Connection problem

hiya i just got my pc delivered today, did everything the instructions told me to do and everything was all well. i turned on the pc and thought id give it a couple mins to boot but then 15 mins past and yet my monitor wasn’t turning on. i turned it all off, replugged everything, made sure the hdmi was in gpu and not motherboard. i tried again and my keyboard lights up when i press a key but my monitor just stays black screen. i turned on the monitor through its power button instead and it just says no signal and turns itself off. please help!!
