AA is basically collective effort of the entire fleet, any ship that has AA guns equipped (in slot or ghost AA gun) will contribute to the AA circle
TLDR of how AA circle works is average of damage and reload is taken of all ships in the fleet
since different ships have different AA stats and efficiencies, its better to put AA guns with faster reloads on ships with bad AA and give ships with high AA, ideally one in the fleet, the sextuple, others would ideally get the twin57mm

but like mentioned above, game is easy and doesn't require this, until it does(w15 lel)
most just slap twin134/STAAG on their ships and forget about it

It's just not really ideal to jump from pr1 ship to another because if you are in that part of the game where you are able to start heading in that direction, you ideally have enough tech to advance to other seasons and get the a lot more useful ships within those seasons

PR1 - 3 Aren't in the research pool anymore so you can put them off for as long as you can finishing and coining the more useful ships

I mostly hoard them; the only thing they do is make farming take less real-world time (you could just hit the button twice and actually run the map twice for the same result as using a high efficiency logistics plan...); so the time to use them is when an event will end tomorrow and you need to do a lot of farming before it ends.
