I've been neglecting war archives for uh. Ever. I kinda wanna get started on spending those keys, any suggestions where to go? I was considering just working my way down the list, but idk if there's something important in there. Like I'm missing zuikaku for instance so might as well do the first event.

I noticed one of the war archives had golden catapults and I'm thinking they may be decently accessible via farming that map? But I'm really unsure. It's a time-gated resource so use-it-or-lose-it and I might as well use it unoptimally instead of just losing it, but doesn't hurt to see if anyone has a better suggestion.

Also, is it worth 3 starring maps in war archives or just don't bother?

If you want to make a faction team because you think it's cool, you can still probably make it work with the right gear and combination of ships and so on, but you're adding an extra criteria instead of just "picking the best ship."

As a concrete example, if you needed a ship with strong A.A., I'm sure you could find a decent option within Ironblood, but they'd probably still be a worse choice than

There are genuine cases of synergy, for example Hakuryuu and Shinano work very well together as far as I know, but not all synergy is inherently good. There is no hidden buff for having 6 iron blood ships unless explicitly stated by a ship's skills. But most of the time even just a second ship gets you there, and sometimes the synergy is a trap - with for example Portland being a good ship, but Indie being pretty bad, making it better to ignore that skill.

Ultimately if there's a map you're struggling with, you need to identify why and build to that. Let's say you're taking a ton of damage from fire, you'd want FPE, etc. It depends.

And anything pre like W13 you can probably brute force by just putting 6 random high level ships with decent gear together frankly, especially if you add Unicorn for healing in your mobbing fleet.
