you can of course clear maps without subs if your fleets are good enough, they're a bonus. I'd say build them yep

One thing you can do if you want to save yourself some trouble is put a sub you want to level on a secretary position so that it will accumulate affinity to 90; then you just put them into the map with auto call and get them to affection 100. As for the rest of the levels, you can do that with EXP books

How to farm the Venus Vacation Rerun with minimal effort.

You can farm **36,950 **event points on the rerun with minimal effort (one clear of each event map per day).

Breakdown:

20300 event points for one clear of each map every day of the rerun.
7000 from daily missions.
2000 from clearing each event map for the first time.
1000 from login rewards.
3500 from one-time missions (only the ones you'll get done in teh course of normal farming).
1050 from the mini game (you can get all the rewards from day 1).
2100 from the daily event commission.

This puts you at the traditional stopping point of 35k event points for reruns. This allows you to get the Selector Ticket, 1 copy of Misaki, the 3 augments in the shop, and the ship building tickets with more than 5k event points or so to spare to spend on other things.

Doing this will also get you 10 battles per day toward getting Honoka's Unique Augment (and you only need 60 total).

Gems in Azur Lane are fairly rare from an F2P perspective. However, the gacha in Azur lane does not require gems and their main usage is expansion of facilities like dorm, academy, docks and depot, as well as buying resources, resource packs, premium items (rings and name change), and skins.

As an F2P, you can get up to 4900 guaranteed gems (3750 for 3* clearing all 15 main campaign worlds, 900 for completing Bands collection and 150 for 8 days login campaign), not counting random gems from commissions or occasional bonuses from events or other sources.

Considering limited availability of gems for F2P players, even if spent exclusively on QoL upgrades, it is impossible to upgrade everything.

This is the recommended way to spend gems as an F2P:

• 3rd Dorm slot (300 gems)

The main purpose of the dorm is for faster morale regen while grinding. Using ships with 0 morale will receive a 50% exp penalty and lose affinity.

The 2nd floor of the dorm will have the same number of slots as the 1st floor. While it lacks passive exp gain, it has faster morale regen. 3 dorm slots with the 2nd floor gives you a total of 6 slots, which is enough for your whole mob fleet.

Dock space is the biggest constraint for players. While this can help casual players collect all their waifus, there is also practical use in collecting ships - for later levelling to get their fleet tech on reaching lvl 120. These are important for players as they provide crucial additional stats that help players to tackle the hardest content (W14/15, H.Arbiters, CM).

Alternatively, players may consider getting the 3rd Academy slot for faster skill training or more dorm slots instead of just dock space (not recommended).

While players may opt to buy skins/rings with the F2P gems, this will come at the cost of QoL. It is recommended to only buy those with real money 💳.

Why You Should Not Pull on the Heavy or Special Pools
This is a mistake I often see new players make, and it is objectively a bad play for multiple reasons.

1. Oppurtunity Cost, you are spending cubes on permanent ships over event-limited ships (bearing in mind events take on average 2 years to rerun and around 9 months more to be made permanent).

2. The ships in the permanent pool are at least 3 years old and are, on average, weaker than newer ships you’ll get from events.

3. The event pools are just either the Heavy or Special Pool (minus the URs) with the event ships added in.

4. You can build pity for the permanent URs by doing your daily build on the Light Pool (which is free) and pulling on non-UR events.

5. If you are chasing a specific ship in the permanent pool, it’s best to wait for a Wishing Well event, where you can select 2 ships from one of the permanent pools for a limited time rate up.

6. If you are a new player, there are very few ships you can pull from the permanent pools that can meaningfully boost progression.

Yes, even with max crossfleets, I sometimes still use more 0lb ships if the map is too hard. I have one ranger, one Cassin, one Downes, one z20, and one oite. It's usually just Cassin or Cassin and Downes though

60 battle victories, not 60 sortie victories. First 4 battles don't count, so each SP4 rush B||oss|| gives 2/60 progress. That also means new players stuck on SP1/2 will only get 1 out of 60 progress per run unless they turn off auto search and clear more mobs after boss spawns. The total for rush boss in the 5 maps is 1, 1, 2, 2, 4 or 10 per day.
