So I started reading season 1, but I dropped it at the start of chapter 2.

The fight scene at the beginning is messy, but beyond that it didn't feel like any of it was earned. It's like you're starting at intensity 100%, but I have no idea why I should care about this character nor atlantean weapons nor anything. If this was a movie and looked cool, then maybe, but in writing it just comes across like you're assuming everything is cool enough that I will read onwards regardless, but nah. If anything, it feels generic.

Or put it another way, there's nothing relatable about it for me, and superheroes are done-to-death genre, so, dunno. The main character feels generic since you're basically playing the archetype straight, including the cop banter and everything.

Additionally, you're dropping names and jargon and stuff the whole time, and I have no idea what any of it is or means, so it means nothing to me

If you had, say, dedicated a chunk of the first chapter to this hero guy proposing, or doing something human-like, instead of just nonstop action and jargon, then maybe. You're going way too fast, way way too fast.

I thought that scene had a good vibe to it, but then it gets cut off by weather-controlling neohumans(?!), and frankly at that point I was skimming your action scenes in the hopes that I'd find another character moment

Like, it would've worked so much better if you had taken the rest of the chapter in that scene with the guy at the restaurant, let me get to know the actual person, doing actual person things, lol.
