yea so in your image you have series 7 prints, which means you should only use them on series 7 ships

then if you get series 6 prints use them on series 6, etc. etc.
once you go low enough you can spend coins to upgrade instead of using prints, which means you can convert the prints to prototype core currency instead

the in game tutorials are getting a revamp very soon so hopefully the new ones will explain mechanics better 🙏🏽

AA works on a kind of strange system. Basically your whole fleet's AA gets "averaged" and fires as one.
So the optimal way to do AA guns is that you have a ship with high AA slot efficiency and high AA stat equip something that does a lot of damage, then the rest of your shps equip something that fires really fast. With three really fast guns and the one slow one, speed averages out to be pretty fast; with the one ship with high multipliers having good damage, the fact that the other ships with low multipliers have low damage doesn't really hurt your AA damage, so you end up getting high damage overall and at the same time getting fast firing.

Though for most maps, what you actually want is "vanguards equip the AA gun that gives +fp, backliners equip the AA gun that gives +hit" because the stat bonuses matter more than the acutal AA; you get rid of enemy planes by demolishing their carriers. Actual AA is only really relevant in W13/14/15 where there are swarms of enemy planes.

Not really worth spending oil on food unless you aren't playing the game much so you have a lot of oil going to waste because you're always high enough that you can't collect it. It's more efficient to spend the oil on running some map (highest event map you can do in events, or highest campaign one outside of events is a good default)

The calculator would have to take into account range, and make some assumptions about how many planes are in your target circle etc. So don't worry about it and put in some good AA ships with good guns and slap +hit/fp or accelerators on the not-as-good ones and don't worry about squeezing out the last theoretical 1% of damage.

If we ever get a challenge mode that is just a horde of planes, maybe someone will make an ideal calculator because people will care about getting every possible bit of AA, but for now you basically get good enough AA and then focus on killing the ships which are the actual point of the map.
