Rayquaza lost attack when turning Mega

My Rayquaza was at the following status when I turned it Mega

• Above 131k attack (I think around 140, I honestly don't remember exactly)
• 50.04 EV bonus = 1.5x bonus
• Held item = Sharp Beak = 1.2x bonus

Upon turning mega, it dropped down to 115k attack showing the same bonuses which should be impossible, attack should increase.

I am attaching my current save with the Rayquaza Mega'd and an older file from a couple days ago from before. I had not fully completed the EV'ing process yet in the older file, and RayQ is only at around 95k. I apologize I don't have a save that's more recent than that prior to the issue.

I can confirm that Pokémon holding an attack boosting Held Item evolve to a Pokémon with less Attack despite the fact that they have the item still equipped to them

I tested with Galarian Slowpoke turning into Galarian Slowking. I equipped the spoon. I tossed some Rare Candies to it and upon evolving the Attack was lower than expected. Curious thing is though... that when I removed the Spoon and tried to equip the Poison Barb, game refused to equip it but consumed the item anyway. Other items like Miracle Chest work though. Also, removing the item keeps the Pokémon with the same attack instead of it going down due to losing the 1.2x bonus.

I've tried replacing Mega Rayquaza's Sharp Beak with a Wonder Chest (a non-attack held item) and its attack remained exactly the same indicating that the attack bonus from the held item was not applying

Refreshing fixes the issue but still quite strange

Any error when it ate the held item ?

nope

I checked the console and saw nothing. Item kept disappearing the more I clicked though

once I refreshed, it equipped / worked fine including giving the 1.2x bonus
