If their vanguard is slow then they get rekt
Indep is heaps strong and has reduced first load time
Vanguard is very fast and just dodges all the enemy BB main gun and can't attack my main fleet cause hidden
Pretty much the only weakness is going up against CV cause of low AA and they will also detect my main fleet

I’d recommend a main fleet of,
Ranger, Casablanca, Chaser/Long Island,

The vanguard can be anything as long as it can survive until the first wave of air strikes
