Hi all, hope you are all doing well, I was wondering if I could have your input on a rig which would give me the best bang for buck in my price area (there is a bit of wiggle room), Something that can handle streaming and video editing with ease would be fantastic, as well as high fps in games etc, I have been browsing through but I have always been an intel fan boy but by the way things are looking at the minute AMD seems to be the way.

Cheers!

here's a system that's pretty decked out:

  • 64GB of RAM, you mentioned video editing and i'm sure it could benefit from more RAM than usual
  • 5080, usually i'd recommend the 5070 Ti being more value for money (which it is), your budget exceeds that by quite a lot so the 5080 is probably best suited for what you'll use it for
  • 9950X3D, pretty much the best gaming CPU, i chose it over the 9800X3D for the higher core count which will be useful for video editing/streaming
  • 4TB storage: 2TB boot drive that's extremely fast and another 2TB of secondary storage that's very fast, i chose this much storage (4tb) because of videos obviously taking up storage
  • 1000w PSU, the 5080 needs at least an 850w power supply, but i went with the corsair RM1000X 1000w PSU as it gives you some headroom, especially for future upgrades

@worn axle Hello again, I am know thinking about spending around the £5k mark give or take a bit more and I like the sound of the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, would you be able to assist on another rig at all please?

np! i'll create it now

5k is a huge budget btw - even with a 5090 and 9950x3d you'll have quite a bit of headroom

also if you wanted to add a little more style (since your budget is so high) you could always add a cable kit
