On manual you basically have to cheat using an emulator in order to stay on schedule with battleships by tapping an extra button for a half second of auto as they finish loading, full auto is strictly superior for multi-BB comps otherwise.

That actually is true. Full auto can fire off salvo right away without any input delay.

Half the reason I love the new yamato gun so much is because if you're only going to be able to fit 2, maybe three Yamato volleys within the fight's timer anyways there's no harm in using a few extra seconds to line up the shot, so even though it's horrible for Auto-synch comps it makes 1 BB 2 CV manual a lot more enjoyably flexible.
