Of course you dont need to grab everything but you will need a good amount of oil to grab everything and 25k oil is a decent amount to use to farm. id still say this is a way way better use of that oil then campaign after the event is over.

first off, only leaderboard farmers will even attempt to try and buyout the entire shop

most people will stop at around 55k event points

and not that this is entirely applicable to them but during reruns esepcially you can get a large amount of event points by doing fairly minimal amounts of grinding

Just hitting that 55k mark for the gold plates is usally what's reccomened. As for the actual point shop usually just the gear, cog chips, blueprints and the ship if its decent are the main grabs. Rest of stuff is if you need it

Was looking at CV buffers to run with Essex/Enty/BB and noticed Baltimore has the larger buff plus the chance to proc armor break compared to sirius just having the self buff/avi buff. Those are main 2 CV buffers i have currently and debating on which to invest in next

There are different considerations for each gear type. For example for fighters that can intercept you want ones that move slower across the screen so they get to shoot more. With bombers its about how many times they get to fire based on their reload and duration of the combat rather than pure dps. Torp bombs you want parallel ones for fights with multiple enemies or ones that move around a lot. Converging ones are only good against single enemy and you need a ship that slows or immobilizes to make them hit.

Basically you would check guides for the strongest weapon with the specific ammo type and charactersitics you are interested in and compare other gear against that I guess.

If you are new it's fairly complicated and better to just trust the guides or ask here

I wouldn't say you're doing something wrong, although for combat data collection, you need to use specific ships, that match the ship's faction as well as whether they're in the vanguard or main fleet. for Saint louis in particular, you need to use eagle union vanguard ships
