But the first secretary slot increases affinity until 90
Only the ship who's basically your profile picture gets the extra affinity basically

here's what I do:
a) I check my port from time to time (like every 6-10 months) and see if there are any ships I dont like (in my example loli ships except a few cases).
b) then I scrap those, if I dont have a lot of those I check if I need someone for fleet tech or if those arent used for those + a mixture of a)
c) certain ships are used for fleet tech only -> they get mlb'd at 70 and scrapped right after
d) ships I dont use at all or will never use (like collab ships, dunno I cant get 100% collection anymore so it's w/e anyway)

Yeah. Same goes for practically any artistic skill. Do a little bit every day for a decade, and bam, you now have artistic talent (and you now also have people telling you how lucky you are to be born talented). I know there are the Beethovens of this world, child prodigies or whatever, but for 99.99% of "talented artists", they just knuckled down and put in the time. Applies to most skills, tbh.
