Quick testing : does not only happen with Magikarp Pond and space key.
Any town content which opens a modal causes this issue when pressing the key to open it while already we are closing a modal.
I managed to trigger this bug from closing the farm modal while pressing 4 in Motostoke (opens Battle Café).

No idea, might be, though. I remember a similar bug we fixed, but the solution used at this time might not work here.

It is related to bootstrap yeah.
And known for a very long time.
Happens whenever you open any modal on a specific timing when another modal is closing
