Nelson, Saratoga & Ark Royal are the main worthwhile pickups from early campaign stages; Ark Royal & Saratoga are very solid long-term investments as their replacements are expensive / event locked. Nelson is just 2nd BB

London / Shropshire you can pickup but they arent as useful as the above ships

the flying pancake will go a long way for the resource cost in terms of improving your CV/CVL ability to deal with enemy planes

get a fleet with Meowfficers onto that node and move around, you get rewards

yeah, currently a template limitation because there's only good aa ships and everyone else. so unfortunately gives the recommendation of sandy, isuzu, etc. with accelerators but hypothetically if the third ship was sumner (who is using the same template) then it's not quite as unrealistic for her to get a gerat for example. would you say it's a huge issue considering theyre basically transitional guns?

Gem Spending 101

Gems in Azur Lane are fairly rare from an F2P perspective. However, the gacha in Azur lane does not require gems and their main usage is expansion of facilities like dorm, academy, docks and depot, as well as buying resources, resource packs, premium items (rings and name change), and skins.

As an F2P, you can get up to 4700 guaranteed gems (3750 for 3* clearing all 15 main campaign worlds, 800 for completing Bands collection and 150 for 8 days login campaign), not counting random gems from commissions or occasional bonuses from events or other sources.

Considering limited availability of gems for F2P players, even if spent exclusively on QoL upgrades, it is impossible to upgrade everything.

This is the recommended way to spend gems as an F2P:

• 3rd Dorm slot (300 gems)
• Dorm 2nd floor (500 gems)
• Dock space (remaining gems)

The main purpose of the dorm is for faster morale regen while grinding. Using ships with 0 morale will receive a 50% exp penalty and lose affinity.

The 2nd floor of the dorm will have the same number of slots as the 1st floor. While it lacks passive exp gain, it has faster morale regen. 3 dorm slots with the 2nd floor gives you a total of 6 slots, which is enough for your whole mob fleet.

Dock space is the biggest constraint for players. While this can help casual players collect all their waifus, there is also practical use in collecting ships - for later levelling to get their fleet tech on reaching lvl 120. These are important for players as they provide crucial additional stats that help players to tackle the hardest content (W14/15, H.Arbiters, CM).

Alternatively, players may consider getting the 3rd Academy slot for faster skill training or more dorm slots instead of just dock space (not recommended).

While players may opt to buy skins/rings with the F2P gems, this will come at the cost of QoL. It is recommended to only buy those with real money 💳.

MEOWFFICER QUICK GUIDE

What are Meowfficers?
They are companions that you can add up to 2 per fleet (including sub fleets). They buff your fleets with their "skills" and "talents". There are 27 different types of them.

How do I get them?
You get them by opening Cat Boxes in the Cattery. The Cattery can be found under HQ > Cat Lodge. The first Cat Box you buy everyday is free. You can buy up to 14 more per day, with each costing 1500 Gold. It is strongly recommended you do NOT binge on them!

How do I level them?
Just like ships, they gain experience when sortied. They do not cost oil, however their exp gain is dependent on the oil spent by the fleet. They max out at level 30. You can also level them by feeding other meowfficers to them, at about 30% exp loss (20% bonus if identical). Additionally they can gain levels passively through Comf-Forts.

What are talents?
Talents buff a specific ship type or faction. They get 1-3 permanent talents, depending on rarity.. Every 5 levels they gain, they get a Cat Paw which can be used to roll new talents or raise the level of some talents. You can reroll any new talents once every 24h with gold (increases with number of talents).

What are skills?
Skills are unique to each type of Meowfficer. They usually give some stat buff or some perk to the fleet. They get 1 skill initially, and they can get up to 3 skills, each obtained by feeding duplicates (1 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd). The potency of the skills is dependent on their stats which increase through levels.
Do note that the skill stat buffs are mostly inferior to talent stat buffs.

I did notice that it does take in to account which fleet I have engaging, I have it setup for a fleet to match hard mode reqs for 1st fleet and then a 1-1 BB/Cruiser actually running the repeat, and it accounts for oil based on which fleet I have tagged for all enemies

the oil usage saved adds up quick, it's only about a 400 oil difference to run a full fleet, but if you consider that's 400 oil per 4 runs, so you have to do that 15 times for the 60 clears, and suddenly you're saving 6000 total oil
