not particularly. there's like two things. one ancient, one modern. you can spend tech boxes to research specific useless gear. The gear is useless, you guarantee yourself to receive nothing. It's actually the worst research possible. The other is Akashi's acquisition quest requires some Sakura boxes. So if for whatever reason you want Akashi immediately then you should manage your Sakura boxes. None of these things are relevant so just combine boxes to purple and open all purple, gold, and red boxes you get.

While Helena has no direct replacement, I find Sirius or Scylla to be good CV supports (Sirius gives AVI and Scylla has a barrage that increases enemies damage taken by CV's). If you are talking about BB support... All i can think is Plymouth. Or, at least, these are the ones I use. CL wise, that is.
