what's the main use case for the system?
Mostly gaming which I realize it's a bit overkill for, but I'd like to try and future proof a bit and also dip into content creation in the future

the 9800X3D is the best gaming CPU there is atm
can you explain all the changes? you made quite a few
:tada: Congrats @fading topaz, you levelled up to 1! :tada:
the differences:
Case - changed the case to a Cooler Master case for better airflow
Case fans - no longer needed as the case comes with fans
CPU - 285K -> 9800X3D
CPU Cooler - Opted for RGB but it's essentially the same
Motherboard - Better value for money
SSDs: Opted for a super-fast 2TB MP700 Pro from Corsair as the primary drive which will have windows, and then two secondary drives (2x4TB) which are still very fast. Total of 10TB of storage.
RAM: 6400MHz -> 6000MHz as it's the sweet spot for AMD CPUs
PSU: 1600W is extremely overkill, so i reduced it to 1000W
Couple more questions if you don't mind
Is there a reason for the graphics card change?
and I have a pcie capture card I used to play and stream console games, will the motherboard change affect that in any way?
the graphics card is still a 5090 - the specific brand barely impacts performance, it's not enough to justify the huge price difference IMO
they get stock from multiple different brands:
- MSI
- Gainward
- Palit
- PNY
- ASUS
the specific one you receive will be whatever they have in stock - there will be minimal performance differences between them
the pcie capture card can be put in the bottom PCIe slot
fair enough, thanks for the help
it works out at ~£465 more expensive to go with the MSI model you selected before - and this will have very minimal performance uplifts
hey sorry, one last question, I saw that the RAM has a CL of 40, is that alright?
:tada: Congrats @fading topaz, you levelled up to 2! :tada:
CL40 isn't the best but it's not the worst either
