Gem Spending 101

Gems in Azur Lane are fairly rare from an F2P perspective. However, the gacha in Azur lane does not require gems and their main usage is expansion of facilities like dorm, academy, docks and depot, as well as buying resources, resource packs, premium items (rings and name change), and skins.

As an F2P, you can get up to 4700 guaranteed gems (3750 for 3* clearing all 15 main campaign worlds, 800 for completing Bands collection and 150 for 8 days login campaign), not counting random gems from commissions or occasional bonuses from events or other sources.

Considering limited availability of gems for F2P players, even if spent exclusively on QoL upgrades, it is impossible to upgrade everything.

This is the recommended way to spend gems as an F2P:

• 3rd Dorm slot (300 gems)
• Dorm 2nd floor (500 gems)
• Dock space (remaining gems)

The main purpose of the dorm is for faster morale regen while grinding. Using ships with 0 morale will receive a 50% exp penalty and lose affinity.

The 2nd floor of the dorm will have the same number of slots as the 1st floor. While it lacks passive exp gain, it has faster morale regen. 3 dorm slots with the 2nd floor gives you a total of 6 slots, which is enough for your whole mob fleet.

Dock space is the biggest constraint for players. While this can help casual players collect all their waifus, there is also practical use in collecting ships - for later levelling to get their fleet tech on reaching lvl 120. These are important for players as they provide crucial additional stats that help players to tackle the hardest content (W14/15, H.Arbiters, CM).

Alternatively, players may consider getting the 3rd Academy slot for faster skill training or more dorm slots instead of just dock space (not recommended).

While players may opt to buy skins/rings with the F2P gems, this will come at the cost of QoL. It is recommended to only buy those with real money 💳.

Hello friends, I've been playing since February but haven't fully understood how to farm gear lab mats faster through OPSI. Could anyone point me to a guide I can follow on what would be the most efficient way to farm these mats? Thank you in advance

The short opsi farming guide:

1. Log in daily and do the daily missions
2. If there are symbols on the map, do those regions. By the end of the month, you should have cleared out all abyssals, strongholds, hidden zones, and explorable zones.
3. If there are no symbols on your map, farm corrosion 5 zones until you run through your AP boxes.
4. Buy out all useful stuff from the shops (AP boxes, gold gear lab mats, anything rainbow, loggers)
   Make sure you have a couple of maxed out cats; a lot of your rewards come from cat paw nodes, and the rewards are better if it's a gold lvl 30 cat doing the fishing.

Some people will say to do C3 instead of C5. If you have a lot of time to burn, you can do C1 and hope to find akashi and get lucky on AP boxes.

Level them up by using them, or by having them eat other cats.
If you have a stack of blue cat boxes around, open them and have your good cats nom on them. If you have slots in the comfi-fort thing that you aren't using to level your good cats, use them to level a junk cat to then feed to your good cat.

Which skills they've got matters a lot.
Purple cat with flame? Very usable. Gold cat with the ASW skill is garbage.

Also on where you are putting them. The only sub-focued cat is steel, so your sub fleet should get Steel plus Gral or Edelweiss. (note: sub cats should be way lower priority than main-fleet focused cats)

There is a more extensive cat guide that you can read over in bot-spam that tells you which skills to prioritze. Don't stress about getting a perfect skill set on cats, just get something decent.

A good rule of thumb is to only clear each hard mode stage once, then kill the mobs until the boss spawns

When you cant kill the escorts anymore, just retreat. You only get 3 "boss" clears of hard mode per day, and you can retrofit uni in just a couple days

To be clear. Only do this until you complete the mission

Otherwise its just a waste of oil lol
