limit breaks while comparable to eidolons arent exactly the same, unlike with eidolons you dont have to have a true duplicate (since bulins exist) and they also matter much more so much so that usually its worthless to use ships not fully limit broken (the only time this doesnt fully apply is early on)

Q: How do I get more fleet technology points?
You get fleet tech points by:
Collecting the ship (~20%)
Max Limit Breaking it (~45%)
Achieving level 120 (~35%)

-Higher rarity ships gives more fleet tech pts .
-Heavier ship hulls also gives more fleet tech pts: CV=BB>CA>CL>DD

Side notes:
-PR ships give more fleet tech pts than normal but follow the above formula with development 30 replacing MLB.
-META ships are considered a separate META faction. They give same bonuses as their non-META versions.
-Collab ships, Muse and little versions of ships e.g. Li'l Sandy, Clevelad and Lena etc do not give any fleet tech pts.
-Iron Blood faction ships receive double the normal tech points compared to other nations.

Your AA sucks. That's the main problem you're having is my guess. Your vanguard is almost entirely heavy cruisers/large cruisers with middling to bad AA. Shinano is underleveled and in the wrong fleet (should be boss not mob) and your Implacable is also underleveled.

Adding a bit more context, back before the New Player Mission was reworked, you are *required * to retro Portland hence why she mentioned a lot. She's cheap and quite tanky for her rarity.

These days, the New Player Mission ask us to retrofit any ships, so, there are (slightly) more expensive replacement. But at least for new players, you can't go wrong with Port retro.

in terms of world progression, the standard farm spot is 12-4, so youre just trying to get there as fast as possible

Do daily missions, use oil on events (HT6 of the current event), when there's no event then farm chapter 12 for coins and ship exp. Retrofit Unicorn for the best healer now, play the mini game so you get Essex retrofit item, play next next week so you get Eldridge retrofit item
