Secondly, we'll hunt for:

sf_portal : Sanguine Surge - When you obtain this card, you can remove a Surge of Strength from your deck. Provides e_str e_str and turns on Frenzy.

sf_portal : Rallying Shout - When you obtain this card, you can remove a Surge of Strength from your deck. Provides e_str, minor healing, and a draw.

sf_portal : Battle Mending - This will restore x2 the health we spend during our turn. We mostly only play this when our health gets low.

e_blood e_blood : Sanguine Scrying - Your other draw card. Also turns on Frenzy. You likely won't get to see the repurcussions of the 2 bleed it afflicts.

Thirdly, we'll imbue:

icn_upgrades : Savagery - This will give us e_str whenever we deal more than 10 damage at a time. Maul will always proc this after 5 upgrades allowing your combo to continue.

icn_upgrades : Brawlers Mark - This will give armor equal to the damage you deal when you Critical Hit. This will turn you into a nearly invincible killing machine.

Fourth, we'll hunt for these talents:

impervious : Craftsman - +1 to each upgrade.

impervious : Hellforge Weapon - +1 to each upgrade on basic attacks.

impervious : Weapon Master - +1 to your basic attacks when you activate your Weapon Power.

impervious : Boomerang - Returns Maul to hand the first time you play it every turn.

Finally, it all comes together like so:

This deck is very formulaic. Having 5 cards means you'll draw your whole deck each turn. This allows for this combo: Sanguine Surge>Maul x2>Sanguine Scrying>Maul>Rallying Shout and so on every turn. At this rate, with your upgrades, you'll easily clear 100 damage per turn at minimum.

Below I'll discuss options for other cards, talents, and imbues.

Throughout your run you'll find you can't have the most ideal deck possible so I'll list some alternative options to keep you going when RNGesus is giving other players attention.

e_blood : Enrage - An acceptable card to activate your Frenzy for two turns but it is very outshined by Sanguine Surge.

sf_portal : Blood for Blood - Another free Frenzy activator that works in a pinch that is also outshined by Sanguine Surge.

e_str : Muscle Memory - An acceptable alternative to Sanguine Surge/Sanguine Scrying if RNGesus is being really mean to you and you're using multiple alternative cards on your way to hopefully finding the right cards.

Otherwise you'll search for talents that add more damage to Maul to capitalize on Brawlers Mark and the inherent Critical Hit capability. With Craftsman, Weapon Master, and Hellfire Weapon, using your weapon power adds +6(12 when Frenzied) to Maul and the Blacksmith upgrade essentially becomes free.

Finally, I hypothesize that as this deck increases in difficulty you could add Duel Mastery to the list of Imbues. I had this Imbue by accident in one run and I was able to take down Balors with pretty consistent ease. Thanks for reading. โค๏ธ

This build is no longer viable after the last patch with the redesign of Maul. But don't fret... ๐Ÿ‘€ I've been cooking up another low card count crit build.
