Typically I’ve only heard the term x th generation “fighter”
like dont get me wrong the thing is obviously gr8, just like the b-2 was
but man
slow the role down there
Not aircraft

Horse, you play wt air?
Realistic or arcade?
Anyways, I brought this up bc hornet 2’s mascot has planes with these
Cool
I should check which CVs in AL match
occasionally
You tank main or air main?
Which country do you main in
What’s the froggo haven’t heard that nickname
I see
Soviet main too
I have the Mig-17AS
And IS-6
I’m trying to grind the IS tanks and finish bringing the rest of my air tree up to 8.0
does this count as history?
How’s the Mig-9 late?
haven't played it yet tbh, im waaay higher in tonks - i just got the premium su-25 to burn through the air tree. fortunately i've actually gone positive instead of eating shit like most premium players
finished most of the tank tree though

The PE-8 is a bias machine bruh
I tried taking it down with a La-5 and mf took All 340 rounds
Well
Got myself a new myself new mission

Is it going to be the same as Visje from Netherlandsnavy
I'm afraid i can do nothing
She'll have the same fate of her Dreadnought predecessor
Although, in a forced manner
I even commented in there
I'm surprised how common two misconceptions happen

And 2)How often people use the picture of Lieutenant Fileto to portrait Lieutenant Possolo

ARLINGTON, Va. – The plan to upgrade the Navy’s fleet of Flight IIA Arleigh Burke guided-missile destroyers with new radars and electronic warfare suites is estimated to cost about $17 billion and take anywhere from a year and a half to two years to upgrade each warship, USNI News has learned. damn Hornet chan design in carrier con looks.... relatively good
gonna tell my buddy there to check that out
This is『Requiem』

The bolt heads originally came off due to over-tightening. But, rather than replacing the damaged shafts, staff at the defence contractor Babcock implemented a quick fix and glued them back on.
👀
guess he just got back from sniffing it
lol
they're not
the only thing has been done is removing the old Harpoon racks
the UK orders for NSM are so late compared to other customers they might not seem them until 2030
So they won't retire Harpoons this year?
they're removing the harpoon racks
Vietnam War traps
Hello
KGV or Nelson looks-wise
KGV of course

KGV from afar.
Nelson is dope when you're on the bridge or close to the guns though
He ended up using the pictures i sent him
Forecastle, you mean.
I think that's included in close to the guns
eh, fair enough
The unique appearance of Nelson and Rodney was never equalled in any other contemporary capital
ship – British or foreign. Many thought them extremely ugly, and they received derisory nicknames:
‘Rodol’ and ‘Nelsol’ (after oil tankers); ‘the pair of boots’ – the right and left boots of the Second
Battle Squadron – ‘the ugly sisters’ or ‘the Cherry Tree class’ (i.e., cut-down versions from
Washington Naval Treaty). Yet they were generally conceded to be the most impressive-looking
British battleships of their day, with a menacing appearance of fighting efficiency seldom, if ever,
equalled in any other battleship. One of her officers said of her, ‘I challenge anyone to stand on her
fo’c’s’le and not feel a definite tingle of pride and fear’ – certainly a general feeling that was
promulgated by the media.
Also in general a better design than KGV. Shame about the shells and never getting a super refit.
The Nelsons were true "battleships" that complemented Hood well.
KGV are just more all around.
It's just outside of say her gun battery, KGV was such a conservative design
It's very much "we haven't worked on a battleship design in a long time and we want no funnies"
It's very funny that the RN studies leading up to N3, G3, and ultimately Nelsol were extremely innovative and far thinking in design and concepts. But KGV nearly 20 years later is very conservative. (Admittedly, the 1920s and most of the 30s were very hard on the RN's design department. Huge staff losses to the point they couldn't even design more than one new big gun at a time.)
KGV all the way
And someone tell Nelson to not wear that short skirt, someone might slip a shell under there
Tromp came first and it got nerfed to sh**
Tromp calls air strikes
Hybrid DDs LAUNCH planes
Directly
Also tromp is fairly decent
Trust me as someone who's played it... it's not...
Maybe it’s not for you then
Airstrikes are kinda poo now, guns are okay but there's better gun botes
And anyways tromp is not the first hybrid dd
Okay sure, shouldn't need hybrid DDs though, guess there's too many people complaining about getting shot as a CV for bad positioning
Same with hybrid BBs
it's not about "needing" them, it's just variety
They're gonna put every gibbs and cox soviet napkinwaffe in the game at some point
as god intended
We already have one
It wasn't a question of if, but when
People been asking for catapult Fletcher for ages
Illinois has literally become an Annapolis at T9 for money
slight difference between a 9s reload and a 5.5s reload
Makes up for being practically not cit'able
Yeah.. wg making the game more potato proof by the day. The new pan america cruisers have a equipment reload booster which means you can cut your radar reload down by 80% for 30 seconds more or less meaning a 40 second-ish radar then possibly another one in 30 seconds because idk people complaining about not being able to kill a dd in 40 seconds with he
I've seen 4 team mates try to take one down they failed and got focused down by other ships
This ship is literally the American version of a Russian BB where you can only burn it down
... Russian BBs are easier to cit tho
iirc Illinois just has the usual Iowa hull with some hp lopped off in the latest update

Yeah.. harder to kill if you can't cit.. Russian BBs you mostly burn down seems it'll be the same for Illinois
Oi no more wows in here

Didn’t a British company just sell their jet technology to the ussr at some point?
Was it for the Hunter? Or am I misremembering
The Rolls-Royce RB.41 Nene is a 1940s British centrifugal compressor turbojet engine. The Nene was a complete redesign, rather than a scaled-up Rolls-Royce Derwent with a design target of 5,000 lbf (22 kN), making it the most powerful engine of its era. It was Rolls-Royce's third jet engine to enter production, and first ran less than 6 months f...
55 of this baby
Or was it 40
Anyway
It became this
Which China as it says also license build
Didn’t Russians take me262s as well?
“What fool will sell us his secrets”
Im pretty sure that the British jets were better than the Nazi ones
Everyone did on Allies
This engine is much better of course
Most powerful of its time
True lol
What was the service life like on the British jet engines? I know the Nazi ones were really short
Which is one of the reasons they weren’t that good
In fact, I believe the reason the 262 had the engines on the wings like that was so they could be easily replaced
Yeah that’s true
its just the british had actual money and more competence
instead of like
building jet engines out of wood and silly string
In the US it was built under licence as the Pratt & Whitney J42, and it powered the Grumman F9F Panther.
The Germans only had scrap metal and meth yeah lol
So you can learn from that I guess
other than the abhorrent engine life the ME262 had some exceptional flight characteristics that went on to influence other later jet developments
Well, they were able to produce them on a (somewhat) large scale, as opposed to the British
So there is that
aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines smh
problem with the 262 is twofold firstly it couldnt be produced in significant enough numbers in germanys wartime economy and secondly it was german and they lost
German Me-262 jet fighters aboard an aircraft carrier. They're on the deck of the HMS Reaper on their way to the US to be evaluated. An Arado Ar-234 was on it
Cool picture
surprise italian
italian jumpscare
When did the US develop the p80? During or after the war?
Flew in 1944
it saw combat in italy
p-80s are bizarre
I had no idea it saw combat during the war
they're the fune american jet but literally nobody talks about them
Well the Sabre came out pretty soon after, didn’t it?
I mean the P-80 did serve in WW2
On what scale, though? It was nowhere near as common as the mustang, for example
remember what they took from you
Think of iconic airplanes, the mustang is up there at the top
Before World War II ended, however, two American pre-production Lockheed YP-80A Shooting Star fighter jets saw limited service in Italy with the USAAF on reconnaissance, in February and March 1945.[16] Because of delays in delivery of production aircraft, the Shooting Star saw no actual combat during the conflict.[17]
The hell is this?
its based is what it is
was the RAAFs attempt to find a replacement for the Mustang that could be built by CAC
and while they were waiting on the CA-23 to come about
only for Korea to cause RAAF to shit themselves and realise they needed jets now not in a few years
which eventually led to the CA-27 or Avon Sabre

I’ve never heard of this thing, looks cool though
oh and the prototype crashed which didnt help the development process
Yeah that wouldn’t be helpful
Are those the air intakes where the wing meets the fuselage?
the proportions are gr8
yeah
She is a very pretty airplane
was developed by the Brits with CAC basically outlining the specifications and were planning to build it themselves
Reminds me a bit of the Hunter, probably for good reason
It does look like an intruder
is it just me
I see it
a lot of the experience gained from the program would go on to influence the Hunter program

you did not just say that
even ironically
A big enough engine means you don’t have to care about physics wdym
we also lost this
it's an enzo ferrari quote
in a certified australian industry moment
almost made one of the first operational supersonic fighters
would have been highly capable and advanced for the time
cancelled because idfk
pain
"we changed our policy on indigenous aircraft development"
why
"because we changed our policy on aircraft acquisition"
why
"because we changed our policy on indigenous aircraft development"
You can't mention hawker programs with out the P.1121
it truly is an australian industry moment
what plane is this
i love you knife planes
Oh sorry. Please andastand brain is dead now
P.1121 died because "lol who needs manned aircraft"
And the P.1154 primarily died due to RAF-FAA fighting
we're developing our own planes again
which is nice
maybe mq-28 will lead to us not making a shit decision and yet again losing all of our industry experienced personnel
and maybe we'll go on to develop something manned
or we'll just yet again repeat the cycle of developing something cool building it and then abandoning the industry to lose all of the experience and investment
Is there any underlying doctrine to it
such an amazing team of economic and industrial policymakers
Or is it just brain rot
the underlying doctrine is government making shitty decisions
Brain rot
for some reason we're still stuck in that mindset that we're too poor and small to effectively defend ourselves and develop the industry to give us the means to defend ourselves

even though we did it 80 years ago
Are you referring to Australia?
He’s Aussie
and the swedes 1/3rd our population and can have a proper industry
and we're fucking rich

What does Australia export? I have no idea
in terms of military equipment or in general?
Coal
minerals
wrong
Don’t you guys export a lot of coal
coal makes up a very small amount of our exports after the Chinese thing
Especially to China, which hurt them when they cut it off
Australia is the worlds largest exporter of iron ore
Oh yeah that’s what you meant
I meant Aussie exported a lot of coal to China, which China cut off and then promptly suffered a billion shutdowns
china is trying to buy back our coal but coal mines are shutting down
👀
because we're moving with the markets
please sell me iron so i can powerlevel blacksmithing
in any case
100 iron daggers time
Coal is on the way out and has been lol, yet people keep trying to “save” it or whatever
if theres something you own made out of steel, chances are it came out of the ground in WA
like your car
Preexisting interests
I mean, yeah
if your car was made in china, japan or korea, it's australian metals
we're basically the start of every supply chain
That’s cool, I had no idea
we also export a lot of wool to places with textile industries
So the supply chain issues are YOUR fault? Smh
and Asia gets a huge chunk of its meat and grain from us
thanks australia nsx's are cool
The top exports of Australia are Iron Ore ($79.6B), Coal Briquettes ($36.4B), Petroleum Gas ($26.8B), Gold ($17.7B), and Frozen Bovine Meat ($4B), exporting mostly to China ($102B), Japan ($31.8B), South Korea ($17.2B), United States ($11.6B), and India ($11.3B).
In 2020, Australia was the world's biggest exporter of Iron Ore ($79.6B), Coal Briquettes ($36.4B), Aluminium Oxide ($3.59B), Sheep and Goat Meat ($2.7B), and Wool ($1.58B)
blame god
or climate change
depends on who you blame for the bushfires and floods
Lol
global grain crisis due to reasons
Australia having an excellent grain season due to high rains
ports are at maximum capacity so exports cant be increased
extra grain gets washed away by the floods
Oh wait, was it Australia that was totally on fire at the start of 2020?
yeah
God
I hope you guys are holding up okay over there
I wanna visit someday, man, it seems like a cool country
some places are better off than others right now
we're in summer and la nina has finally fucked off so the floodings gone
in most of the country at least
far north WA is having a fun time right now
thanks to the high rainfall and the la nina that hung around too long a lot of the excess biomass naturally produced by the ecosystem was washed away so theres not been a huge risk of fires on the east coast
this summer has been pretty tame nation wide and it seems like 2023 shouldn't have too many crippling natural disasters
What’s La Niña?
basically an antarctic low pressure system that controls our rain cycle
recent one hung around for way too long and caused devastating flooding
Here’s hoping things don’t go poorly lol
whole thing was caused by the tongan volcano

The CAC CA-15, also known unofficially as the CAC Kangaroo, was an Australian propeller-driven fighter aircraft designed by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) during World War II. Due to protracted development, the project was not completed until after the war, and was cancelled after flight testing, when the advent of jet aircraft wa...

I don't know why the Aussies excel at making things look cool
its probably their camo
oh that second one looks fucking rad
Still hits decades later
I was always embarrassed by the words sacred, glorious, and sacrifice...The sacrifices were like the stockyards at Chicago if nothing was done with the meat except to bury it.
There were many words you could not stand to hear...Abstract words such as glory, honor, courage, or hallow were obscene...
it looks like it was stung by a bee
Honestly that seems like a good static fortification
funny you would mention that

On the 5 August 1914, Winston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty, sent a wireless message to all Royal Navy ships that read ‘War, Germany, Act’. Both the German and British fleets by this point in time had over a dozen dreadnought battleships each. The world was about to see the two largest navies in the world go head to head. But the dreadn...

that's about 46 ships getting the retrofit
Setting standards.
Interestingly the Flt. IIIs, due to SWaP-C considerations, will not feature the new SEWIP. Instead they will have AN/SPY-6 with 37 RMAs.
Which is a vast improvement compared to the 20something on the older Burkes.

You need to filter that particular source sometimes.
Tabloid?
Not quite; they were right about a lot of things nobody else anticipated. But they're straight up weird.
That thing has been running for ages and back then they ate a lot of flak for being overly optimistic.
Well, who's laughing now.
Who wants to know a fun fact about why blitzkrieg was so successful
"Blitzkrieg" is probably the most wrongly used word when it comes to Military History. It's buzzword effect is widely known. The question is what was "Blitzkrieg" actually and is it used "correctly" at all? Additionally, the question if "Blitzkrieg" was something unique to the Wehrmacht will be answered? What was Blitzkrieg?

When the Nazi war machines tears through Poland, France, and the Soviet Union, people will call it Blitzkrieg. But what is Blitzkrieg and is it anything that unique?

wow what a totally niche and original fact nobody has ever heard of before
can you chill a little
he's new here
you know, german tanks may have been among the worst in the war but they sure did look cool
it's unoriginal to you, sure
german tanks are certainly the worst relative to how they're jerked off
no i mean they die easily
i think people watch fury and think that tigers just cannot die
they're definitely not flimsy on introduction
tigers don't die easily either, they're quite well protected against 75s
the only problem is, fury is a 76
yeah but a sherman firefly could sneeze on them and they could just explode
you can argue the film 'corrects' for this by then pitting the sherman against 10 trillion germans with panzerfausts
and the sherman just doesn't die
goes both ways tbf
a firefly and a tiger will pretty much impale the other
just depends who shoots first
it's just usually
shermans are fairly well protected
m8 a sherman cannot tank an 88
wait wait wait
but the sherman isn't taking an 88
wasnt the whole 75 vs 76 thing like
because the tiger is broken down
not a thing
fury pretends the 76 cant pen a tiger at close ranges
what about angled?
"hm yes fury's an easy 8, let's still make them circle around and hit the tiger from behind"
the fury bounces a tiger's 88 at point blank range too from the side
37mm of pittsburgh steel
also the easy 8 must have been exponentially more accurate because Fury's the only tank to actually hit shit period
it was very much a thing irt armor pen
the entire film is just stupid
except for that one group of germans hiding in a basement
it usually doesn't matter because you usually use HE and 75s are great for that
what about sherman jumbo could it bounce an 88?
that scene is stupid too
armor pen wise the 75 is fuck awful
i remember them being well armored
"oh hans that tank commander is putting his head out of a turret"
"no, shoot the old guy"
"we need to look edgy"
oh it had more propellant
a jumbo can bounce ab 88 yes
alright
and now it has to fight somua SMs
wasn't it the germans who stuck their heads out while traveling?
everyone did
you can't see a fucking thing inside a ww2 tank
they decide to have the germans gun down a random guy giving directions rather than you konw
the tank commander
your internet knows you too well unde
chokolade must have been hitting extra hard that day
lmao
it's just a shitty film overall, saving private ryan was way better for the 'war sux' theme

where is that one meme about germany
this was 3 days ago
those were declassified iirc
i thought they weren't
it's only fun when they are classified
Somebody getting shot
undie speedrunning gaining political favor with the current italian political administration

Tbf, there was a German veteran who said he saw a guy jump up from the side of the road with a panzerfaust against a Sherman tank, and he said he didn't know how, but he missed.
thats what happens when you recruit old fucks
No I think he said it was someone his age at the time
yeah but spoon have you watched the scene
lets talk about how tf did a KV-1 bounce 5 Kv-2 shells

snail issue
even if those were AP, the spalling of the repeated impacts would've turned the crew inside into liquid
coward
Lmao in war thunder your crew can get pulverized by a 2000kg and still be knocked out
omw to convince the mod to build more destroyers and a CATOBAR carrier
"so I finally watched Black Hawk Down over break and the M14 kinda fucks ngl"
the movie added some elements
like the weird rivalry between the deltas and the normal rangers
good movie tho
proooobably?
well it was retired in 1996
I found a little something from 1979

Mhm. It's such a mystery why Poland hates Russia. It's not like Poland has been invaded and partitioned by Russia multiple times or anything like that. That would earn Russia the lasting enmity of Poland, so of course Russia would never do that. I guess the world will never know.

Yet they are kissing the germans asses who have also done the same thing

And they are kissing the asses of france and britian who betrayed them in the 30s and the 40s.

man knows nothing of recent German-Polish history
They went to war over that but ok
🤨
Sounds like a troll tbh

I dont know if thier lips on the ass of sweden but...why not. Finish the trifecta

Kaga my good friend have you heard like
Any form of political rhetoric from polish politicians
glory to the Korean-Polish hyper defense industry!
K2PL for all!
For the past 80 years
down with Rheinmetall!
You’re wasting your breath, the pumas already fucked their reputation

almost as if shit that happened in the 1940s isn't majorly relevant to modern geopolitical alliances
you gotta love it when Germany and Rheinmetall fuck over their main export customers
Poland doesn't hate Russia for what Russia did to it centuries ago Poland hates Russia for what Russia did to it 30 years ago
also expecting the US and Britain to fight a war against the Soviets after fighting the deadliest war europe has even seen
is rather dumb
unless your entire argument is they should of fought alongside the Nazis against the Soviets
which is just
a bad argument
I mean the germans were expecting it
The Germans expected a lot of things
Why george... uhmmm.....mysteriously died in the car accident
They expected to win the war for example
Yeah we're gonna hand the entirety of Eastern Europe to the worse thing that ever happened to Europe
over the Soviets
what a good argument
patton got got because he deserved it
Should have let the british bomb the soviets first then invade
actual scum
Yeah I don't see how that's going to do much
good luck convincing literally anyone to go along with that
Patton was litterly top three commanders in the allies
You're not even going to dent Soviet industry
we'll get those lancasters over the urals trust me
If Patton was Assassinated he deserved it
Patton wasn’t even top 3 commanders named George
If it was an accident then good riddance
my man thought he could 1v1 the soviet union but couldn't win a 1v1 with a windshield
Patton is like Macarthur in that the only reason he held any relevance was corruption and gaming the system
Twas a shame Eisenhower is associated with those two walking turds when they were gunning down the bonus army
even macarthur was just a negligent ass
In an ideal world he never would have gotten overly high in the chain of command
patton was an actual, genuine sociopath
Some here might believe this
So true!
Coming from the renowned expert on Pearl Harbor, I see

When I go to sleep with my nonexistent gf I demand 1.3 trillion dollars
Polands doing things I wish they did years ago but with the worse government possible
The usual
I've had a Polish friend call his government "the Piss dictatorship"
1.2 I understand but 1.3, damn
idk its good Polands inserting itself as a power in the EU, standing up against Germany and stepping up its arms industry game
tho at the same time its under PISS
Germany already paid reparations when their manpower rebuilt Poland
Wonder how much money the flood was worth
yeah the bad part is that

poland is also a draconian shithole
and the EU should dismantle them
not let them become a "power"
The Poles must learn from Germany if they want to give them the finger, not cry like a petulant child. You learn from them all you can and then cry like a petulant child so people have to take you seeiously, We would know, we did it with Japan.
considering no one in the EU is willing to actually represent Eastern Europe
Well it just their goverment agenda dont just generalize every Poles like that
Wish fox was here
no they should insert themselves as a power
especially considering how badly the main powers in the EU failed initially with the most recent current event
yeah but if your domestic situation is as terrible as polands
you should not be representing anything
I mean there the only ones really able to establish themselves in such a position
Poland needs to grow economy
their government is ass I agree
Not spend money on 1000 black panthers of duda
Take some of Hungary too just in case
Y’all gonna get the mods angry
Jaba
anyway lemme go find that F-111 crap I was reading earlier

Royal Australian Navy Clearance Divers successfully rendered safe and disposed of unexploded ordnance off the NSW South Coast near Jervis Bay on 24-25 January 2023.
Australian Clearance Diving Team 1 ensured public safety and returned a well-used marine park and recreation area to a safe state by the removal of the ordnance.

the usual
I admire the ideals of Joseon but there ain't shit in the five classics about how to manage economies, and virtue is no substitute for knowledge!
poland can do a little funny now and then, as a treat
The first part is of interest here.
In the mid-nineteenth century paddy land productivity in Korea was about half of that in Japan.
Japan is much warmer and wetter, so no suprise here.
Per capita output rose faster than one percent per year from 1911-38.
Even North Korea did better than that with the exception of the Ardous March.
What.
nothing
who are you?
Credit where credit is due though, Japan greatly increased output in Korea. However the main aim of this increase in output was not to the benefit of Koreans.
The Rice Production Enhancement Plan fixed Korea’s broken agricultural practices and greatly enhanced production. However per capita caloric input (which wasn’t good even before) stagnated and/or declined, while the practices of the Japanese and Collaborator Landlords became increasingly extractive, as well as landless serfs becoming a majority of the farming population.
Korea cannot into good neighbors
I must economy
anyway.
Japan invested in Korea heavily; railway were constructed and factories built. An example of one is the Heungnam Fertilizer Factory.
This factory was the largest explosives and fertilizer factory in Joseon at the time.
It was a marvel of city planning and rapid development with an annual capacity of more than 40,000 tons, producing not just fertilizer but all sorts of industrial goods.
Or rather, it still is.
Where did the factory’s output go? It did not go into Korean farms. Often it did not even go into Japanese farms. It went into the machine of war. The factory was used as a vital industrial lynchpin for the Japanese invasion of China. It is enblematic of all the investments made into Korea by Japan; to feed the machine of War.
poetic
A detour but a relevant one nonetheless; I would like to honor this man. A lone laborer who had the courage to stand fight against his masters who worked him and his fellows day and night in the Heungnam Fertilizer Factory.
He fought for the rights of the workers in the factory in opposition to the circling overlords within seeking profit. He fought for an independent Korea and for the rights of the people working within the industries of the occupation, headed a labor union and organized strikes.
His name was Isogaya Sueji, and he had the courage to do what was right when it would be going against his country. It is not so hard for a Korean to be a Korean independence activist, but it takes exceptional bravery and virtue for a Japanese to be one. This is why he is worth remembering; when Koreans would not fight for Korea, he, a Japanese, roused them to action.
some wild shit right here

Man where did Abrams went wrong
Why most of Europe usually buys Leo2s instead Abrams
I understand why not Chal 2 and Leclerc since Leclerc is...not being produced since 2008 or smh
Because Germany sold most of their Leo 2s in the 90s
And now it's just sunk cost
Despite Germany also not making new tanks
Not anymore
Oh
In the 90s and early 2000s, they were
Because Germany was dumping them
While the US actually, you know, still valued their stock
So you'd be ordering actual new builds/refits

This order alone would, afaik, increase the number of extant Leopard 2A7s by 25-50%
Correction
More than 50%
But Norway is also at the back of the line
For reference it took 5 years for Germany to deliver 62 tanks to Qatar
Hungary is still waiting for any of their 2A7s to show up after signing their contract in 2018
Because 2019 to 2022 was occupied upgrading a grand total of 44 Danish tank
there's something genuinely hilarious about waiting three years for one tank
Goddamn
Oh, don't forget - it wasn't just Germany. The Dutch had bought 445 of them, and dumped almost all of them after the Cold War
The German wiki page actually has some useful tables for the number of Leopard 2's actually new-built for orders;
that's the kind of wait I'd expect if I asked you to build me a stuart
as in you personally
Of the 445 Dutch Leo 2's;
- 114 sold to Austria in 1996
- 80 sold to Canada in 2007
- 20 sold to Germany in 2007
- 16 'gifted' to Germany in 2017
- 57 sold to Norward in 2000/01
- 38 sold to Portugal in 2007
Totalling 325 - which leaves 120 unaccounted for
horse 2 months in, delivering my stuart, it is well painted with racing stripes and the insignia 'horse racer' on the side

How’s the new IFV thing going?
its on hold due to the defence review
Oh boy.
Well, Redback was a fun science project and it was a good way to work out what we wanted. You should really just get bradleys.
Why Bradleys
bradley isnt an option
why tho
weight
K21 PIP will probably have a lot of Redback’s influences, so it was worth it.
its heavier than both the Korean and German offerings
It really needs it, thing is getting long in the tooth. No ATGM?!
and we're having enough trouble trying to figure out how we'll deploy the LAND400 IFVs as is
Redback is getting ATGMs
2 Spikes
Yes. I am well aware.
K21 pointedly does not.
Because it has gone without upgrades for over a decade and a half.
in any case Bradley isnt even an option for LAND400
This is deeply frustrating to me.
its either Hanwa or Rheinmetall
Australia wants domestic manufacturing and the US wasn't willing to offer that hence why it never proceeded to the final stages of the program
Hyungung and Shingung both need major upgrades anyways.
So might as well do that alongside K21 if at all possible.
in the year of our lord 2023 you really do not want to be buying bradleys when there are actual modern options available
It is not as if a K21 derivative is much more modern if not for the modernizations.
Which a Bradley can also be.
like the sdkfz 251 hanomag
that involves actually bothering to upgrade it
LAND400 has a lot of problems and the Defence Strategic Policy Review is designed to find inefficiencies in ADF procurement and strategic policy
Things are more modern if you modernize it. Who would have considered?
either LAND400 will be cancelled and it'll be M113s for another decade or it'll select a winner and ADF will be capable of peer combat again
M113 and it's consequences
2RAR is not in fact the be all end all of Australian Defence Force strategy
aerogavin aerogavin aerogavin
Shingung is more important than Hyungung in need of modernizatioj.
Samsung
china will fear the skies
if we do go forward with LAND400 there will be significant issues with overseas deployment of IFV assets with 2RAR however
With all love for my country Shingung unironically sucks and we should not even be trying to peddle this embarassment to anyone.
It is possible that ADF will requisition some Tasman Strait ferries in order to deploy IFVs overseas
because as it stands theres not many other viable options
we cant build/buy new ships, our shipyards are full and buying new ships is going to be very difficult to justify given the almost new Canberra class LHDs
we're going to have a very difficult time finding landing craft that can deploy the new IFVs while still maintaining our current deployment efficiency
ADF acquisition policy is fun

One of the main causes of gulf war syndrome is believed to be the release of nerve agents in the air after the bombing of Iraqi chemical weapon facilities
Iraqs WMD programs during 91 where very much active
The gulf war is what actually prompted the Iraqis to destroy their wmds

So not sure what kremlin is on about
Unless he thinks desert storm = Iraq war
we sold it to them
Israel was selling WMDs to Iraq?!
no but they secretly collaborated with Iran to destroy their nuclear weapons program
Yea ik, I was making a joke off your name

Are the vocals supposed to be from SEA culture?
Doesn’t sound like any SEA language to me, but the region is probably what the music is based on
In 1945, Sheriff Warren Hyde of Utah chased down a Japanese balloon bomb that then took him on a wild ride. He grabbed hold and rode the balloon for almost an hour as it dragged him through barbed wire and reached heights of 30 ft before he was able to tie it down. #FunFactFriday

Speaking of aviation
Found the symbol of the 2nd Scout and Bombing Division of the Brazilian Naval Aviation
Literary a pilot using a binoculars and holding a bomb
Kind of sums up the unit's name
A clear statement of purpose, indeed
lol
This one is mayyybe
The one of the 1st Division (same kind of unit)
I first thought it was an alligator with a pilot helmet
But its a black cat sitting on something...
I've been searching too much about the use of the Fairey Gordons (aircraft that the Scout & Bombing units used here)
And then mr Rudnei Dias da Cunha send me some scanned pages of the book Aeronaves Militares Brasileiras 1916-2015 (Brazilian Military Aircraft 1916-2015)
And from there i found those two symbols
Another
"Interesting" thing
Was the exercises with the fleet's ships with smokescreen
They (just like many others i think) used Titanium tetrachloride
Which is, well, toxic
Which required the crew of the aircraft to wear gas masks, rubber gloves and leather aprons
There are thousands of languages there, you can pick obscure one and practically none are the wiser
pretty much
the SEA isn't nearly as monogamous as the united states, you cross 200 km here and you find yourself with people speaking completely alien languages
sometime the same language even has regional differences radical enough that they can count as separate languages themselves like a mini version of Afrikaan
I saw that one
Yeah...
Well
That's a better fate than being scrapped anyways
Although i really wanted her as a museum
Eh, museum ships are stupidly expensive
Mr Emerson Miura was trying to work on that
Anyways...
I now hope i can preserve Parnaíba in the future
Fair enough
Diaalect continuum. A lack of political unity causes this.
I was just looking for some insights as to what the vocals are
Howard, does it at least sound similar to any sea-specific music you’ve heard?
It is bitterly amusing indeed many languages have been kept better than that of the three Kingdoms of Korea, when they were centralized bureaucracies who wrote things down. Then again, they were burned, raided, burned again, looted, and then exploded.
Also they all spoke basically the same language anyway from what histories say.
Enough ranting about my country, how did languages go in SEA?
Just put French, English, German, Latin into a blender and create a new language for the music
-Nier
it is time
New Mexico class my beloved
It ranges from minor spelling differences to outright “WTF did you just said?”.
Sorry for the late response but it's "Defend the Caucasus!" Poster from 1942. For the battle of Caucasus
they sank her
3000 miles ohgodohfuck they made it into the core
If you can't scrap her, melt her down
They're planning to send to idk Indonesia through digging a hole into the earth and send it there
Bro she is toxic to scrap
That's the reason Turkey denied it
What would it look like if we un-CLG'd Topeka but kept the fore superstructure
