You can just do PR5 research and eventually gain enough prints for the Brest gun but it would be preferable to buy prints for an Ägir gun because it’s a better option. You should not use Brest in high difficulty content before she is properly leveled so it’s fine to take your time getting a good gun for her.

I was hesitant to farm it but once you get used to it, it’s very easy and quick to farm. If you have good fleets, unlocking the shop after clearing 50 areas takes 4 hours, maybe less, the rest is doing strongholds and so on and clearing the other areas. And I consider it as a must since it will provide you of very important gear and plates.
