you would usually gear according to content
so mk7/6 for light and champy/soyuz for med/heavy
If you want a "general" loadout then just put mk6/7 on every1 unless ure general is in w14 or above then put champy gun on every1

in hard mode you'll have hull type restrictions as well as total stat requirements to meet but for the former you only need to fullfill one main fleet and one vanguard hull type requirement for a fleet to qualify
