Namely being a CV in an era with Laffey II and Soyuz present

The current jist is that CVs can't be good unless we get something that has backline invuln + dps on par with soyuz or musashi. That's the state of carriers in PvP. They are slower than BBs, have no means of self defense against vanguards, and generally have lower overall DPS. Stealth only works if you win the vanguard fight, but that's literally impossible when bringing CVs causes the enemy BBs to be more likely to target your vanguard since BBs do not aim at stealthed targets. So it's a self defeating principle.

Not to mention, the moment we get a CV that has decent stats, Kear will just come back into play and reveal then delete them lol

I reckon we need something ridiculous like "While this ship is afloat: allied main fleet ships cannot be sunk" levels of broken to actually make CVs meta viable again

yes, fan pattern is inherently bad, to land all torps your ships would basically have to facetank the enemy ships to deal max damage. this principle applies to magnetic and non-mag torps
whereas the teatorp's (and uss magtorps) torp pattern makes it so taht if one torp hits, the rest have a pretty high chance of hitting the same enemy as well

If you are suggesting the stall fleet, I had more wins on the usual with Shima, but worth the try considering I am using SMN now

incorrect. Shima has double preload but it's removed by enemy vgs most of the time. At best she can dodge the enemy vg and take out one backline member at the start of a fight before she gets deleted by the enemy fleet due to the fact black torp only makes her first preload launch homing, but not her second (which often whiffs).

On the other hand, JintM gets the first black torp homing preload and her crit damage + targeted torp aiming on death is so absurd it can kill a full health musashi consistently, something shima can't do. Naturally, as most fights involve lower health backliners by the time JintM dies, she can often 1v2 or 1v3 entire enemy backlines by herself. The only time she doesn't get net value is if she dies early and whiffs all aimed death torps on an invuln enemy vg. But usually that means your eldy died to preloads so it's time to retry regardless.

I think faster airstrike or just max damage depends on whether Admiral Nakhimov gets to launch her second airstrike, something like Bearcat-Spearfish-Wyvern with aviation fuel means your planes should be able to crash into backline for Nakhimov's second airstrike before Soyuz's 3rd proc, just using VF-17 alone isn't fast enough for that to be noticeable

But given this fleet was tested with JintM that probably shouldn't happen too much, might be more relevant for Anchorage comps. Pvp CV fleets are generally better with more stall I believe?

I have a feeling Alsace is going to burst her regardless of the smoke lol, especially with those equips, Fortune Meta and Eldridge (Fortune Meta especially) needs 2 HP auxs to survive anything in PvP. Your vanguard speed is too slow, put the badge on Kearsarge instead and boiler in Napoli

Also your planes are too slow, Musashi and Soyuz have gotten off 3 salvoes by the time your aircraft launch. Secondly, La-9 isn't that good in PvP given the rockets always attack the vanguard, consider using a fast fighter like Tigercat/Flapjack/Bearcat/F6F HVAR on Kearsarge or Bearcat/VF-17 on Nakhimov, same for Amagi as well.

I think Anchorage/Laffey II/Eldridge is fine for your vanguard if you want to test it out. Btw why Nakhimov? That doesn't activate Kearsarge's skill

I mean from what I can calc it's 22-23s for airstrikes to go off, in that time all I need is Amagi+Nak to live right? Amagi by her own already almost 1 shots the entire enemy backline, it's mainly stuff like LaffeyII thats the issue when it comes to these comps so I feel like the rocket fighters are better for taking her out and still getting that much needed crash damage in. Also idk if Fortune dies to 1 alasace preload I'd be surprised considering she has the smoke and probs an Eld effect too

And wdym it doesnt activate Kear skill? She probs has the highest damage potential and she resets her own detection and stops it from going up in the first place

Hmmmm, I mean with running the generic comp with Amagi+Akagi they already one shot the enemy backline, so it's never gonna get to the case of needing 2 airstrikes to take it out, and yeah the 24s is without 125, no oath etc
