:tada: Congrats @modern summit, you levelled up to 6! :tada:
"The blue screen error "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" usually indicates a problem with a driver or a hardware component, specifically a memory-related issue. It happens when a driver or process tries to access a memory address it's not permitted to access, often at an inappropriate interrupt request level (IRQL)."
What nvidia drivers are you on? I googgled and got so many "potenial causes" I'll start with drivers because Nvidia have released some whacky ones these last 2 months.
Miles will probably come in a little later with some much better advice though, but we can start with the above.
I was on the newest ones then downgraded to previous ones now I’m on none because I reset my entire pc
So go back to March drivers?
Okay like Lewis suggested try downloading either the first driver of March, or the driver from Feb 27th works, 572.60, is what I am on, but Lewis is well knowledgeable as well and I know has said he has had no issues with a March driver either.
With the most recent May driver, I've had so many issues right down to it freezing my whole PC and needing a hard boot... on the Feb driver I've had NO issues.
Always game ready drivers
Either of those two top ones should be good 🙏
Same with me
Try running a memtest
Can use the Windows Memory Diagnostic which is built in to Windows
or can use this one
:one: Download MemTest86 using the link below.
:two: Open the zip file you downloaded and run ImageUSB
:three: Click 'Extract', choose a File Location then click 'Extract' again.
:four: Run ImageUSB from the File Explorer windows which just opened and select your USB stick from the list.
:five: Click the Write button, ensuring that any files on your USB stick that you would like to keep are backed up.
:six: Shut down the PC you are going to be testing, insert the USB stick and press the following key while your PC is turning on, depending on your motherboard:
ASUS/ROG: F8
Aorus/Gigabyte: F12
MSI/ASRock/Cyberpower: F11
Then select your USB Drive from the list and press Enter.
:seven: Wait for the 10 second timer to finish and the test will begin.
:exclamation: If MemTest86 picks up an error, or the test has finished (It will stop automatically), let us know.
After making a MemTest86 USB, you will notice that your USB will have much less capacity. To fix this, reopen the ImageUSB tool, select Reformat USB drive under Step 2, then click Write again.
Doing that rn
it’s taking a while
Yeah takes a bit
windows memtest takes 30m-60m
If it detects any errors then may as well cancel the test
what are the full system specs
5090 ryzen 7 9800 x3d Samsung 990 evo b850 asus motherboard 1200 watt psu 32gb team t force ram
Again this issue is only in fortnite
No other game
oh interesting
they use easy anticheat
maybe that's got something to do with it
it is a kernel level driver, so if it's having issues it'll impact the whole system
The kernel thing in windows 11 is off
?
uhhh no
i don't think so
might be stuck
Should I restart?
kernel level drivers are still kernel level regardless of this setting
so if they have major faults they can still crash
Oof
yeah if it's stuck you should restart
Any other ideas?
has it always done this
is your PC overclocked?
also if the windows memory test isn't working properly you can always try memtest86

Miles got you from here, I’m gonna dip out unless I see anything I can recommend, but he’s more knowledgeable than me 😂
Fixed it btw
:tada: Congrats @modern summit, you levelled up to 7! :tada:
Plugged it into the wall instead of the surge protector and it works
Surge protector might not have been suitable for the power draw
yea it wasint lol
Getting a better quality one
This is my current one
Apparently it’s like 20+ years old
Prob shouldn’t use it to power a 5000$ pc 😅
That’s causing the blue screens?
Yup
Yeah it will do
That’s kinda.. nuts, but alright. I learned something new.
My old pc years ago the graphics card used to brick itself if it was plugged into a extension
Literally just wouldn’t power the gpu up
Only plug my pc into the wall now and everything else is on a surge protector
I’m not brave enough to put mine into the wall. Knowing my luck I’d have issues
Honestly I get it, I was always the same, but I’ve done it for years now because of these issues
Also quazar you in the US?
Fair enough, at least it works for ya
Got a new surge protector and it works fine
Glad you got it all figured out! Happy gaming 🙂
Thanks bro
5k?
I thought that was cheap for a 5090
