
Heh, no one wants to bother with a case like that so.. time to step back into 2022 and not 2000s
Theres one listing on ebay but its local pickup only in california
Once again i dont care what your opinion is
You'll still get one
Have you searched ebay or similar sites?
You won't find one on retail for sure

Thats the only listing unfortunately
Aaaanyways, the handheld PC gaming market is following Steam Deck rather quickly, latest case being the Aya Neo AIR
I like this more than steam deck and Nintendo switch. Ayeneo Air is the smallest gaming pc handheld I've used.

I actually like it, I may pick it up in the future when it drops a bit in price
they're built like rubbish despite their price and have lots of usability and quality of life failures
why do you need that big of a case though
the aya consoles existed on the market long before the deck
I'm aware, but with Steam Deck, it appears that manufacturers are going full speed with being a competition
Valve set the standard, though take it with a grain of salt
I dont i just think its cool
My planned build only uses standard atx
that's what i thought at the time
honestly
don't
Dont have much of a choice tbh
old thermaltake cases are exceptionally high
on my list of "computer components you'll regret"
and i had a $350 one
have, rather
Well then what case do i get i dont wanna do the boring RGB GAYMER TEMPEREDGLASS RAINBOW AND BLACK aestetic
see my prior suggestion
in the same class of chassis with similar capability and optional ODD support
the phanteks enthoo pro 2/719
if you absolutely insist on thermaltake
nothing but their newer Tt premium items
anything in the standard line will start to frustrate you eventually
alternatively if you really don't mind a big one and the cost
cosmos
cooler master's much cooler competitor
the deck is basically the iphone moment for the form factor
not the first
maybe not going to be the best
but certainly the first to bring the "hand held PC gaming" to the spotlight
switch is all proprietary games so i don't count it
in the same category per se
you may not count it
but matter of fact is that it brought this style of handheld to the world
the psp is a completely different thing
in a way yes
but it's definitely not revolutionary
because nintendo has always been their own category
the iphone didn't really strike me as completely revolutionary either but it kickstarted the trend
it might be
but going further back the ps vita is perhaps a better "start"
seeing as it had two sticks
and a touch screen
ps vita was a flop
even if it didn't have triggers
because it was essentially the same thing as the psp
a.k.a a smaller watered down version of the bigger console
it may have been a flop but it certainly predates the form factor of the switch
Whats that
that the handheld itself has enough processing power to run both in portable mode and docker mode where it goes full bore
sure the switch is the first to really make that a thing besides mobile phone gaming
mobile gaming is its own thing
the deck however starts a new trend by bringing x86 in the form factor into the spotlight
you can't hook up pubg mobile to a screen and plug in a kb&m to play

is that because of the app
or because you aren't using a usb dock
because i know genshin didn't support M&K on android
works fine with a xbox controller
or even a nprocon over bluetooth
because it's not meant to be a gaming device
it's a phone for fuck sake
then it's a gaming platform
it's just not every game i've seen actually registers input from them
not like you can do that with the switch

??????
physical keyboard sure but the thing doesn't exactly do mice
that's like saying you can't do that with the PS5
it's obv that you can't, you have the controllers for that
don't some ps5 games actually support mouse and keyboard input
no they don't
because xbox at this point is a glorified windows pc
well no shit
so does any playstation since the PS2
nice to see the universal part of usb actually sort of seem plausible sometimes
it wouldn't be a standard if it wasn't respected
if you just want something low key that isn't so "gamer" try the old fashioned masterbox NR600 or something
just buy yourself a open air test bench if you want something boring that works
just really
don't buy an old thermaltake case
because they're not as good as they sound
because whenever you like it or not, most cases nowadays have rgb and tempered glass sides
i'd honestly rather they were acrylic
I want brushed aluminum
right now that makes your options basically
lian li or silverstone
Yeah
and the ones from those two that still exist
I really like some of the silverstones but theyre so expensive
brushed surfaces are a pain in the ass to clean
because they're aluminum
aluminum cases have an enormous premium
the closest thing you might be able to get on the modern side
might be a fractal define
which are pretty boring not just because of how they look but because fractal went from being a "quirky choice" to mainstream favourite for "minimalist style"
meshify C and call it a day
Fractal cases look p nice
they're made of secc like every thing else
but that means you can afford one without needing to write off an extra 2TB SSD or whatever
I can say, for the 6 years I had this computer I never looked at the case, only inside it because it has a display inside
I remember fractal had a metalic red one i really liked but it wouldnt really match the look im going for
the only thing I cared for when I bought, have space for all the components and fans, have cable management anchors and routing points, have a glass side panel, have decent airflow
the rest was irrelevant
how do i have one of the largest cases
and still have clearance issues
i honestly still don't understand that part
got other more important parts to spend money on
I never had clearance issues
even with a 4 slot 3090
well you don't have ten fans and three radiators and two reservoirs do you
and four expansion cards

well it's not that there's no empty space
but apparently the clearances for the fan mounts turned out to be a lot smaller than one might've expected of a case that big
I don't run a fusion reactor in my case no
the lower rad blocked access to the lower drain plug
I have a single loop with one 360 rad like most sane people
though looking at it now i wonder if it could've been hardlined going -over- that radiator instead of of around
nah probably not
if it has to go upward gravity doesn't like that

it's some aio isn't it
those four slot cards these days are disgusting
if you count EKWB parts an AiO sure
the first slot GPU is also water cooled
so the unnecessarily brick sized one is a second
yes
love how they're unnecessary bricks
but isn't a single 360 on that rather
stretching it
no
that's like
what
450w+
loading both cpu and gpu

like 360 alone for either one sounds perfectly fine but loading both off a single 360 doesn't sound like it's going to take very long to soak
because if you're doing a long render or just playing for more than 30 minutes
I don't render on my desktop
then again doing liquid flow simulations isn't really rendering
it's computing
in a cold room this 360mm radiator ends up with 45c liquid and that's not with the gpu involved
the point is that this 360 with 4 exhaust fans is enough to keep the whole computer cool
wouldn't that all the more demand something with some capacity to run for an extended period

I have this novel thing called a server
yeah it's not a aliexpress 360 rad
still sounds real warm but
it can do 400W of cooling
if it's fine it's fine then
ironically i might have liquid that's too conductive because the liquid temp rises especially fast

do you change it often
once a year
takes like 10 min to drain and fill it up
ii have that weird graphene one
figured we'd give it a try while everything was new and clean
and see just how disastrous or not it would be
it does appear to work as advertised but the flipside is that it saturates much faster than we're used to
I still like mine, because yay homebrew. But yes, it is indeed a flop
Honestly if these get a bit cheaper id be happy with this
The case comes apart right?
if I'm paying more than a hundred for a case they better be
You could buy a fractal design
when the case is more expensive than the gpu
(Yes, that's literally its name)
anyway, I'm using the thermaltake versa h18
it does what a case does
holds computer stuff inside
If the GPU is a GT 710, yes
isn't torrent like $280
It's the price of a 1660 I guess
an rx 6600 is $260
In my market, it's still like "300 bucks" or more
(Based on exchange rate)
I think the "Torrent Compact" is cheaper... probably, it's pretty pricey still
Around the price of a Corsair 5000D airflow
when was the last time amd released a ryzen 3 chip
July 27, 2017
sheesh
... actually, the actual last time they released a ryzen 3 was April 4, 2022
july 27 2017 was when they released their first Ryzen 3s
Will this work good?
it's a case
I don't know what you're trying to do
you could probably fit everything you'd ever want in that case
Well the one i wanted to use earlier had a ton of issues apparently
Have this
pretty amazing case
now that I think I should clean it up
I do really like the aluminum with the grey

Is it possible to convert a non dual system case to a dual system
with a bit of craftsmenship you probably could
or just slap a raspberry pi to the side of the case and call it a day
you could also buy two sff cases and put them close by
if you only need one powerful pc, you can just make one normal pc and then get one of those mini apu pcs
I dont need two its just cool

guys
can wifi 6 router reduce connection interference caused by too many wireless device?
no
i mean
i got too many wireless device like keyboard mouse etc
my connection got slowed down when i use them all together
like
this is when every devices turned on
and this was not using any wireless device
Wait what do bluetooth devices have to do with anything
if you're using 2.4GHz wifi then yes it will slow down significantly with a lot of wireless devices that use the same frequency around
or if you're in a big city where there's already a lot of other wifi points nearby
that's why I'd recommend using a wired connection if possible, if not then at least 5GHz wifi
I turned my toilet into a gaming PC haha

In this video I turn my toilet into a 12700 & 3060 gaming PC by building out a custom toilet tank with a motherboard tray, airflow, and "water wall." I know more about plumbing than I ever ...
alrite thanks bro
Most peripherals are 2.4 GHz, and they use their own modulation so the signal should be orthogonal to each other anyway even to 2.4 GHz WiFi...
Idk what AP you're using, but most should be smart enough to pick the least congested Wifi channel if there's a lot of "competition". Use a Wifi scanner otherwise to pick least congested one.
It pains me that most AP default to wideband, or users deliberately pick the widest band. Probably thinking more is better 😑

This one don't even claim HDR2000
heck, not even HDR1000 which IMO it should be at minimum
HDR2000 is not a specification under DisplayHDR yet
dHDR costas $ to certify
This is certified for HDR10+
HDR10+ is an open standard and is royalty-free; it is supported by Colorfront's Transkoder and MulticoreWare's x265.[7][8][9] A certification and logo program for HDR10+ device manufacturers will be made available with an annual administration fee and no per unit royalty.[13] An authorized test center conducts a certification program for HDR10+ devices.[13]
The previous G9 Neo does advertise HDR2000, it would be weird for Ark not to advertise it if it meets the spec
Nah, g9 neo is Quantum HDR2000
aka samsung's own mumbo jumbo
not industry recognized
i guess they are not using HDR2000 due to this
At least it signify their 2000nits claim
hdr10 was designed for 1000nits
and 10+ is supposedly >1000 to 4000 nits
so eh
as long as the technical specs meets the claims
NG9 in practice can hit 2,000 nits
but it's in very limited situations
but yes/no the "Quantum HDR2000" is not a VESA certification
the ark has less dimming zones than the NG9
but anyway to be honest
i don't even use the maximum brightness
because even in a lit room the NG9 already has the potential to be rather blinding
the bigger problem with the NG9 is its quirky tone mapping and numerous QoL UX problems that make it hard to live with in a number of ways
which to me are more significant than it not constantly giving 2,000 nits
it's bright enough as it is and delivers great visuals regardless
and the local dimming does actually work
Most will calibrate to target 200nits anyway
Those who care enough to actually calibrate that is
Above a certain point, it's not really about nits anymore
But rather contrast
Which is why the od-oleds are amazing
Cuz above 1000nits and true blacks for each and every single pixel
i think my standard range setting is usually below 200nits
because i find even 250 nits brighter than i need at that distance
i haven't any way to reliably measure it
but on most monitors rated for like 400/600 HDR i usually have them at like
25
in terms of the brightness setting
different story with notebooks of course depending on the environment but most of the time indoors i rarely use like >40%
contrast ratio makes everything better
it's why i switched to preferring VAs
if only samsung would actually get their act together on the firmware/software side for their monitors
the NG9
it's truly capable of an enthralling experience
but you need to feed it what it wants/expects and nothing else unless you want to frustrate yourself
plus
its only viable arm
commands just as much a premium as the monitor itself does
what gets me about the QD-OLEDs on the other hand is
their pricing
has turned out to be much lower than i'd expected
the dramatic increase in max brightness ought to be a genuine boon for proper HDR content; i find that does actually prove to be an issue when watching it at daytime if you don't pull some curtains on older oled televisions (especially since they often have glossy panels)
if only netflix on mobile could stream 4k

Windows and websites/browsers need to get their hdr support up first
when is obs going to have a half decent HDR conversion/LUT

i don't like having to turn off HDR everytime i want to stream

you guys still watch TV?
only for watching netflix with family :kekw:
family shows is just 5 minutes of film and like 10 minute of ads
so I didn't buy tv anymore
my tv is just a 40 or 43 inch panasonic from 2009
nobody uses a TV as something to watch cable on nowadays
I just notice the Android Discord app gets a new refresh
Unfortunately that gets disorienting at first
Animations are sketchy, text gets larger, and in general feels like beta software
welcome to react native
To be fair, it's okay, and I'm pretty sure Discord could iron out the bugs and performance issues with this new framework
i just check all shops in my country how much cost gpu now the start price

When Azur Lane phone xD
Installed Lineage OS 19.1 on my OP7P (I think the build is broken as no wrap charge?) and god so smooth and everything works great
literally screw 1+ and their shitty OOS
Meanwhile my 30W 8 Pro charger decided it wants to have a mind of its own and not charge the phone properly, so I've resorted to using an old Galaxy S7 charger that I still have as that charges the phone now. Still a slow ass charge, 10 hours that is, but it's charging
OnePlus can literally close their doors tomorrow and I won't give a fuck really, I'm getting that Galaxy S21 FE next Saturday
I am just gonna wait for the new iPhone and switch
Gonna use it as my daily driver
I just want something that works, with regular updates and no hassle if I have an issue e.g. going to Apple and comeback and they fixed my phone
without sending it to another country for 3 weeks
they're still going to send it to netherlands to be repaired lmao
no apple store keeps parts on stock for repairs
this ain't unauthorized repair shops
Weirdly enough they do it here
maybe for cracked glass or basic crap like that
if ur battery is fucked it's getting shipped off
if u broke the charging port, it's getting shipped off
if u mangled the case, it's getting shipped off
no battery and screen is done in store
These are the options you have if you want to repair a phone in UK
so what is the turnaround time for a repair at a ASP or a store
yeah no shit
never had any other experience other than that
I asked the turnaround time
well yeah no shit that took no time
it's an ancient phone that they no longer service at their big facilities
I keep my phone pretty well anyway
if u get smth like a 13 or a 12 now and it has issues, off to the NL facility it goes
ramzh that's how it works everywhere
well not here I can assure you that
Definitely not here as well and I live in non-EU country so..
obv if I go in to a AASP or a apple store with a iphone 5 it'll get repaired on the spot with whatever spare parts they have on hand if they have them on hand that is
but if I got with one of the latest gen one it's getting shipped off bcz apple doesn't allow them to stock parts on site
We went the iPhone 8 just came out
not like yesterday

I would not call the Iphone 7 ancient at the time
ramzh you can't compare the experience you had years ago with the current situation
do it
sure
ask them how much is going to cost for a 13 pro battery replacement and what is the turnaround time
or a 12 pro for that matter
why does the cost matter?
if the phone is 1500$ and the battery replacement costs 600$
it's not economically viable to do it

I am not sure where you're pulling those number from
this is the battery replacement
okay what about turnaround time
I cannot get hold of them on the phone as today is Sunday
but I will let you know tomorrow
again Yama, this is not how it works in UK
from Apple forums
which is international
apple forums are moderated to not have any bad image of apple
yeah okay yama

11 votes and 21 comments so far on Reddit
let me guess
reddit is moderated by apple employees too
all of them took from 30m to few hours
okay that's if they have the parts in stock at the store
Well yeah, you literally said they do not stock stuff
which with latest gens they do
especially battery
screen in more limited quantity iirc
screens they'll replace the whole screen even if only the front glass is cracked
went with a friend of mine to replace his iphone 11 screen when it came out (broke at the ice skating) and took around 3-4 hours too
which OLED panels are eye watering expensive
I mean hey money is not an issue usually
I personally care about how long it takes (3 weeks for OP to send my back my phone for a battery replacement)
and regular support
it's the value of the device
Yama this was 2 months after the OP7P came out
if I spent 1k on it then why the fuck do I have to waste 300$ on the replacement screen when only the top most layer of glass is cracked
