Personal experience and an alternative PoV, it's really a QoL thing. For more context, I'm a lazy bugger who have been farming OpSi consistently for more than two years now.

Being able to simply Strategic Search mean less interaction between me and the game, ie more automation. Saving two taps per map might sound silly, but it compounds with 72 Explored Zones. I tried not buying it a couple months ago, and I got really fed up with OpSi after a week or so. It's just less brain power and less time spent interacting with the grind on a very grind-heavy game.

Personally, I hate micro-managing every single thing and saving my sanity for long-terms longetivity is a higher priority. I usually recommend newish players to try doing OpSi manually for 2-3 months first, before purchasing the 5k loggers once to decide whether it's worth the oil.

Under each gun or plane or torp you can see what ammo type or modifiers it has typically represented as #-#-# for Light-Medium-Heavy

Basically take the dmg number and multiply it by the modifier as a percentage

so 100 damage on a 140 modifier is 140 damage

When opsi came out I didn't buy the map reveals for like 12 months. I was trying to min-max my resources. It is not worth it. 5k oil isn't that much in a month, and you get 10+k vouchers per month and only need to spend like 8k to buy everything useful.

they are not tied up but they record the ships you had at the time

so if you level up/oath/re equip said ship you will have to update both

Basically fights that has too much torps and planes used by the enemy is good for Agir with Torp Bulge, but then again Toolbox is general use anywhere else

Normal arb was just a 2 fleet clear. and primarly a 1bb 2cv fleet ill swap gear to light/heavy as needed and a general mob fleet with uni for everything else

I think it was even slightly easier than NArbiter. Cleared C6 comfortably with my (slightly) overpowered mob fleet. But if you can 2-team NArbiter, C6 Abyssals should be easy for you.
