And to be clear I'm not saying saying gear ships with random trash gears. I'd still make good gears that will work for grinding in anything up to w13 no questions asked on whatever ship.

among other things, you first need to identify the content you're tackling because comps can and will change based on that

Typical front line composition is tank/support/offtank. Don't look at the stat diamond on ships, that's misinformation, their skills/mounts drastically change how effective they are. You don't always need a lot of AA, and many modes/worlds require more specific compositions.

for one example, some content doesn't have enough vanguard pressure to warrant running a full tank you can afford to run some more fragile ships for more damage
