But that’s due to very specific circumstances

When Azuma was released, PR2 was still relatively new, not may people only have 1 457, let alone 2. That time BBs still use HE guns like Hood gun or FDG gun for pvp, the medium and heavy armor type of Azuma wouldn’t be affected by it

Torp also wasn’t developed as much during that time since it was before Naganami. There’s only 1 or maybe 2 Quint rainbow at play and Black torp don’t exist yet. Maybe there’s Ibuki here or there but that’s about it

For other ships in conventional comps, Azuma would be fighting against either Saint Louis or Neptune, neither of which can out damage Azuma

Ofc Yukikaze and Juneau won’t do much damage to Azuma anyways

So it was during a very specific time period where damage against Medium Heavy wasn’t that major

(I say Heavy cus some did run VH Azuma)
