Nothing is truly consistent in this meta due to eldy and soyuz rng. You could lose a 3v1 backline situation if your soyuz and musashi whiff on an invuln laffey II/Eldy.

Previously GoT suffered the same rng issues as Snowmen and Heisenberg but was usually down 1 team member (alsace) by end of 1st BB rotation, often in a 2v3 backline situation which essentially made alsace dead weight compared to seyd and NJ if she fired at an invuln vg and did nothing else before dying.

Now with pearl Alsace and prowler Eldy, GoT is a lot better than before due to vg synergies and Alsace no longer being literally 0 value if she did not nuke eldy early.

The end conclusion is that 3CV comps are like an inch away from becoming meta. The moment a consistent laffey II counter is released the meta will fully shift to 3CV

but to have that, it'd have to be something ridiculous like a full on silence effect, e.g. "Enemy ships cannot use skills for 30s"

it's due to the positioning of torps from defender side

the vg starts closer to your backline, and also it turns out TBs drop their torps behind the vg by default on defense, which allow them to ignore vg and hit backline directly

you can kind of offset the vg damage deficit by using rocket planes on some of your CVs but it's all rng since rockets tend to either nuke something or totally whiff

and with eldy proc rng it's even more random

when attacking with a proper fully built GoT setup vs a Foxwall, as long as your laff2 survives you will win the fight, but it will take upwards of 1:30 or more depending on when the enemy laff2 dies and allows your vg to slowly gun down the defenseless CVs

your backline will pretty much always be dead because nothing survives 5x +13 wyverns lol

meanwhile if we flip this matchup, if you are attacking a GoT fleet using Foxwall, the moment you lose vg fight, it's already over. There is nothing you can do about the fight. You just have to reset.

And if you try to remove one of your CVs for a BB or BBV instead, the enemy Soyuz will inevitably nuke her out of existence and the splash damage will significantly weaken your CVs.

I suspect it's more likely at some point we will evolve to a 2BB 1CV meta like MSN. Tbh, if Shinano didn't require 3x IJN to gain her buffs, she would still be strong right now.

A few things of notice

• CL gun range on Fritz Rumey is actually usable, 105 range for CL gun is really useful for PvP

• The clear detection gauge is nearly useless. In PVE it works wonderfully cus you can clear trash mob but here it is mbruh

• Z52’s torp clear slash requires 6 x 2 = 12 stacks. Z52 gains a stack every time she fires 1 time. She has 1 main gun mount. So for a torp clear she needs to fire 12 shots, even with a fastest gun, it is pitiful

Overall, I still think the ships are alright

But a few limitations on their proc requirement left me bamboozled
