the gear lab versions are there for players that started "late" ; but even those are time gated in some cases ; like you can't get the "top secret" mat more than once per month and some gear require 6.
take your time ; you don't neer the UR gear if you're not at end game yet ... plus they cost so much in gold plates you wouldn't be able to upgrade them for a while.
pro-tip ; if you're new-ish , join a guild , participate in the operations to get good amount of gold plates per month ; literally for spending a couple of minutes per week joining the missions
