When a BB opens fire with their main guns, you see two things

• The actual salvos from the guns
• A bunch of other projectiles (if they have a barrage )
  the latter is the barrage, and the way they're fired is the barrage pattern

Sometimes the way that pattern is designed (and how much damage it does) can determine more specifically what a ship is good for (for example: Hood's wide barrage pattern makes her more suitable for mobbing than bossing)

it's a solid time to start, it's the EN anni and there isn't a problem with newer players getting the anni rewards i'd think (most importantly 800 gems, and also an oath ring). the event has an item that makes a certain ship very strong which will most likely rerun the next year.

a month from now it's the JP anni which will have its own UR ship that's quite likely to be very strong also but no one can tell for certain. you're not going to have as much rolling materials as old players so there may be a chance you might not get it, but the handbook should help with the cubes a good bit i think. that event will only rerun 2 years from now.

overall i think it's fine to start now probably. handbook should have you decently set for JP anni on cubes, coins more likely to be issue

Typically there is a rerun between new ur banner iirc, every banner reruns once about 2 years after the initial run before going into perma pool some time after

If your issue is the torp requirement not being met, put some dds in fleet 2 with random main ships (you don’t need to use or have a built fleet 2, just some ships to pad the stats)
