This is why "buy more dock space" is near the top of every list of what to spend gems on. If you like collecting ships and don't like retiring them, you're going to need to be spending gems on dock at some point. Possibly a lot of them if you want to collect and keep the whole set. Chinese new year is coming up, so you will get some free gems shortly, which will get you a tiny bit of extra dock.

That said: retire the gray ships, they are going to be easy to replace.
Use your bulins quickly. If you have purple bulins and nothing to use them on right now, retire them, you get a steady flow of them so you'll never have to wait too long to get another. Gold bulins you probably have plenty of uses for, but try not to let more than 2 pile up if you are short on dock space.
Then look at the blues. Almost none of them get use in good fleets, they're pretty easy to replace, and very few of them have good fleet tech.
Then non-event purples can mostly be retired; you want to keep unicorn and anyone else you are currently using, but if it's not event-limited, you can farm another copy if you ever want them, so out they go.

Ultimately though, there are several hundred gold ships, so even limiting yourself to rainbows and golds and the couple of good purples, you're going to run out of dock space and face some hard choices eventually.

Thanks! First, yep, Musashi was a problem. I'm used to using her to offset my damage, totally slipped me that she calls attention to herself. Swapped in Bismark 2 (Along with Lexington 2 and Rafaello) and it made it totally managable.

I ended up having to tweak my mob fleet a bit - I swapped Mogador and Eldridge since Eldridge was getting roasted on the mob fleet, and now smooth sailing.

I was wondering, why did that make such a difference though? Especially against the big grey icon mobs. Eldridge was basically dying in one against them, but Mog can deal with em handily. And Eldridge it handling the boss incredibly well.

I wonder why? I was never good at understanding the armour stuff (like when to use the white bomb, or the black bomb), but thats not relevant here, right?

i recommend using ships who can buff NJ more, like Vanguard, Lion, Alsace, Bisz, Soyuz all have better buffs than WV and CO. And Plymouth, Trafalgar/Aurora, WDP would all increase NJ's damage by a lot. Only use Guam and San Diego if you need AA in campaign, in which case idk how you're measuring NJ's effectiveness
